  1. I would like to know the status on these recones I ordered back on may 2nd. I talked to Mark when we were at Big Apple for a comp this past sunday and he told me to get ahold of him and he would see what was going on, but I am unable to get ahold of him.. Any and all help with would be great!! thanks

  2. Well, my freshly reconed xcon just came in today and to my surprise, it has the dome cap. Hooray boobs! The big dish will be missed, but the dome is a little larger than I had expected it to be. I think I am actually going to like the new look. I guess that's what happens when you get a real subwoofer. Good thing I have the day off tomorrow to play :wacky:

    Edit: forgot the pic

Nice! This is what I expect to see when I finally recieve my Xcon recones;)

  3. really? everything i read said the subs like huge boxes... i can build another if i dont like it... or preferably build another box for 2 subs! 152 on sum 10s sounds nice... thanx for the info guys!

low power / bigger enclosure, chigh power / smaller enclosure and you my friend will have a decent amount of power on tap for that copper 15..

obviously the bigger box is more efficient, but which setup would be the loudest or get more spl?
    ..try 3.75

    ..try 3.75 tuned 36-38hz

  4. Personally I've had 4 setups with the ZCONs and I have loved every single one of them.

But honestly without giving any information about your setup or goals, you'll get mostly subjective answers.

    all, neither,. none..

    power,vehicle, goal, want, budget

    hard to say...

    for you...

for me, i know what i would do...

  5. How do you know the enclosure is to spec?  Have you measured it and done all the calculations?  Is the SSF (subsonic filter) set correctly on the amp?

Just because the shop "says" the box is to spec doesn't mean that it is.  As a matter of fact some shops will seldom build a custom enclosure to the specs a person asks for because it's a lot of trouble.  They just kind of build it close and call it good from most I've seen.  If they didn't build you a custom enclosure and it's in a pre-fab I can almost guarantee it's nowhere near the right specs.  On top of that if the SSF isn't set right and you're playing it below tuning (which is very easy in a pre-fab enclosure as most are tuned above 40hz) the sub could be unloading and causing that noise in that case.
