You have resistance build somewhere in a ground. If nothing has changed and you haven't recently added anything to the mix, I would check all of your ground connections. They can loosen from vibration or become bad from corrosion, especially when left bare and exposed to weather.

That's the plan for tomorrow.  I did spray all the connections with battery terminal spray . I'm wondering if it's worked itself between the contacts . The noise is just when I turn the radio on or connect with Bluetooth.  It's fairly quiet , and kinda builds a bit ; then goes away .

  2. The alt is a new mechman 370. I've reduced it by half by adding short grounds straight to the body from the amp . I think my main ground wires ar to long . I have them straight to the frame . Also I'm pulling the deck ,and grounding it straight to the body instead of the factory supplied wire under the dash.

I have same issue with my cousins tahoe. I have been through new rca wires and isolators and ground locations. Next step is to remove the alt from the mix and see if it needs new bushings or bearing. The noise he is getting seems like alt whine over ground loop anyway but he was hoping to be a cheap fix. If you need any help we will be glad to help since you are at least taking the time to read the research on here.

  3. So as of yesterday I now have a small amount of noise creeping in . Nothings changed .  I have two batteries under the hood , both are grounded to the frame with 0 gauge. The alt body is grounded to one of the batteries.  All the amps are grounded to a distribution block which is grounded to the frame ,and body . I'm going to check all the connections , but am I doing something wrong.  I never had any noise before yesterday.

    You mean it never didn't?

    Ok.... more than usual .

My music taste is all over the board . I can't begin to afford all the cds i can stream  . I've been happy with Google play ,but lately its been crappy .  I'm considering tidal of something else.

I wouldn't. Not braced for that. That enclosure is accounting the drivers being in there so it would have too much air space and would be tuned incorrectly. You would need a completely different design for inverted drivers.

Also, yes, you would wire the same. Just an observation brother.

Wait .. what ? I knew it would change the tuning a bit . I assumed it would be a bit lower . I had no idea the you would need to brace different, or design diffrent; well other than airspace . Tbh I'm going to try running them inverted anyway . The worst that can happen is I won't like the sound right ?? I wish I had sprung for a plexI window to show off the great looking subs ....

What does High Output Enclosures charge for a box like this? If you don't mind me asking. The guy I have build my boxes is always super busy around this time of year so I may have to find someone else to build my box for my Cruze. Still trying to figure out what subs I want to run. Sorry not trying to get off topic just curious about the pricing.

I think I'm around $600 shipped . That's coated with bedliner .  High output enclosures is quite busy too .

  7. I figured it was part of the problem . The other is the fact that overexcursion  has torn the surrounds on one of my mids ....  I think one of my tweeters has failed as well . I ordered a pair of evil 6.5 . I got the 8 ohm version because I have such a large amp for my mids . I had originally planned to run at least a few drivers on it .  The 8 ohm should drop the amps output to like 175 watts . So it looks lie I get to start over once my replacement diaphragm,  and mids get here . I sure hope they can hang . These millies are mid bass monsters . I'm hoping to get the surround replaced ,If I can find somewhere to do it ??
