Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

This is the exact 4ch amp I used for a long time and still actually have. It will solve your concerns about the RMS ratings to power your choice of components, if it's still in your budget. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_44492_Hifonics-Zeus-ZRX1000.4.html If a set of components says it runs 110 watts MAX that means you can expect no more than half of that wattage during normal and constant use. RMS ratings are there to show how many watts amps/speakers will actually be running/using. It's the same with amp ratings. If an amp says it runs 5 million watts "MAX", it really will only be running 2 and 1/2 million watts or less the majority of the time. Cheap amps and speakers list there "MAX" ratings to make the amp or speaker seem powerful to users who don't understand RMS ratings. -it's good to have extra power, you don't have to use it all...it will not damage your speakers if you dial the amp down to the wattage the speaker needs which will actually provide a cleaner signal. You have much learning ahead of you! Most of it should be through reading. ok thanks. so do you think the type R alpines are trying that hard to make it seem like they are better than they really are? or every speaker has their max RMS listed anyway, so any speaker listed at 110 RMS is still running half that most of the time anyway? its sort of hard to find unbiased and knowledgeable info online. i see alot of things claiming one thing, and then others saying its not true. know of any good websites that have legit articles to learn from? also if the speakers say up to 110 RMS would i set the amp to around 100 RMS? or set it to just 55 RMS? i do still appreciate all the help you have been giving :] wondering if i may ask you to check the last post on the previous page, to see if you have any feedback for that as well? thanks again!

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

the RMS has a range, talking about the higher end of rms "power range: 8-110 watts RMS" but yeah i guess just RMS

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

So the 110 RMS max at 4 ohms is more likely running around 60 watts? 110-50=60? and the amp says this: "RMS Power @ 4 ohms 75 watts x 4 channels" but it also says: " Bridged Peak/Max Power 300 watts x 2 channels". so if im running only 2 speakers for now, do i have to bridge it to run the amp? or can i just leave 2 channels left unconnected? will it still use 300 watts possibly? and damage the speakers cause double the power?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks alot, now it makes sense :] now that i understand this part, got stereo and speakers, and amp covered for now. ill get a stereo with 3 preamp outputs, front, rear, and sub. ill get a pair of alpine type R component speakers for the front. and then the amp that you suggested. so for now i guess i am set? anything else i would need to cover? i will plan on upgrading to a small subwoofer and small mono amp later on. and possibly a pair of rear speakers. sound deadener is a question and the speaker baffle? and speaker ring recess? should i get speaker baffles just because they sort of cheap? they cant hurt can they? help with sound? and would the speaker baffle replace needed these speaker rings? should i even get these speaker rings?: http://www.amazon.com/RING-6-5BZ-Speaker-Recess-MOUNTING-SPACER/dp/B00K5Q9D7U and this sound deadener good? http://www.soundqubed.com/Q-Mat_c_31.html heres link to the deadener im looking at more specifically, just need 1 order of these right?: http://www.soundqubed.com/Q-MAT-Speaker-Kit_p_215.html

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks again! appreciate all of your input, been a great help :] so you are saying thats what the preamp outputs are for. so then that means a stereo with 3 sets of preamp outputs is a 6 channel stereo? if so, then i guess calling them 4 channel or 6 channel stereos is not a good way to describe them? its better to say the preamp outputs it has, as in front and rear only, or front, rear, and sub? if i understand this correctly?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks. just to clarify though... the "channels" in the stereo, are referring to RCA hookups, right? so i would need a 6 channel stereo? that has the 3 outputs, front, rear, sub?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

thanks for the help! im guessing you dont want to suggest speakers because they all sound different to each person? the amp for speakers you suggested seems good. but the speakers i want are 4 ohm and max 110 RMS per speaker. the amp you posted is 75 RMS per speaker. i assume getting 100 RMS per speaker would sound better? but would it be noticeably different? and i think a bigger amp would cost more too. might not be worth the cost for bit extra RMS? weird too.... i found out that these coaxial speakers do NOT fit my rear ? online it says the coaxial dont fit rear of car. but the component and coaxial are the same size? and online it says the components DO fit the rear. How is this possible? http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPR-60-Coaxial-Type-R-Speaker/dp/B004VSTYI6 but the component of them do fit the REAR and the FRONT? http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPR-60C-Audio-Component-System/dp/B004VBIEZW so should i just get 2 pairs of components? and the rear components i guess i would need to do a surface mount for the tweeters? but the front components, should i do a flush mount for tweeters? it seems like flush mount for tweeters is best for front? ALSO BIG QUESTION, super confused on the number of channels needed for 4 speakers and 2 amps? 1 amp for the 4 speakers, and the 2nd amp for a sub woofer. you mentioned to get outputs, front, rear, and sub. so if it has these 3, i only need a 4 channel, not a 6 channel, correct? i was talking to someone and they said i would need a 6 channel... 4 channels for the 4 speakers and the sub woofer would need 2 RCA, a left and right RCA connection. so they said to get 6 channels? but that doesnt make sense to me? so question is.... can i get a 4 channel stereo with 3 outputs, front, rear, and sub, to power 2 amps and 4 speakers? 1 amp for speakers, and one amp for subwoofer? or do i need a 6 channel stereo with 3 outputs, front, rear, and sub? as of now, looking at this stereo, unless another is suggested? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_93021_JVC-Arsenal-KD-AR765S.html also theres the option for subwoofer output or mono-subwoofer output, ill probably be getting a mono amp for the subwoofer? so does it matter which output? Thanks again!

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks appreciate it so by small do u mean the "mini amp"? or just small as in low wattage? and around how many watts do i want from an amp? do ohms matter much? any brand amp is fine? or what to look out for? im actually trying to think about what i want my setup to be overall. thanks for the suggestion! so im considering all parts now. 4 speakers, headunit, amp for speakers, amp for subwoofer, and the subwoofer. i saw some 8 inch subwoofers for as cheap as 20 bucks. but maybe id go with a 50 dollar subwoofer? dont really want crazy bass.... and would i put an 8 inch in the trunk? since its a tiny car, id assume its fine?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

im confused. so are you saying that depending on the power needed by speakers and subwoofer that i might be able to use only 1 amplifier? im looking at sonicelectronics thanks, didnt know they had that compatibility search which helps alot! but it looks like 4 channel amps are 1/3 the price of 5 channel amps... so maybe it is better to just get a 4 channel amp and then a mini amp for a subwoofer? any reason to find a single 5 channel amp instead of two amps, one being 4 channel and the other a mono channel amp? would that put too much stress on my car battery if i got 2 amps?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks for the info! just to clarify, if i got one of the 2 stereos i posted, then you are saying that i cannot use a sub? and if i wanted then i would be required to purchase a whole new stereo? wondering if theres another way to hook up an amp for sub? any chance a tiny sub would not require a separate amp, so i can just use 1 amp thats 5 channels for each speaker, and the sub? the stereo you posted that has the sub preamp output, seems a bit pricey? or is that a common price for stereos with that extra feature for sub preamp? i tried looking for the sub preamp output on clutcherfield for compatibility for my car, but only 2 were shown to fit. and i didnt like either one that was shown as having sub preamp outputs. i thought any stereo should fit almost any car? weird how only 2 showed up? how do i tell if that fits my car?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

thanks but yea a bit expensive lol looking to spend around 100 bucks for the amp unless it would be cheaper in the long run to get a 5 channel amp. 4 channel for speakers and 1 channel for sub? also would save room cause only need 1 amp and not 2? to be honest i dont know. if i dont have a location to mount them, am i able to make something so they will fit? i plan on bringing my items into a local shop to have them help me out and set things up. i would assume and hope they would be able to find a way to mount the tweeters in a good position? also it looks like with the alpines that as of now i want to get, unless i see a better speaker or something, the alpine component and coaxial are around the same price. so if i want to get the rear speakers later on, would the component speakers in rear be a better option over the coaxial if they are the same price? i heard to just put coaxial in the back? do coaxial have more bass? any reason to not use components in the back as well if they are the same price? edit: just noticed they are 50 bucks different.... guess i would just buy the cheaper ones. unless theres any reason component in the rear would be good too? front component http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPR-60C-Audio-Component-System/dp/B004VBIEZW these are rear coaxial http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPR-60-Coaxial-Type-R-Speaker/dp/B004VSTYI6

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks guys for replies :] ive heard i should get these for the speakers http://www.amazon.com/RING-6-5BZ-Speaker-Recess-MOUNTING-SPACER/dp/B00K5Q9D7U and also sound deadener for the doors. what brand or type of sound deadener would u all suggest? okay so u suggest i get new headunit, then 2 front component speakers. but i have a tiny 2 door car, so id assume the rear speakers would help a decent amount later because its such a small car and can hear from the back easy enough? what type of sub and amp for sub would u suggest? i never really planned on getting a sub, but the more i read, the more it seems like a good idea. i dont really want or need huge bass, just a bit is enough. whats a cheap budget thing i can do for this? plz keep in mind i wont be making the box myself. i was suggested to get sound deadener from here: http://www.soundqubed.com/Q-Mat_c_31.html and i guess id only need the speaker kit? and only 1 kit? cause 2 sheets, one for each door?> and was suggested this amp: http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-ZRX616-4-Channel-Amplifier-ZRX6164/dp/B00YDF61DI/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&keywords=4%20channel%20amp%20kit&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&qid=1457717469&ref_=mp_s_a_1_13&sr=8-13 i am considering one of these two stereos: jvc brand http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KWR910B/JVC-KW-R910BT.html?tp=5684 kenwood brand http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DPX301U/Kenwood-DPX301U.html?tp=5684 any input is welcome as always, if u agree or disagree, or think i should do something different, please comment, thanks again!

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

ok thanks so you think the alpines are a good brand speaker? cause budget, would it be alright to just get new stereo and front speakers for now, and amp and rear speakers later? wondering if the front component type R alpine will be okay without an amp? and what amp would you suggest? probably just need a cheap amp?

Question about setup and items to buy, im noob plz help

or should i splurge a bit and get these type R instead of the type S? big over double the price for the type R. and they also have type R or type S coaxial speakers that i can get for the rear if i want to. ive heard that you really dont need to get rear speakers? http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPR-60C-Audio-Component-System/dp/B004VBIEZW/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1457860955&sr=1-1&keywords=Alpine+SPR-60C+6.5%22 or a different brand/speaker? for the crossover on these can you change the db by hand without needing to go into the door panel? ive heard people say these have too harsh highs, so they change the crossover to -2 or -4 db to make it sound better? im new at this, and not exactly sure where the crossover is placed after installing speakers, or how easy it is to change the settings on it?
