  1. Anybody else on this forum enjoy fishing?  I know I haven't been on in a while, life gets busy.  Spend most of my free time doing family stuff.

My oldest is getting into audio, and is wanting me to get back into the big stereos again.  Might have some upgrades coming in the near future.

Tried to buy a Vette this week too.  Told the guy I had to stop by the bank first and he was 1.5 hours away.  He said, "see you in a couple hours."  One hour into the trip, he calls and tells me it's sold.  WTF?!

I fucking hate when people do this.

  3. Here in the land of tyranny, it's illegal to use a boat launch under the current lockdown order.

Apparently, covid spreads at a much higher rate out on the water.  Who would've thought, sitting on my boat away from others was such a risk.

  4. In January I did 8 sets of body weight circuit daily.

    Did:

    25 push ups

    10 pull ups

    25 crunches

    Per set

By the end of the month I was doing my last 2 sets of pull ups with an additional 45 lbs of weight on the belt.  Was strong AF.  But it was beating the crap out of me.  Need to add back in some daily stuff again, but not quite at that level.

Got a blast of moderna today, strange feeling.

I got the pfizer-biotech a week ago.  All I had was a little soreness at the injection site (but not even to the point it affected me)

My wife got the pfizer-biotech a few weeks before me, and her stomach is just starting to feel better now.  She got the headaches, stomach pain/upset, mouth sores (apparently one of the more rare side effects) and more from it.

    Yes to everything you said.

The ex knows how to bump cheep locks. Has the snap tool too and can use it. Her brother could pick an abloy if he knew there was a tool and had time so I'm not trying to out think or stop anyone.

I agree about everything you said and counter with the fact that I desire a better lock because I want to control the point of entry to something louder and more conspicuous than the woman who used to live here approaching the door and it looking like she used a key.  Until everything I have is scanned and backed up I make sure someone is always home.

Its about controlling access points and how frustrating and hopefully loud I make it

Silly I know, but I'm first principals and very very sick. Or else I would move.

The police directly told me that even if I had video of her doing some baaaaaaaad shit it probably wouldn't help them do anything that would help me.  I'm not afraid of violence, but I wouldn't put it past her trying to sneak in to break a computer or even just damage property.

My garage door keeps opening up..... it is what it is.

She is in a bad place.

That's a shitty situation to be in man.  Sorry that someone is that hellbent on wrecking your life.  Hopefully you can find a solution.  And reinforce all of your entry points.

I definitely agree with the concept of, make it too noisy and obvious to be worth trying.  This is what stops them most of the time.

If they think it's too likely they'll be caught they move on.  Although it sounds like in your situation it's very directed and not random.

Have you looked at bowley locks?

    https://www.bowleylockcompany.com/store/p11/Bowley_Lock_Grade_3.html

These are designed to prevent bumping/picking/raking.

  7. Like Sean said, all a super expensive lock will do in a residential setting is ensure a broken window or door jamb.

A true thief will break in, the lock is the least of their worries.

Most homes have some of the shittiest hardware ever securing their doors.  Take my house for example.  When i bought it, the entry doors had the shitty 1/2 factory screws in its hinges that would have came with the being pre-hung.

The metal jamb plate had the same 1/2 screws holding it on.

Any full grown man could kick the door in, despite it being a metal door with a deadbolt...

Quick upgrade to a better  deadbolt (longer, with a hardened rod through it) replace the 1/2 inch cheapy screws with 3.5 inch lags that go through the frame for both the door and the jamb plate and now it'll take more than a single boot to open.

Instead, a thief will just pry/break a window to get in... If they want it, they'll find a way.

  8. Daily push ups are killer.

A buddy of mine sent me a challenge on the 2nd of January to do daily push ups.

For the rest of January I did:

    200 push ups/day

    200 crunches/day

    80 pull ups/day

Hitting 6000 push ups in one month felt crazy and awesome.  All while still doing my regular workouts as well.

  9. my best friends dad is a professor of theology and ethics at St. Paul's University.  All he does is study of religion.  It's amazing to sit down and chat with him, and hear his take on religions and religious viewpoints/teachings.

Absolutely wild the world of religion and religious study once you get into it.

  10. Christmas was fitness themed for me this year.

Got a new flat bench, weight lifting belt, dip/pull up belt, wrist wraps, bar pad (great for doing glute/ham bridges), 3 jugs of pre-work out, 2.2 lbs of creatine, 2 jugs of eaa's.  All stocked up again, with some needed additions to the garage gym.

Even managed to hit a Christmas arm workout.

We have like half an inch.  I'm the opposite of you guys though.  I like the anow, yet despise the cold.

Having the temps in the 17.6°f - 30°f range is not bad.  It's not too cold, get some good snowfall in that range, and can enjoy being outside.

But here it likes to drop to the -4°f to -22°f and colder range.  We get days where with the windchill we hit -40°f.  That shit sucks.  A couple years ago we had almost 2 full weeks of -15°f at which point it started ice raining at that temp... Couldn't fucking drive as you couldn't keep the ice off the windshield.

I know you don’t care for Chris Heria. But I’m following that guy until I can do free standing handstand push-ups. Haha

He needs to stay in his wheelhouse.  As a bar athlete doing his calisthenics, he's impressive.

That said, I quite dislike him too. But that's my personal opinion, and in no way meant to influence anyone else.  As with any "fitness YouTuber/celebrity" you get good and bad.  Take the good from the ones you like, but leave the bad.  No one's perfect.

I personally like and follow Steve Shaw - Bend the Bar Man. But also realize, he's not for everyone. Do I agree with everything he preaches? No, but I take what I like and can use.

  13. Fuxored up my low back yesterday working out.  Going to be a couple days off for me.

And I definitely feel the shoulder pain.  My left shoulder randomly decides to say fuck it on me and I go a couple weeks where I can't do anything heavy for bench or OHP.

Getting older sucks.  Injuries suck.  But gotta keep at the grind.

They let me deal with the teethy critters, but the others they all grab.  I am somewhat immune, but pre-kids used to spend 80+ days a year fishing.

The space on your boat is exactly why I wanted a tiller.  Completely open so that even if both boys bring a friend I can breath. :P

I don't mind handling the fish.  And plenty of room on the boat for what I want and need.  I much prefer the steering wheel and controls over a tiller.  But that's personal preference.  I've had all 5 of us plus the father in law all out together fishing with no issues.

But then before that we were using a 14 ft tinny that was narrow as hell.
