Got more pics.... Lil more adjustments also... Went to 32 hrtz Besides a 5 gallon bucket... Screw holes filled with putty... Looks like it has the chicken pox!! LOL Now debating on carpet or vinyl, probably carpet... :bigclap: Oh also waiting to get another amp...

I have a quick question to this topic... Is it better to have the first layer flushed inside the box and the 2nd layer on top??? If you would do that, you could glue and screw first layer from the sides and then glue and screw 2nd layer from the top... Does that make any sense?? Just wondering how to put baffle on my box...
-
1st time bracing... Is this good???..... I put 1/4 round on bottom and glued like a madman to have a better seal... Making sure there is no leaks... Also, should I put something to brace the bottom... Like this??? And another one across from that bracing?? The more replies the merrier... I don't mind If ya say it looks weird or crazy... Like I said... This is my first braced box!!

What specs do you have for the box? Internal dimensions? I know you said you had 40x36x20 initially, what size do you have now? W/ or w/o the double baffle? I'd have to agree with you, you really don't have the accommodations to do anything other than subs up. Two 15's forward or back would be fine, but I wouldn't recommend two firing forward AND two back - you'd end up with some funky cancellations. I.D. is 38.5 x 32.5 x 22 .. Had 38.5 x 34.5 x 22 but when I measured from middle of seat to back hatch, I lost a couple of inches!! Measure twice(or 5 times LOL) cut (or build LMAO) once...
-
Not enuff room... total 35" from back seat to hatch need at leats 34" You need at least 6" from port to hatch...
-
Double on top... subs and port facing upward. Well I meant the plane the subs will be on. Why did you decide on subs up and ports up? Only way to fit them in there without losing back seats or building a wall...

Double on top... subs and port facing upward.

Chea, I will be bracing it then, but first will add more glue in corners for better seal... Also, it will be baffled on top definatly... I have 2 top pieces cut but no port or holes in it yet... Thanks a lot peeps!! All info and opinions are more than welcomed!!

Oh.... So fiberglass inside will not help with the flex?? I will do 45s and brace it with with the 2x2 then... Thanx. I'm glad I got this before I went and glassed it!!!
-
I use screws..... But I'm an idiot!!! I have flaws!!! Furthermore, it's your build and like you said,if it doesn't work, try it again!! LMAO!!! Sorry, just wanted to throw my .02 in!!

Evens here.... Kenwood KDC-MP435U USB Interface. Usually on 12-14 unless I want to blare it, then it goes to 20-24 and sub gain on h.u. to +5.

Resin is used to smooth out the interior of the box for air flow but fibreglass inside a box doesn't work as bracing. With a box that big, you would be better off chucking in some bracing. Bracing... Would that be 45ing the corners or is that throwing the all thread from 1 side to the other or both?? Boy!! Did I get the wrong info from the fiberglass guy!!! :puzzled::puzzled:

Chea, but I can't do the fiberglass myself... . I live in an apt complex and the smell would overwhelm everybody (not in a good way)... I will post more pics when I get more done...

Thanks Adrian!!

Pieces cut Had to make sure I cut them right LOL!! Had to recheck and move a couple sides around for perfect fit... Glued and screwed...(Got a lil happy with the glue there!! ) The fiberglass thats ganna be resined inside box instead of double layer or bracing. (hope it works)
