so you basically wanna know how we think it will sound if you seal it, with the sub facing towards the rear license plate? how do you expect a 15" sub to fit in a space 15" high? other then that i have no input, i don't have a trunked vehicle. just thought i'd make it clear for the fellow readers..

the search function doesn't like it when i search for anything about the Q's and i searched backa couple pages and didn't find what i was looking for. anyways, i'm considering upgrading to a second Q. and i have 2 questions. i would rather not half to upgrade my alt, seeing as i just got a brand new stock alt put in 2 days ago cause my old one completely went out. and i can't return it now that it's in.. (and i don'th ave money now.) so i want to know if my current SAE will be enough for 2 Fi Q's? and i know it'll power them, and probably be just fine. but what i'm asking is will it be worth upgrading to a 1500? i would go 2000 but i'd rather not have to upgrade my electrical. also, since i will have 1 broken in Q, and 1 brand new Q, shouldi break in the new Q before i put them together? or can put them together and just take it easy?

i kinda want low end. actually i really want low end. mainly because i've never really felt it before. people say the Q gets really low. well mine gets low i suppose, but maybe i am just not thinking of low as what really is low. when i hear people say it gets the lows really well, then it's audible or present, you can feel it. well on my test tone cd, it goes up 5hz each track. and you can really feel 45, and kinda feel 40. 35hz is there, but not there.. its not hitting as hard as i am expecting it too by reading peoples reviews on the lows. and 30 you can barely feel it. when i set my gains using a DMM, i checked the volts i was getting from my amp at ranges from 30-60hz. but i tuned it to the 50hz tone. i'm suppose to put out 31.6v according to the sticky on SSA, 30hz - ~28v 35hz - ~31.3v 40hz - ~30v 45hz - ~31v 50hz - 31.6v 55hz - ~29v 60hz - ~28v idk if that's pretty normal, i have my LPF on my amp set somewhere around 50-60hz (i think..). does that seem right? but anyways the lows just don't feel there. keep in mind my box is sealed at 1.5cuft before displacements

yea, that pretty much sums it all up. sounds exactly like what i do. but i grew up without takin pain meds. like if i was to fall off my bike and gash my leg open or something like that when i was little, i hardly ever took some tylonol or anything. no reason specifically, i guess i just wanted to be a big boy. kinda same thing goes for here, except i really can't feel it, or think of it as pain untill it gets really bad and i can't get it out of my head, or i can't do a normal task because of it's too much. everything under that, with the exception of trying to go to sleep (man that is the worst thing ever!) i can easily deal with. there has only been one time i have been in truely deep pain and was freaking out because it wouldnt go away. and that was before i completely woke up after my first foot surgery, the nurse wanted me to wiggle my toes. and i tried and it was horrible, my foot honestly hurts right now thinking about it. it had me in tears, and didn't go away after however much morphine they gave me through the IV, and some of the oxy 5's. took almost 2 hours before it started wearing down. worst part is, the doctor first said that my first 4 surgeries would be my last, then i needed 2 more. and then they said that was it. then 3 days after my last surgery, they called me during dinner at olive garden, mmm, and said that they had a lady come in with an very similar foot disease as mine, and she will need surgeries for the rest of her life. they didn't expect it untill then. and they said that he fears i will be in the same situation, but we won't know untill a checkup later this year. if i do need surgeries he's assuming 2-4 surgeries (1-2 on each foot) every 5-7 yyears for the rest of my life, depending on how quickly my muscles develop, or under develop.

yea i know, but i read somewhere that i can still get them as a 1ohm load still! something about wiring hte subs in series together, but parallel to the amp? idk i don't ge tthe whole wiring thing exactly, like how it all works, i just know it does and i do what it says too. but if what i know is true, then that would be a .5 ohm load? i might sell the d2, and get 2 d1's. or i was also thinking about upgrading to 1 15'/2 12" BL, but i really really can't decide.

I know people that eat it like candy and don't get sick. Suppose everyone is different. I HATE taking any kind of medication, unless it's absolutely necessary (antibiotics). So I'll give it a go without any meds when I get them out. (We'll see how long that lasts. ) i just got done taking oxy 5's and oxy 15's for the last 2 months. those are way stronger then vics and perks. i was taking up to 4 of those 5's at a time just to make a little pain go away. i had a foot surgery in january and i was in a cast untill march 17th. and i took 3 of the 15's if it got bad. but i've been taking the 5's for the last 4 years. i've had 6 surgeries in the last 4 years. i've been in a wheelchair every semester of my high school life. but they had to upgrade me to the 15's cause the 5's weren't cutting it anymore. luckily i have a very strong self controll and i very easily kept myself from getting hooked on me. at one point i was getting scared cause i was lovin the feelin of being all doped up. but i only took them when it hurt. and i usually took an extra one or 2 just to make it go away for a longer time. but then i stopped hurtin, and so i stopped takin them. haven't been cravin since. and there sittin on my dressor right now, i'm looking at probably 20 or so of the 15's, and upwards of 40 of the 5's. i got my wisdome pulled last spring break, and i had to take 2 oxy 5's to deal with any of that pain. doctor says i have an incredibly high pain tolerence though, which is why i need such high drugs cause the only time i take them is when it's that annoying, sharp whining pain that won't go away at all. he said i'm weird haha

wtf makes it a "nice" or "right" enclosure? like everyone says that my 12" Q will sound amazing in the right box. how the hell do i find "the right" box without building multiple boxes? any suggestions? i just see it everywhere but i don't know where to start on building a good box to get alot out of the sub? i know the obvious, such as size. if iw as to go sealed, wouldn't pretty much any sealed box sound the same? if they were the same cuft that is. and i know theres alot of variables for ported boxes, but how do i know what sounds better then others? i just wonna do it right the first time. i'm currently in a 1.5 cuft sealed enclosure that a local audio shop "custom" built for me, idk if thats before or after sub, they never specified and i was too much of a noob back then to know the difference and ask. but this spring break i'm thinking about building my first box for this sub, making it ported. and going into my 1991 nissan pathfinder XE

if i remember right, google earth used to have street view, (free and pro) and now they don't have it on free. but i think google MAPS (not earth) has street view.

oh okayy, thats kinda what i thought about window bracing.. i've just never heard of it so i thought i'd clarify. that would be really cool to get a ball enclosure. but for some reason, i really don't think it would work as well as it would logically sound (no banking edges). it just sounds like it would be kinda... dead? i realize i need to use 45 degree angles on the corner bracing. i jsut don't know if it's worth it. making those cuts in my situation won't be very easy.

p.s. sketchup is free, from google. or atleast it was last i knew. and it's pretty easy to use, as long as your somewhat computer literate. i'm sure you could learn it just find and have it do what you need.

well if we were anywhere near eachother i could draft it up for you very easily on AutoCad. but seeing as i can't visualize waht your saying very well, i am no use righ tnow.
