Good thing your coming out with all this new stuff right when I'm ready to do another big build. All JL in the dodge, Sundown and crescendo in the mustang, and all SSA in the Cruze just sounds like a good idea.  Expect a order from me soon Aaron. You guys got me curious to how a all SSA system would sound. I truly hope there half as good as everyone says.

Like sex in your ear! Post pics & good luck!

Or rip them to your phone or CD.  I carry a test tone CD with me always in the car

I do the same on a flash drive & disc in my console. Tones on 5 second incriminates and step down sine sweep for tuning.

Just make sure when you generate the tones, that you do not go over peak on the program eq. Last thing you want is clipped signals for referencing. Zoom in and look at the wave so it does not end at anything other than zero or you will hear a popping sound. On a low end for subs I prefer using a mono track so that there is no different end in the wave between left & right channels.

Not really. Why does everyone keep saying install is everything?

Install is everything...You can't just lay speakers inside your car or truck, run wire to them and expect to get the best performance out of whatever brand you bought. The quality of the equipment can only take your expectations so far. If you factor in mounting locations, materials, as well as many other variables you can either have a high quality item sound like ass or be a thing of acoustical bliss.

  4. More power would not necessarily mean larger net volume internally. I have built many, I mean many test enclosures for the icons I have and it yielded different results almost every time to the ear. To some people they can hear very minor variances in output and tuning with design & materials. However this does involve wasting a buttload of materials scrapping old ideas. That's why a well designed and built enclosure can trump more power almost every time.

  5. Give him a chance, I hope this is a new day here on ssa.  Everyone here gets respect & benifit of the doubt. Let bygones be bygones. Lord knows I've come off like an ass a time or two.

Billy I hope you snap some pics & share them! Good luck on your new build!
