  1. well i have 4 dual 4 ohm subs so i have to run it at .5 ohm but alot of people have told me that that amp is .5 ohm stable and will handle it with no problem with burps and music, i hope there rite has anyone every used one, ive had abunch of people tell me it will hit like 2300 at .5 ohms

i know someone with a saz 1500d at .5 ohms and its fine. it just shortens the lifespan by a little.

but u HAVE to make sure your electrical is good because your volts will drop a good amount with everything being stock.

the 2000d will probably put out 2300 at 1 ohm if your volts stay up. so its gona put out more at .5 ohm.

    sundown amps are way underrated

  2. What you rec..? just measured my space the enclosure can be up to 52"W x14"H but no more than 14"D, roughly where would that put me cubic ft wise

That is about 5.9 cu. ft. before factoring in wood thickness and all other whatnot.

Thanks man, what it take to get 3.0 cu. ft,....as long as its ??"Wx14"Hx14"d, thanks for the help

if you have almost 6 cubes id go with more than 3. both subs need a decent amount of airspace to sound good.

  3. Yeah i currently have on rf 4000 for the 2 18 btl's fully loaded and trust me when i say this its literally shaking the hell out of my expedition .......1 is more than plenty

cool, cause 1200.00 per amp is alot.I see alot of people with 2 3500 sundowns on each sub.I may go with 2 2000.1 instead.thanks for the reply. How dose Mead run 1 4000.1 to each sub?

id go with whichever one is cheaper outa the two 2000.1's or one 4000.1

  4. I know the Rockford's always produce more that the listed wattage and when i went yesterday to take a look at one, the birth sheet had it listed at 3190watts. That seemed hella good to me, but I didn't know if my BLs could handle all of that. I really like them, but i dont want to kill them!!! Thanx for the input guys.

that would be a little over 2000 watts to each bl. they cant take that much.

just back off the gains some and they should be fine.

  5. Going to build a small sealed box with a 12" sub powered with my Sundown SAE1200. More for sound quality than spl. Been looking at these two.

SSA DCON 12 and Sundown SA-12.

Will the DCON hold up when driven with 600w ? I think it's rated for 300.

Anyone have experiance with either of these? It looks like the Icon 12 would be a better match for this amp, but it is priced a bit higher. Let me know your opinion.

the icon would be a perfect match with that amp.

i say definitely spend the extra money and get the icon.

  6. no i have a bad car and i dont spend money on it any more. with some good batts i should stay around 12-12,5 volt.

you guys know whats the rating of the 4500 at 12,5 v?

if your already planning on getting multiple batteries then sacrifice a batt and get an alternator 2.

you could probably get one for the same price if not cheaper then the batts.

  7. you just told him to start asking questions instead of makin opinions and thats exactly what hes doing.

he's been asking questions the whole time.

all im saying is that things go a lot better and there's no problems as long as your not going off on people like you so rudely do on every post.

how should people learn if they dont start posts and ask questions. you act like you werent in any of their positions once. there was a time when you were just like everybody on this forum.

If by better you mean having an OP get all sorts of uneducated unvalidated responses then sweet you are right. Instead perhaps reading the forum guidelines and making a thread worthwhile for others to read might help. Like a crap ton.

Your post amuses me. Here is what actually happens. People ask this vs that questions. The ones who could help read it and go Ugh another stupid thread so they never open it again. Then a bunch of noob post whores answer and the perception is that the OP gets an answer. If you truly think that is better, you amuse me.

I didn't ask him to do anything that the forum guidelines that you both agreed to when you joined didn't spell out specifically. Follow them and you will get good answers, if you don't some idiot will respond with some garbage convincing you to do something stupid and those of us who would call him out won't read your thread since it started off so poorly in the first place. Sounds great. On top of that it ruins the forum as it makes it so no one can actually search for information.

If you can't formulate a thought and follow the rules DON'T make a thread. It is really simple.

your exactly right. by all means call out the people that think they know what they are talkin about and set them straight but u really dont have to be rude to EVERYONE. and if your talkin about the more knowledgeable people on this forum reading ignorant posts and not replying because they are noob posts then why do you? and if you have such a problem with his post then why did u say anything? im jus sayin that you are probably one of the most knowledgeable on this forum and people would like your help and would like to come to the forum without bein talked to like they amount to nothing.

  8. I think this amp has a bandpass filter option. You can play active with it.

I recently read that you can't easily go active with a component set.

You need to buy mid speakers And tweeters and tune it. It may be easier to play passive with a 2 channel amp and a good set of comps.

    Just my 2cts! :)

Well with my research, I found that active sounds better, and gets louder, Also has a lot more play wth tuning which frequencies for each speaker. Now if my h/u is capable of going active I would like to do a 3 way set up. 6 1/2 midbass in the doors , 3" fullrange in the stock 4X6 mount, and tweeters in the a-pillars. I need opinions on what speakers/tweets to get. I mostly listenin to rap, rock, an heavy metal. I would like to go 3way active if possible if not then 2 pairs of tweets, 1 in 4X6 1 in the a pillars. Thanks in advance.

Ouch, that isn't a 3 way. Please read some more or ask questions.

    - never run two pairs of tweets, it will sound like ass

    -4x6's are generally useless

-a 3 way should consist of drivers that specialize in a certain passband. In general you want to find a mid that can play as much of the frequency range as possible

-generically speaking your first attempt at active will sound WAY worse than the same set passive. It is far from trivial to implement.

-there are very few 6.5" midbasses, normally that is a midrange and I'll add a really crappy size for a midrange

You are confused. Stop posting options and instead ask for advice based on what space, budget, and listening preferences you have. If you continue down the path you are on it will fail.

what im geting from this post is that he is doing exactly what your telling him to do.

im pretty sure this is why he posted it in the first place if im not mistakin.

hes asking questions and learning about stuff.

m5 just comes off alittle rough, if you read the how to post section it give you a pretty good idea of how your suppose to inform "us" as to what you are trying to achieve with your build.

yea i know. he just posted in 5 straight posts and every one of them he was like that.

people come on this forum to get questions answered and to get help they need.

not to get talked to like that.

Then they should read the noob posting guidelines or go somewhere else. This is supposed to be a serious forum but tools keep asking stupid pucking questions in stupid ways which is not a good thing for anyone reading, searching, or trying to learn. You'd be damn surprised at the level of knowledge on here and it is REALLY easy to tap all it requires is a little thoughtfulness on posts.

  11. if your budget is 500 for a new setup its gona be hard to get everything.

if you get a 18" q its gona be about 350 just for that.

I was thinking more of Subwoofer budget ;3

already got me some killer 0/1 in my garage, KnuKoncepts Kolosus Fleks ftw. got 1 long 25 footer, and 1 0/1 6ft strand of the mentioned wire.

(already preparing for an install, as soon as I got subs and more wood, im totally starting a build thread)

im still considering a 1500.1, how well do you think it could push 2 Fi Qs?

    oh haha i gotcha now.

the 2000d isnt much more then the 1500d rite now so id go with that :)

itd be nice with those q's
