  1. If you want to play daily choose the SMD, it's worth it if you can afford it. Sounds better.

But what car? How much power? What kind of music do you want to play?

Ask a specific question instead of a random question.

  2. which sub do u guys think is louder? both in there optimal boxes with rms power going to each in the same vehicle. iv been watching video on both and it got me thiinking

Are you building a SPL ,competition setup only?

    If yes, then it matters.

If this is going to be a daily driver then choose the cheapest one.

  3. BUt your woofers don't have the BLING BLING...

(End of trying to be funny.)

In all seriousness, the quality you guys deliver is great.

And i like that you guys don't need to fancy everything up to make it sell.

    A nice, "sophisticated";clean look.

  4. Too bad people like to fuck up ferrari's sometimes, but ok they payed for it so they can do whatever they want.

That's probably one of the reasons ferrari only sells some cars to some selected people instead of just everyone.

    Install looks good.

  5. i do realize lol,

    Just for fun really.

My frat bro has a bike club that goes out of town riding like a couple times a month, so i plan on joining up.

guy i work wt laid his bike down yesterday after a car turned in front of him smh :ohnoes9: hes been ridin for yrs and is 36.

i guess i was a bit off when i said no exp lol, i know how to ride just need better clutch control, but dont have my own bike soooo there u have it.

    im 5'9 230 btw

    230pounds is what 100kg?

That's not a reason to go bigger then 600cc on a SS.(SS=supersport like yamaha r6)

Seriously start out with a 250cc kawasaki or if you really want to be fast buy a 600cc.

But it's not very smart to start out on a 600cc, your riding skills won't be as good as if you start out with a 250cc.

You said you test drove a 1000cc but test driving isnt the same as owning one, i have test drivin a almost 200hp BMW liter bike and i felt quite confident till you actually use the throttle more then 1/8th..

Your saying you don't have good clutch control and that is a serious problem on a liter or 600cc bike.

A liter bike is faster to 60mph but not by much because the grip and control of a wheelie is a problem.

Both can get you over 60mph in first gear. Top speed is rediculous high too..

Oh and best tip ever, buy the best protection you can afford if you think your budget is big enough double it. ;)

Seriously think about it , buy a second hand cheap 250-400cc bike and don't worry about dropping it, parts are cheaper too if you break something.

You will learn how to ride better one a small capacity engine bike then on a liter or 600cc bike.

  6. i think you fried it in the beginning.

a 275a alternator needs to supply over 400 amps to 2 small batteries with almost no reserve.

In the begining he had a AQ2200d, sooooo.

But regardless, why didn't Ohio Gen catch it if it had a problem in the begining when he sent it back? Unless they didn't want to do warranty work on it.

And Mechman, I know I gave you a hard time in that one thread, still didn't change the fact I know yall do very good work and have a quality product with good customer service.

I meant in the beginning when he had the 3500. -_-

  7. why don't you layout your setup so we can see what you have then tell us how you are going to use your setup primarily so your question can be answered easier.

Agreed. I have multiple runs of 1/0 and it dropped my voltage to 9.4volts wtf. Then I switched and ran a single run of 8 gauge and bam 16.5 volt.

Wtf. There has to be something wrong then... (or is this a joke ? because it seems like it) :peepwall:

Running 16.5 volts on 8 gauge? I think its a joke ... XD

you can run millions of volts thru 8 guage ;) (no joke :) )

It's amps that heat up the wire.

  9. subwoofers don't have to go thru a surface, most of the sound comes from the port or in a sealed enclosure it doesn't really mathers because low frequencies are not directional.

Mids will sound bad when reversed because the motor+basket are obstructing the sound, or the sound has to go thru sheetmetal and deforms.

  10. Well it was 100 degrees out and I had my alpine mx bass boost off.and I had the subs wired paralelle to 1 ohm.I just think they were warm from the weather to be honest. Gain on the amp was 3/4 up but the knob was only at half.only one of the subs spiders got a tear..its soo Damn small tho.I just don't know Wat to do.does it need a re cone for somethin so tiny or can it be repaired? I'll have pics of it up tomoro.it would be a shame if all these new parts had to be torn off lol but it is Wat it is.

The tear could also be from clipping.

But the heat could be from just the weather .

Just set your gain correctly and turn the bass knob to as much as you want, normally they should easily handle a 1500 in free air.

Can anyone point out why i got -2 reputation for this comment?(i wanna know, i know i can easily be wrong, can't always be correct)

Clipping can add to the wear and tear of a spider.(notice that i said COULD be)

Not saying that it is the way to break in subwoofers.(no need to, i never do it.)

No need fOr a break in period, they're not a car. They'll naturally break in overtime,

    Car's don't need a break in period neither.(common misconception.)

  12. im leaning more towards the nightshade or a zcon because i really wanna hit lows with authority but also get stupid loud haha, iv been told that the btl will be the louder of the 3 but im thinkin it wont hit lows how i want it too, i have a bl and my w7 hit lows better but the bl is louder

Logical since the BL xmax is 18mm, but still in a good box you shouldn't HEAR a difference.

  13. Nobody knows which one is louder, so don't ask for it.

One can be louder in a certain application and then lose in the other.

Every sub listed will do what it needs to do, worry more about the box and electrical and front stage to keep up with the bass.

  14. look up ohms law.

    Or read this :P

    paralell:=

    end load= (1/6+1/6+1/6)^-1

    (0.16667+0.16667+0.16667)^-1

    =(1/0.16667)*3

    =2 ohms

that was a exampl with 6 ohm drivers, 3 of them.

    Series is easy:

Just count all the ohms together: exapmle: 6+6+6=18 ohms.
