What is the best way to fix rattles in my vehicle. I have a Tahoe and pushing 1100W over 2 12" IA's ,rattle problems are in door panels and mostly headliner(specifically the temp. control unit in rear headliner) Anyone w/ a Tahoe that knows exactly what I'm talking about please respond.

Thanks for a reply from someone that sounds like they give a shit. I,m not stupid just new to high powered systems. Yes I have put pressure on the control panel and it is a problem. I was asking if someone out there that's not an arseho has a Tahoe and has found a trick to securing it to solve the problem. Because different songs require different bass levels. A standard mm cant keep up with changes that fast but it does give you an idea if you are nearing your desired max power. I figured with technology they may make one that compensates for that and can be somewhat accurate. By the way, I'm a low-voltage electrician by trade so I do know a little about voltage changes.

Oh, believe me , it gets plenty loud enough to drown out rattles but I don"t want to listen to it that loud ALL the time. Do you know how expensive hearing aids are? What did you say? LOL I was just wondering if there is a trick to deaden that temp control console without matting the whole headliner.

What should I set the phase to on my mono amp if my 4ch. has no phase adj.

I put 2 12" Lethal Injections in a custom 4.25^3ft. @ 35Hz box. Hifonics 1608d 1100w @ 2ohms. Set the amp to 43v with a 45Hz tone. At first I forgot to screw them down so they were bouncing all over at full power before I realized it. The lows sound good and loud but the bass kicks don't pound like they should. how can I test them.

Its a Tahoe. It's the subs. They don't look right when they hit, like vibrate.

The "bass kicks" are higher bass frequencies, which should be handled by the front speakers. But, if you don't have front speakers that perform well, you could cross over the subwoofer at a higher frequency. Try a higher crossover frequency. that helps but it sounds like crap-rattles rather than pound. The box is sound.

The lows sound great the bass kicks just aren't there and sound like crap. The subs and amp were new.

The gain was set to 1100w with a meter and I have turned it down. Other people have told me something is missing, a couple of coils maybe?

It's not that. During the songs that have a bunch of current flowing through them they kinda smell burnt.

I installed 2-12" IA Lethal Injections (600W ea.) in a custom box, 4.25 cu.ft. @ 33Hz (plans from Fisher Customs). They're powered w/a Hifonics 1608D (1100W @ 2 Ohms). The coils are wired in parallel then the subs in series giving a load impedence of 1.7 Ohms. I set the gain w/a 45Hz tone to a 43v output. It sounds terrible! And not very loud. The Alpine PL5 (250W powered Lat sub) it replaced sounded better and louder. I am getting some significant dimming so there's a lot of current flow. Are the amp ratings possibly in peak pwr. giving only about 200W ea.? I thought they were rms, the manual doesn't specify. At lower volume (20/35 and below) the subs are almost non-existent. All of the components are new. I also installed a 4ch. for the doors and it sounds great. What did I do wrong? why would I get High voltage out if that was the case?

No effect! I did not ground the engine block to the chassis (So the big 2 are done). Will that make that much of a difference or is that just for noise reduction?

I'm thinking it's the electrical system. The battery is new and the big three is done but the alt is probably only 105a. I disconnected the 4ch and only had the subs runnin' and they're almost non existent the lows aren't there and when it hits it just rattles. I know I probably need a 200a alt but should it be that bad without it?

All wiring checks out. I have 43v out with a 45hz tone. It acts like it's not getting much power. Also- when I plug in the bass knob the power light on the amp dims, what's up with that?

I put a 1608D in my Tahoe today pushing 1100W @ 2 Ohms. I also have a 300W 4ch. Even with the big 3 there is significant dimming. A Tahoe alt is probably 135A. The Hifonics amp has 2 70A fuses. Do the math!

Is there a vendor that builds a box for Lethal Injections specs, preferred w/neon. If I were to build one what would it be? Looking for best of both worlds-Low lows with wide freq. range. No space req. (Tahoe)

Fisher has plans for a 4^3ft. box @35hz 62.5sq.in. port and a 4.5^3ft. box @33hz 52.5sq.in. port. The smaller box is shorter and deeper with subs front, vent front. The larger is taller and more narrow with subs top, vertical vent front. Which would be better for my Lethal Injections (dual 12)? For everyday listening, no comp. Rock, pop, Limp Bizkit, Eminem & Kid rock are as close to rap as it gets.

Got 2-12" Lethal Injections coming. 600W rated rms, they'll be getting 600Wrms ea. @2ohms. Displacement .13. Sealed or ported? Flared or rectangular ports? Internal volume? Two chambers or one? Does port size determine tuning freq.?
