    IB in 97 trans am

Hey guys, so my girlfriends brother has a trans am and is trying to find a sub to go in it. the problem is he doesn't want to lose the t-top space in the back which means no box for a sub. In his car there is a board that seals off the hole where the sub is sitting. When the trunk is shut, it's sealed off. Anyways my question is what's a good sub to use for a set up like this? (10in under $200) (not his trunk, just pic for reference) Thank you.

    IB in 97 trans am

smashedz28 thank you for such a quick reply. I'll show him the options and see what he thinks. Personally i would go with the last option. So the IB option is out of the question? I mean he has sum old sub in there right now and it doesn't sound too bad, of course it cannot be compared to a boxed sub.

  7. I'm probably gonna sound really dumb but heres the question would there be a huge difference on one SS rl-p 12" D2 using those amps. i mean theres a 200watt diff. between them two, would those 200wats have a huge impact on that sub? sorry for dumb questions dan

    Sundown: SAZ-1500D vs. SAE-1000D

thank you for a quick reply well that sub's rated at 1000rms so i mean 800rms at 2ohm with the 1500d would probably be plenty but if there's not too much of a difference i don't see the need to waste money unless for the upgrading part as you said.

    Will these fit?

Alright guys i have a 99 monte carlo and the factory speaker size is 5.25" but i found very nice 6.5 speakers Image Dynamics CTX65CS i think for the price they are unbeatable but heres my questions is there any easy way to fit those into my car without any custom fabrication? Any help is appreciated. dan
  10. im looking at these Rockford Fosgate Power T152S what you guys think about them? im in a price range below 200 if any one got any better suggestions for 5.25" front stage. thank you dan
  11. I'm asking for help on choosing an HU because i'm torn between these two. I'm not to crazy about all the setting so i didn't go the 880 way. Pioneer i know about the micro fuse problem but that can be avoided by grounding it properly. Alpine don't know much about it. does any one have experience with sat radio and i-pod on these two? cuz im gonna be goin with a sat radio they seem like nice additions. thank you dan
  12. thanks for the input man i'm kinda scared to go with pioneer now. and sorry man thats just what i read on sum other forums, i decided to ask myself to find out more. i need something that enough setting to mess around, nice eq, after this im gonna get an amp for the front stage and the sub stage. i read that alpine has 3 preamp outputs so that would be perfect. also its cheaper. im still leanin towards pioneer but i dont want the stupid whining problems

    Great Product

Hey guys I've been snooping around this forum for the past week and found out that the RL-p 12" D4 is not in stock. Kinda upset but then again D2 is in stock which is shocking to me because I've read that 2ohm config. would be a cheaper one to run in overall result of watts per dollars spent. Please don't judge me by my lack of knowledge but that's just what came to my head. Please tell me different because I wanted to get D4 for a long time and they seem to be more popular over D2. Thanks in advance Dan K

thanks for steering me away from that direction. i found these two amps that seem very nice, JL AUDIO 1000/1v2, i heard that its supposed to be in 1200watt range. *1000W 1.5-4 ohms Cadence DCA-2500.1 a lil lower price and more power. *100W @ 4 ohms (a lil chitty or whats goin on here?) *1500W @ 2 ohms *2500W @ 1 ohms any suggestions? dan

thanks for all the answers guys i went and read some stuff on my own and i think with that and your help i have a better understand now. i came up with this combo subs: 2 RL-p 12" D2 amp: Hifonics BXi 2608D * 4 ohms: 850 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan. * 1 ohm: 2600 watts x 1 chan. so this should give me a solid 800watts to each if its overrated any one have any other suggestions for an amp or have experienced this amp please let me now thanks dan

Alright sorry while confusing myself I confused you. I'm really new to this stuff sorry. Parallel D2 = 2ohms and Series D2 = .5ohms? Correct me if I'm wrong I'm still learning. and I was looking at this amp Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D, 1500 watts x 1 1 ohm 800 watts x 1 2 ohms 400 watts x 1 4 ohms Does that mean I'll only be getting 800W to each sub if put parallel? lol i sound like a retard i just need couple of things explained thanks

    Great Product

I do understand that D2 is 2ohm and D4 is 4ohm that's how you match up the amp with the sub. My questions is what's a cheaper way to do and what's the better way to go?
