  1. It's built great. So compact and heavy duty feeling. And it packs a lot of power. Cleaned up my highs with minimal tuning and it added a little bit of oomph to my mids. Awesome product through and through. And didn't even need to turn it a lot on the gain knob. Just a little pinch to the right is all you need
  2. So I got home and had a package waiting for me. I picked up the 4 channel ssa amp when there was that friends and family sale going on. I was always on the fence about em but once that sale kicked off I just had to pick it up. Loved the pics of it and in. Person this amp is beautiful and has a nice strong solid build feel to it. Im replacing my hifonics Zeus 2000.4 amp so I can't wait to hear the quality this amp puts out. It it will be powering a pair of 8" Rockford pro audio. A pair of Rockford punch 6x9, pair of the ssa evil mids. And evil tweeters. Just thought id share. I don't see much of real hands on experiences with the amps.

Great idea. I'll look into this for future builds. I agree with the wait period lol it sucks.

New build for the gmc sierra

How does a slip in port look like!? Your box doesn't look that deep so I was curious as to how you'll reach the tuning frequency. And what a score. Wonder what 2 12k will get ya. And so you have a pic of your pulley system? I can't wrap my head around it lol
  5. True. But I'm trying to stay minimal because it's in my trunk. I'll take a pic. Of it to show it. But I did that brace to the top and it still wobbles! Lol these evils man. But what could also contribute to it I think is that i took out the trunk floor. My spare battery is in it but maybe a little over half the box is floating over it. I couldn't put the floor because it would've been too low to fit the box. But it's wedged in the front area. Maybe I'll make braces to help stablizr the bottom or something.

Bad back and knee ansnyou managed to get that beast box and heavy subs in!?!?
  7. Thanks for all this info! Even tho you say it's a no no it looks awesome and clean. Btw how much displacement does it take up. I tried to do the math with a full piece. No maybe minus a bit for all the holes and what not but it still came out to a lot so I opted for the 2x2s all over the place
  8. Is that more effective than running braces from wall to wall, top to bottom?
  9. Thank you for posting that. And yea I really didn't think that pitted added strip of wood could make much of a difference. I'll deffinetly get on it when I have the time and energy to get my bix out my trunk

    Welcome welcome
  13. Now that I think about it. Your way is better since it's pinched agains two walls. Added support
  14. Oh ok. So just adding a brace along the top of the box ( cuz that's where the amp is mounted). Front to back and up on the wall. Never thought of that. I actually did that on the out side of the box. And minted the amp to that. So two pieces one for echo side of the legs of the amp
  15. Ok. Wall to wall and too to bottom correct. Like a T? I'll try that makes sense. I'll give it a shot
  16. Whoop whoop the few the proud the ssa members! Lol
  17. Yea it's hard to find real world pics of the amps. Let alone a video on YouTube. So I felt I had to share with my ssa peeps
  18. I've actually put bracing in it thinking to make it not vibrate. But it still does. Lol. I'm using 2x2 wood. 2 sets going from the front of the bix to the back of the box. In between the subs. Then I got two going top to bottom. Equally spaced from one wall in wards. And from the ported wall inwards. Then I got two going from ported wall to wall. All some what equally spaced apart.
  19. I'll do a follow up once it's installed
  20. Tank indeed! Just waiting on some anti vibration pads. I gotta mount it on my sub box and my previous amp is acting up and I think it's because of the box vibration. Them evils trying to break out its box lol
  21. Wow lots of great info. Thanks guys!!!
  22. Ok so I see a lot of conflicting answers regarding a small box if you plan on over powering your sub. Be believe in it, others say it's a lie. My question is if you're gonna over power a sub. What would be considered smaller ? I'm thinking about 2 15s. They call for 3-4 ft3 but I'm thinking of putting them in a 5 ft3 box. After displacement and port. Im looking into the sp4v2 and putting them on a hd8k. I know they are underrated. And the taramps is over the rms slightly. So I wa wondering if this will work out well. The reason why I'm asking is because I don't wanna sacrifice more space for my box. And seeing how the 8k is more than enough for the subs, I assume I could get away with a smaller box. Well thanks for all inputs guys. Aloha.
  23. Yes they do lol. I guess their like Jordan's of the car audio world
  24. So what would be the reason for some of the bigger systems scoring high and moving lots of air, etc. guys like Jprices Tahoe, um sencheezy, etc. idk can't think right now lol. Would you say they are few exceptions or would you say they have the equipment and power supply to get loud regardless ? Just curious.
  25. But everyone just swears by it now days lol like a 4th order is the secret to taking your system to the next level lol
