  1. okay, just had a chance to clamp my ct sounds 4000.1. Not impressed and wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i could be doing wrong.

Had a SQ 2200 and it is considerably louder than it but still i would like to see the amp do rated...

54v x 48.2 amps at .5 nominal... rise to 1.12... 2603 watts - 50 hertz - drop to 11.8 on dmm at dual inputs, not gain knob... at 12.4 volts that would still be less than 3000 if my math is correct... that was using the clip light to set gain tho and i have heard they are early... didnt have time to check oscope against it...

2004 blazer, 240 mechman, duracell agm 34 under hood, 400 amp fuse, duracell agm 31 in rear, Kicker 1/0 BIG 3, SHCA 2/0 to the back battery, SHCA 1/0 x 2 to the amp, hdc3 15s d2...

    IDEAS OR THOUGHTS ANYONE?

    any info will be appreciated!

  2. i cant answer on the electrical... that alt seems small but you already know that... i have 2 hdc3 15 d2s on a ct sounds 4000. @ half ohm... they beat the hell out of the blazer... they will want all that power u have... 1500 rms is highly underrated... i have seen people stack the amps... i had both of those subs on a single 2200 @ half ohm and it never got hot so that shouldnt be an issue... badass amps! i dont think the extra length of your wires will hurt anything as long as they are sufficiently sized... good luck with your install man!

  3. welcome to the forum... from what you said we have several things in common...3 months ago i had 2 kenwood 10's...like you said, thats not enough... its never enough... now i have 3 15's and 9000 watts, and contemplating more... its a clean, healthy addiction and there are quite a few knowledgable people on here that will help you on your journey... good luck man!!!

  4. 99.99999% of the people who are going to give you and answer have no idea what the impedance they are presenting thier amplifiers actually is.  So honestly, you aren't going to get any objective answers to this unless someone has a swept impedance curve of thier subwoofer system and the amplifer you are talking about.

This is kind of the problem and where so many different opinions come from, they are not based on any sort of facts, just gut feeling.

You can get in trouble because guy X runs the same subs as you and the same amp and is fine, but your box may have a completely different impednace curve and you might cook your amp where guy X was fine the whole time...

good point... i rose to 1.4 from .5 at 40 hertz... any time you go lower than rated nominal you are taking a chance

Thanks phatboi.... I believe the only thing that has changed on them is the logo... i ordered the amp and a hdc 3 15 d2... as soon as the amp got remote power, it smoked... i double checked my wiring and am positive that it wasn't an error on my part... i removed a working amp and put the SQ in its place... also the amp for the highs that gets its power from the same distribution block is fine... i spoke with customer service and told them i didn't really want that amp back, as it never worked right in the first place. they told me they would only repair the amp. not only did i have to pay for return shipping, now they have sent me an email saying i have to pay 120 to get the amp repaired... so now i have 575 in a $400 amp.... is this a standard practice? The sub is a monster and i read all the good reviews about AQ and SQ but my first experience with them is turning into a nightmare....

    shonB,

Thanks for updating this! We go over all product that comes back with a fine tooth comb. We aren't here ring you for every dime you have. We have built a very strong relationship with our customers and pride ourselves on our customer service, tech, and service department.

here is the link for the amp repair needed... you can also lower the last number to see previous returns... they have had several issues with their amps but how many do they sell? a shitload im guessing... i dont agree with the pictures they post of the bill of sale telling any would be thief the name and address of people who have purchased equipment which is most likely in their car... mines not on there or i would throw a fit about that... now i just want my amp back so i can test the hdc3!

I will talk to our developers about this and have it fixed promptly.

I have dealt with you on another issue that was caused by user error and you proved that you arent just in it to make money. Any reservations I had about Soundqubed have been resolved. The product is quality and the price is right. I will finish out my system with SQ and recommend them to anyone that asks... and i've had quite a few already!!!slayer.gif Thanks guys!!!ready2go.gif

really? everything i read said the subs like huge boxes... i can build another if i dont like it... or preferably build another box for 2 subs! 152 on sum 10s sounds nice... thanx for the info guys!

low power / bigger enclosure, high power / smaller enclosure and you my friend will have a decent amount of power on tap for that copper 15..

obviously the bigger box is more efficient, but which setup would be the loudest or get more spl?

I wouldn't really say that. . . . And really noone will be able to tell you what will be the "best" . And people who have said certain things will be the "best" for you. You probably shouldn't listen to them......... there is just so many things that can make differences. ................. and do you really mean you want your system aimed toward spl or are you wanting to be "LOUD" because there is a pretty big difference to being loud to the ear and loud on the meter. . .

i get what you are saying.... its daily so i mean loud to the ear....
