I cut two fingertips off today

that chit is going to rot off bro, better air it. I dont know what the doc said but as long as you arnt picking your nose keeping the wound open should be much better for it. Maybe get something that will let some air on-to it but will still keep the dirt out but at the same time not sticking to it.

  4. nice, any chance of a button up shirt with a smaller/no logo on the back? What will the prices be like?
  5. shorter is generally better but as long as you have a fat enough cable to carry the required current lenght shouldnt be a problem. Some even run a ground from the front to the back.

What model CDTs have you heard? Had always heard really good things about them, so I bought them when I saw the sale and I really like them. Granted, I wouldn't pay what they retail for, they aren't that good. well i showed them around the wattage they said was ok and the cross overs seem to lower the tweeter at high volume.../ with more power. low power was ok sound. but for what i needed to keep up with.. was not happping. i got the cl 65's if i recall correctly. sorry to hear that, Im using the cl-62 with the silk tweeter think mt25 or something like that and never had such problems even when I bridged them. Actually now that I run them active they do make more power and sound way better.

I hate this analogy. Nobody goes to a concert for good sound, they go for the experience. The acoustics at a concert are horrible. The artists sound like chit due to, well, physics and the fact that their voice box is over-stressed, chitty equipment, etc. . . . DO I need to go on here? If you've ever been to a concert, aside from the Eagles, you know you don't want your music to sound like it does when you're there. whell Ive been to some pretty good concerts, and ill pay you 100 dollars if you go to any clasical concert that sounds like chit.... im not talking about your local highschool band playing in the backyard concert, but any way as mentioned before ITS WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY . No one can tell you what sounds good and not you will have to decide for your self; all we can do is give advise based on personal exsperiences.

    Punkey's Build Log

Thanks guys for the motivation and input.....but the more I think about it the more I want to move the amp; sure its nice and out of the way, cable runs are nice and short etc...but im really worried about the sun couldnt touch the amp today. Now I know its not good to mount the amp on the box but what If I double sided-tape here down?? should be enough to absorb most of the damaging vibrasions I think? What do u guys think?

normally a bigger box will only help if you dont have enough power for the sub.

ya thx for the warning. actually the tint is pretty dark and at night you cant see it...during the day its covered up. I live in one of the safest places and arnt really too worried about the amp getting stolen. The law is very strict around here. What I am concerned about is the heat. Even thought the whole car is boiling when I park in the sun I am still worried about heat damage? will the heat actually harm the amp there?

this thread is a waste of time, anyway as long as ayou are happy I suppose that is all that matters and no point going active if you are planning to go this route.

when you go to a concert do you turn your back to the stage and party on like that???????? Active; if you have the money active is really the only way to go...Sure its more troublesome to get right but once you get it right there is no comparison. By running active you take control of each individual speaker and that helps you create a good soundstage....at this point (if its done right) you will be able to tell where the artist is using the instrument in front of you. Running active also let you do time allignment which creates a sense of depth, and can fix all sorts of phasing issue's(no canselation FTMFW) The downside; its harder to get right, easier to blow ur speakers if you dont tune right and you will need a compatible headunit or processor; not to mention u will need a seperate channel on your amplifier for each speaker..more cable jada-jade some of the cheaper ways to get started are the pioneer P80 and Alpine 9887 popular alternative is to get a processor alpine 701 or the RF 360 to use just a few examples VS Passive with passive you have tuning in a box(tipically placed between the amp and your speakers) this limits your tuning a lot but make intalling a whole lot quicker and easier to get right. Its also pretty much dumbass proof and what I normally recommend for starters in the ice world. Some people like to run passive and argue that it gives a more analogue sound(debatable) even on high-end crossovers you loose a lot of flexability. Once you go active there is really no turning back.
