^^^^^^^^^ Hey Justin, Whats goin on with the alternator? Have u called Nate to see if he could fix it? I gotta tell ya, mine has made all the difference in the world. He had swapped out the voltage regulator in mine and, waa laa, it works great. I still see some little dips on real strong passages, but had to readjust all my gains after I got it back in to deal with the extra voltage. I hope he can git r dun for ya.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Yeah, I just read yours and Kents reply.........I guess Alpine is the chit now for a whole bunch of newbies, let them have at it. I just wouldn't want to be answering the phone line in a couple weeks they have a whole bunch of subs the RMA How many do you really think will hold up to 1700 watts with hit and miss boxes? Gotta love the sheep (no Jmac "runs screaming" not that way )

    final system layout

I think the sheer dynamics of what you have in the works is going to be killer. At 300+ per driver, transients will NEVER be an issue. I did do a post in the component section for the scanspeaks in alpine clothing, if anyone is interested, but man Dave, I would sure love to hear yours when it is up and running. I have 4 of the Seas Lotus, I am debating 250 watts each or dropping 2 and keeping it somewhat simple, and just doing a 2 way. I have a 3-way passive set-up at the moment that was a real female dog to get tuned, but now that it is....I gotta admit loving that dedicated mid in their. I am dying to get the Lotus in there, but took a while to decide on the tweet. Looks like I did good......makes feel a lot more secure in my choice to see you are running the metal dome version.

Do you already have the tweets? I just ordered a set of the SPX-177T's this morning. I got them at $60 a tweet. Gonna match them with some Seas Lotus I have sitting here.....but yes your amp is bigger than mine. Lemme know if you want the place I ordered from this morning.

    Is 600 watts enough for RL-p 12"

Great choice on the sub, I love mine more and more everyday. I run 1200 watts to mine daily, but I have the gains set accordingly. Give her a good couple weeks to really break in and you won't be disappointed. For a sealed enclosure, IMO 1.25-1.3 is just right. Good low end extension, and SQ like no tomorrow. 600 watts should do fine with your setup.

Bored... so i post PICS!!!! lots

I have an old Alpine from that time frame as well as a Kenwood tape deck even older. I have a Kicker Impulse 65 X 2 from then, some Quarts, some old RF 10's, old scool rocks

    I <3 SLCs

Sweeeeeeetnesss!!!!! I have a set of the 4" pro's still sitting in a box that I have yet to hear, gonna have to do something about that myself.
  14. Nah, your ugly, that Eclipse is a beauty when installed. The ergonomics take a day or two to get used to, but worth it IMO. I loves my new one. I have the built in timing, x-overs, 10 band parametric eq, everything I was looking for to go active. I have to agree with above, Eclipse, Pioneer, Alpine.....in that order.

    NO SOUND!!!!

I'd start with checking the fuses, from there check the cd changer and see if the is power on it's terminal strips. I'll be watching for your answers.
  17. being a Chevy kinda guy, it kills me to say that the Toyota 22re for longevity and maintainence is hard to beat. The Nissan k4 (hardbodies late 80's early 90's) is a reliable, buildable, and mine did 0-100 mph in four short shifts, 5th was engaged at 120. Headers, custom exhaust, MSD, and ported and polished heads made mine a real sleeper. Oh yeah, traded in at 249,000 miles. I now drive the GM 5.3 liter small block, no mods, and in 11 months I have put 60,000 miles on this one, will keep this one till it dies. No issues to date, and 19-20 highway, lovin it.
  18. I have the 250 amp large case as well. My truck idles at the same RPM, with a slight tap of the gass, I jump to about 15 volts at the terminal of the alt. I can feel your pain, it crushed me to pull mine out and ship it back.
  19. Its been in since last Friday. No message alert from the computer. My conscern is that when I add the 1100rms the voltage is going to drop low enough that the Memphis is gonna fry. sad.gif I just put mine in this morning. Got up real early and took a huge chance and put it in before going to a meeting. With the voltage you are seeing I put my trusty ole Fluke to it and I am seeing 14.3 at idle with mine. When I got it the first time and put it in, I got a message on the computer immediatly warning me that the truck was running off battery. I sent it back about 3 weeks ago and talked to Nate last week, he was quite busy with the group buy thing but had thrown it on his truck and got same response. He put a new voltage regulator in it and like I say, 14.3 at idle. I would suspect that first, and thats probably what the alternator shop that builds them near you will replace.

    12'' RL-P rock music

You can.....especially if your amp starts choking out for power and starts clipping. I have 1200 going to mine in that setup and keep my gains at aout half to help prevent this and keep my hearing intact With clean power to it, you could probably give her all of it and make her beg for more but....clipping at these levels will kill her quick, got to be very careful with the gains.

    Big'uns!

I got the real deal crimps for 750, of course it takes a hydraulic crimper to make the connects. I have ran miles of the single 750kcmil. I have some pics around here of some batteries that are only 2 volts and hundreds of amps and weigh about 500 lbs per battery. We used it for wiring up the battery back-up systems in the telecom world. I know of an installer that came home and saw a strange vehicle in his driveway, so he proceeded to take an 18" piece and put his wife's lover in the hospital with 18 fractures (including 2 in the dudes skull), she dove out the window and escaped his wrath, but when in court he claimed temp insanity and walked. The poor lover boy may never walk again, lost use of his right arm and is a very slow speaker these days. I am willing to bet he never sleeps with another man's wife again.
  22. Does your message center give you any type of alert? When I first got mine, it didn't charge at all but I wrote it off to shipping damage as the stators were bent up. Nate put a new voltage regulator in, am gonna test it out tomorrow. Did you just put it in today?
  23. Hey Jntar I just got mine back tonight. What kinda issues you having?
