Their new amps won't strap with the old ones. That blows.

We upgraded these amps to freshen things up since we haven't in 10+ years. We understand that for those of you who may have the other model amps that this may put some stress on you if you are trying to add to your existing set-up. We are trying our best to appease everyone we can while being innovative and keep SoundQubed from being stagnant. If there is anything we can do to help please let us know.

You could have warned your existing customers of the change.

We  had a huge blow out sale on the existing amps and told people the change was coming - Did you recently purchase an amp or is it an older amp?

That's right the rumors are true! We have discontinued the Q1-3500D.1! Don't fear, we have replaced it with a bigger badder model that we aptly named the Q1-4500D.1. This amplifier utilizes the Q1-3500 casing and features the new SOUNDQUBED laser etched logo on the heat sink. The Q1-4500D.1 is on back order and are slated to be in mid April. If you would like to purchase one at the pre sale price you may do so HERE. Once the amps arrive the price will adjust to $839.00 shipped. The New Q1-4500D.1 does 4560W @14.4v at 1 Ohm. (1% THD)

We have also upgraded the Q1-2200D.1 to the new version the Q1-2200D.2. This version two has also been upgraded just like the Q1-3500D.1. We utilized the same casing and board structure while refreshing some internals to give us 130W more power. This means you could see roughly 2330W RMS @14.4v at 1 ohm! (1% THD)

The Q1-1200D.1 was also modified just as the two amps above. The Q1-1200.2 is the revised version and at 1% distortion you will see 1310W RMS @14.4v at 1 ohm!  (1% THD)

**The NEW amps can not be strapped with the Q1-3500D.1, Q1-2200D.1, or the Q1-1200D.1**

  5. Just wondering if the new HS310's would work well in a 4th order application ? i cant seem to find anything about box recommendation etc.

and also if they will work in a 4th order application will they work well in .5 seale each im looking at doing 4 10's in a 2:1 ratio 4th in my trunk.

    Thanks

Yes the HDS2 and HDS3's support a softer suspension which works great in sealed or bandpass enclosures. The .5 : 1.00 will work great.

  6. I got these amps too, what do you set the lpf on? I noticed the higher I go the sub gets a bit louder. I don't have the smd crossover setting thing but I put my lpf at 12'oclock and subsonic filter at 9oclock. Does this sounds about right?

I have two strapped to an hdc4 15

    ManzKea,

Check out the amp settings we suggest:

    Amp Setup Instructions

Amplifier basic gain and crossover setting instructions for:

    AQ750D    AQ1200D     AQ2200D    AQ3500D.1

    1. Set LPF to 100-125

    2. Set Subsonic to 30-35

    3. Set master/slave switch to Master

    4. Set the gain on the amp to min(all the way to the left)

    5. Install the remote gain and turn 1/2 way up (the midpoint on the dial)

    6. All EQ settings and bass controls on the HU to O (Alpine HU's subwoofer up on some models needs to be turned up)

    7. Turn HU volume to 3/4 and insert CD (perferbably a recorded CD and not an mp3  At this time you will have no output because the gain on the amp is turned down)

    8. Slowly turn the gain on the amp until the clipping indicator on the remote starts to flicker as the frequencies in the music change. Do not allow the the clipping indicator to glow solid or flicker continuously on constant music or stay red on transients. This will lead to a burning coil.

    Also,

Make sure to read over our shipping policy! If you do not select signature ship and you know you live in the hood there is nothing we can do to recover your package, so if you want insurance please select signature required.

You should hire a proor-reader before posting.  Great business ethics here.

Guess having a little bit of fun isn't allowed!

All we want to do is make sure everyone is safe and secure. Without signature ship we don't have the ability to file a claim in the instance that an item is lost or stolen. It's not a common occurrence but if it does happen it sucks for you and us and it takes forever to process through the shipping companies.

  10. Alton,
We couldn't have said it better. Please use the Remote knob on your Q1-750. It's not an accessory. It is a piece of the amp.
The SoundQubed remotes are Gain knobs and do offer the ability to watch for clipping.
Check out this link for amp set up instructions: http://www.soundqubed.com/Amp-Setup-Instructions-_ep_69.html

It depends on whether it's a remote gain or bast boost knob.  If it's a bass boost then definitely forget it, but if it's a remote gain knob then it does have a very useful function.  If it's a remote gain you'll want to turn it all the way up and then set the gain on the amp like 1two3 explained.  Listen for clipping/distortion then back it off a hair.  Then you can use the remote gain knob to turn the sub down to blend better with the rest of your speakers but when you want to bump hard or show off you can turn the bass knob up to get more output without having to worry as much about clipping the sub.

Trust us, there's no need for any meters or scopes and DEFINITELY no use for a DD-1.  Your ears are the best tuning tool.

What kind of enclosure are you putting the sub in?  If you're putting it in a ported enclosure I'll need to cover how to set the SSF (Sub-Sonic Filter) as well.

  11. We recommend going ported however if you do want to go sealed the HDS line can do it. Remember you are going to lose out a little on the low end so keep that in mind. For an HDS315 sealed we suggest no smaller than 3^ft.
