Just got this bad boy in today, from Fatbox USA...I must say it is the best box I've ever seen built and was done by the head owner of Fatbox himself and is signed by him for me! Not only is it VERY well built, and stunningly BEAUTIFUL, It is a BEAST at 100lbs!!! ALL 1" industrial MDF made in USA with a 2" front panel!!

Seeing this makes me nervous cause I have a Fully loaded 12" BL ordered on the 4th of this month (14 business days ago)...havn't got it yet of course but REALLY don't want to bump into out of the box issues!

Just got an email from Micheal at Singer...this could be good...However it is going to cost a nice chunk o' change!
~440 with lifetime warranty, seems odd going that way since my car is only worth 800 tops LMAO, but hey, I already got 2 grand into the stereo so I guess...why not? right? ..lol
Here was his email!
No problem
The upgraded unit that I offer for your vehicle is a 220A (ideal for around up to 2-3K RMS daily). This alternator is a direct bolt on design for your vehicle and would plug in just like the factory alternator (comes with overdrive pulley to boost idle output between 30-40A more then the stock size).
The total price on this unit shipped w/ my lifetime warranty on labor is $439
All units come w/ a lifetime warranty that covers any repair labor (parts are at company cost) You can add a powder coating option on any order for an additional $48 .
your about in the same boat as me. lol.. but hey what car is any good with no system? im for sure going singer and I looked into your suggestions of highs/mids.. they seem decent. wish I could hear some in person though
They are fantastic for that price I can promise you that! Maybe a local store around you has some on display?

I like my 2013 Oversized Kenwood Excelon XR1800P components(7 inch mids), they are FANTASTIC and online are only $99 bucks!!! ...in the local shop they are charging $350!!!
If you have a chance I would most definately give them a listen! (all components sound soooo much better when in you vehicle) These SCREAM inside a vehicle!!! And are crisp as the best pickle you can buy
Amp is up to you but for a front stage amp, you don't need too much..and is all in how much you want to spend and personal taste. I am a Kenwood Excelon fan hands down for front stage, the amp you put them on won't even matter as long as it has proper power of course
If you don't see an amp in these forums companies that you like and find the price is right, check these out:

I too am curious as to what the sub itself is doing to "sound bad"..may or may not shed some light on other issues.

I don't know if I'm typing it right but I know that these H/U's outputs are rated at 4v, and that the Excelon line of Kenwood does that 4v true as possible.

I actually meant 4 volts that was my bad : ) and you are, most surely right, making that setting conservative as possible especially without meter is a very good practice.
Also Kenwood Excelon H/U's are known to hit their rated 4v outputs quite nicely : )
Here is this for some help:

You NEVER want to set the gain higher than the H/U's output voltage in your case(and mine) that's .4v!! Other wise you are garunteed clipping the sub no matter what volume you are at.

I run my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X497 at 33 and have no distortion or clipping. The way I have my amp set, my H/U will distort a tiny bit on only some songs when at the full 35. Alot of it depends on if your amped up..If you are, it is equally, if not more important to make sure your voltage gains at the amp are set properly. I also reccomend running your head unit "flat"...as in all "0's" +or- 1 or 2 on bass, mid, and high settings with no bass boost to help prevent clipping and again refer to the amp for tuning.

I can't find a company that will work with me on my 1995 Mazda Millinia 2.5L: engine idle=700rpm, they all need a product number which i cannot get without 3 and a half man hours of work pulling the alternator just to get a number off of it and put it back in...EXCEPT, Maniac Electric Motors, can I be proved wrong here, lol?

Ya lol, no question...so in that case I'll just say,
Welcome to the SSA Forum, best place on the interweb for car audio discussion!

Also if you are running both subs on only the one 1500bdcp at 2ohms, you are only feeding these 1500w RMS beasts...750w RMS maximum a piece. That is the main difference right there. One of them on their own could chew on 1500w all day!

awesome work, my family is in the furniture business, and mechanic busniness, you oughta make good money off that talent!

I was uneducated when I picked the alt and never asked but after purchasing and digging I realized that was the issue..
Circumstances at the tune did not allow me the luxury of sending the unit back and paying the mechanic to do the work and send it back. It was very frustrating
I could imagine so! That is why I am trying my best to be patient about jumping on an alternator. I just checked my batt's voltage with the car off and no draw after bumping a little bit and it was right at 12v, so I know I need to do something about it sometime soon
