This is the current measurements that i have for two 18's internal dimensions 16.5"H x25"W x 49"D internal measurement from wheel well is 6"H x 19"xWx 49"D Port Area 16.5" x7" =115.5 sq inches port lenth 28" Outside dimensions is 18"H 26.5"Wx 50.5"D is it possible to make box taller? I'm thinking of changing the height from 18nches to 21.5" i'm trying to shoot for 12 cubes net .after port displacement. My port area will also change from 16.5"x 7" =115.5 sq to 20" x 7"=140sq. I'm using two common chamber boxes , the measurements i gave so far is for one enclosure. btw i should end up with 320sq of port area on both boxes combined. The question is goin 3.5" taller how much airspace will i gain. current airspace is 8cft net per box .

My current box is 16cf net. with 232sq inches of port area, it was built for four 18's The first set of subs eD 19ov.2s [ pros] accurate, clean bass deep impact [ cons] weak suspension second set up audioque hdc3 18's [pros] durable, and veryloud [cons ] sounds like horse ass, lowend sounded hollow. Now i'm lookin at SSA X con. Just wanna know should i swap out 18s or build a new baffle and step down to 15's since my air space is limited for most 18s. I'm not an spl fiend nor an sq purist i just want a daily set that pounds hard and sound great at the same time btw my ports on my box is tuned@33hz

O.k. i have a 4.25cft box net volume tune@35hz, with 49 Square inches of port. It used to have Ed 19ov.2 in it , but now i want to upgrade . Deciding between three subs Fi bl 18", Audioque Hdc3 18" or Pap WMD 18. The amp i'm using is eD Nine.1. So which sub would work best?

A month ago i bought a WMD sub the shit start smelling during 20 minutes of play time and then it start making noise, so i trashed it. So now i'm playing with the Hdc318 so far no stinky smell or rubbing voice coil. It sound pretty decent for one sub but seems to lack output. To make a long story short should i shoot for a bigger box with more port area or add more power? AudioQue specs 6cubes net tune @38hz port area 96sq. inches. What should i do i plan to rebulid. btw i thought about buying a bl but the hdc3 is on sale for $294 shipped. I couldn't resist so i bought it. I like it so far just need the right specs for it to Pound. Whats greater 4 cube box on 2400- 3k watts per sub? or 6 cubes on 1200-1500watts per sub One more Question whats the best location for the port to be facing in an suv for best results?

I Know how to set my gains, but i was wondering if my factory headunit and basscube has anything to do with it. for example i install the sub, start playing it, and then it start to smell after that the sub has a scatching sound.

I've notice WMD 18s on sale $175ea. I just wanna know i does it perform as far as spl/sq goes? any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

x4 I'm now buying Pierce Audio subs, but wanna know if the eD amps are worth keepin around.

They come in D/1 D/2 and D/4.

I could run those amps strapped, besides it would cheaper for me to add two amps than to start all over from scratch. The SAZ 4500D would be nice to have , i would actually gain more power with four 1200Ds.

I've decide on purchasing WMD series sub, it actually came close for my nstall needs. Should I keep my amps? they are the eD nine.1 class d. I don't have any problems with them, i just wanna know if its putting out true rms power. I thought about buying a SAZ 4000 to power my four 18"s, but since iv'e already on two nine.1s ,it's probably cheaper just to add two more amps and call it the day.

You didn't give us any goals or anything... Try giving us more details or we can't really answer you. P.S. 4.25cft and 49 inches of port is not very much at all for an 18. I would suggest getting a 15 or making a bigger box, but again we don't know if you can make a new box because you didn't specify a car. My goal is to get louder.I wan't something that rocks. this will be daily setup not spl and i don't have the room for a bigger box.
