So I'll need a battery with at least 100ah, which the yellow top SHOULD cover. I want to be completely sure about this though.
EDIT: Great video by the way. Thank you.

I am getting 15's very soon. Two aq hdc3's off of a 2200d.
My electrical now is a 200amp alt, 1/0 big three, and yellow top under the hood.
All this is on a diesel engine, that of course runs at lower rpms than a traditional gas engine.
I have the smallest pulley I can put on the alternator already installed, and am scared the voltage may
not be enough to back this system.
Would another battery be needed? If so which one, and for the best price? By the way, this is a daily setup.

I might just go with the 2000D because of the crazy sale. Affordable being within 500 dollar range. Sorry I left that out.

That thing looks like a monster. Very nice.

I'm on the search for an affordable amp that will do rated power.
Looking for 2000w @ 1ohm.
It will be pushing hopefully a pair of Icon 15's or z15's.
Electrical: 200amp h.o Alternator
Optima yellow under the hood
1/0 Big three.
Also on the search for a decent battery to add to the back if need be.

Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them thebill is $30, payable in advance.
So, they each pay the clerk $10 and goto their room.
A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made anerror and overcharged the trio by $5.
He asks the bellhop to return $5to the 3 friends who had just checked in.
The bellhop sees this as anopportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would havea tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell themthat the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to eachof the friends.
He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day!
Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid$9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night.
We know thebellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30which was originally spent.
Where did the other dollar go????
To the Pepsi Machine in the hall. Just like spending 2.50 at the lobby when the machine is 1 dollar this question makes no sense.
Your doin the math wrong.
They paid 30 total. 5 change is coming back so they actually paid 8.33 a piece. As such thats 25 bucks (one paid 8.34). The other dollar never dissapeared.
10x3=30
30-2=28 (2 the bell hop stole)
28-3=25 (the 3 dollar refund)
So it all adds up.
28
Yeah I just redid the math. This little riddle was pretty good.

Well 25 + 3 = 28, and 28 + 2 = 30
But
9 x 3 = 27, and 27 + 2 = 29
This is driving me crazy. Man, I took it.
EDIT: My guess is he gave it to them.
EDIT x2:
Ok so i figured it out.
In fact the owed $8.33 each because if he overcharged them by $5, 25/3 = 8.33. So technically he is still overcharging them.

I think I may go along with two z15s and a 2000d.

Naw the sell is still going on for the Z15's, Jacob says he has a fair amount of them left (more D2's than D4's).
Ah word. I'm gonna go check that out.

to stick with your price range, two SA-12's from Sundown and a 1500d would be great. would kick the shit out of the type R's, that's for sure. you never stated what amp you have/were using? I am guessing something that puts out ~800 watts. the SA-12's on same power as the type R's would already be louder, so also moving up into the ~1800 watt range would be a huge upgrade.
also, you need another battery. sorry but a single yellow top isn't shit. neither is a 200 amp alternator if it simply a re-spun OEM case, because then it is actually putting out less at idle than the stock alty. idle amperage is key. what kind of alty is it?
To be honest I am not quite sure what brand the alternator is, but since I'm probably getting the Volvo, I'll be getting a new alternator.
I'll also have to re-run the 1/0 big three.
And i have been eying the SSA Icon 15's.
EDIT: I guess i just missed those great deals on the z-15's, huh?

Well my budget is upwards of $700-$800+ and I have been really looking at the xcon's because of how musical they are.
I have a 200amp Alternator and 1/0 grounds with an optima yellow in the front.
I really don't want to go as big as 18's. 15's are about the largest I would like.
This actually might be going into a volvo stationwagon, because the transmission just went on the Range Rover.

Haha, thanks for the replies so far.
I forgot to add:
I want it for my pleasure to listen to, but also loud enough to make people regret riding with me. I want to feel the notes more so than hear them.
I feel it's time to upgrade because this system is just getting old and just not loud enough for me anymore, nor as musical as I would like.
I listen to mainly rap and reggae. Reggae the most often, but there are those days that I just feel the need to listen to some Jeezy, Gucci, or any Chopped & Screwed music.

Ok, so I already have two 12" Alpine Type R's. I am deciding that it is about time to finally upgrade the sound system.
These are the three plans I am coming up with:
1) Buy two more Type R's and another amp, and run four twelves.
2) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two more powerful 12's and a new amp.
3) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two 15's and a new amp.
This is all in a 1993 Range Rover LWB.

People do say that the SSA Xcon is designed exactly for this, but I do not have any personal experience with it.
