You should of told him big system take little system before you played yours since he wanted to show off his new little camaro, and then unloaded your system and have him hand over his system so you could sell it (I did this to one of these kids at my college since he would always ask me how much I bet his is louder and I said winner takes the loser system). Not only was he made for making assumptions but he lost his amp and sub, I let him keep the box so he could start over or just leave him a remembrance of what he lost for being an ass.

Considering there only a few dollars apart I would get the 4-channel amp kit, the only difference is one comes with a 1 or 2-channel rca and the other with a 4-channel rca.

Unless your sitting in the back seat it is useless to have rear speakers because you wont hear them, just buy you a nice front stage and you will be fine. I took out my rear speakers and it helped with the bass getting in the car since i have my subs in a trunk and it sounds better this way.

IA DP 15" vs Sundown SAZ-3500D???

Ill have my popcorn, beer and nachos ready for this build . -
x2, what are your goals? Will this system be for a daily driver or competition? For that price if you cant build your own box you should be able to get one custom built for your liking so I personally wouldnt do it, just my .02.

You can search online or in this thread about active and im sure some previous posts will show up. Active is running your speakers bandpassed either using your amp or head unit(equalizer) instead of having a crossover between your speakers and amp, which is passsive or running component sets (your letting your amp or h/u take place of the passive crossover in an active setup). You can run a 2-way or 3-way setup with an active front stage. The 2-way consist of a tweeter and mid-bass/mid-range depending on your goals taste or performance. The 3-way consist of a tweeter, mid-range and a mid-bass speaker. These speakers can be same brand but most people switch up and buy a tweeter from this company, a mid-range from this company and so on but it doesnt matter it depends on what you like and purchase. If someone can make this sound better they will chime in, just my .02.

x2 skip the rear door and run active upfront with the 100.4 The best advice given all morning by you two fellas. I went active one month ago and never looked back since then, the sound quality was past impressive. Im trying to get all my friends who have systems are in into them to go active, one is on the verge.

Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Appreciate ya, I just gotta get all these decisions out the way and since Im unemployed at the moment I will be getting one thing at a time instead of everything together. I just need a: H/O Alternator, 2 batteries, marine dual battery charger, subs and box, 4 channel amp, Mach 5 Audio's and tweeters, plenty of deadening. I just seen you build and might still the bed liner idea from you but I want to do my whole box. -
OldSkool_08's Incriminator and Sundown build.
jcarter1885 replied to Kanaworm$'s topic in Build Logs
Good build so far, how many sprays of herculiner did you use? I feel for some reason I want my enitre box covered in that instead of carpet. Good luck -
I want 2-12" Dual 1 ohms, I want to put them in the trunk of my 2003 Saturn Ion and have up to 4-4.3 ft^3 after displacements for a ported enclosure, they will be powered by my Sundown SAZ-2000D.
-
Looks like you will be ready for some fun next weekend, hope all goes well and good luck. What numbers you expecting to achieve, I guess what goals you have in mind so far?
-
Maan Im rather impressed with the port design, get this build going and cant wait to see finish design.

No rear fill and leave it open to allow the mass to get through, I run Eminence Alpha-6C(6.5") and will be getting some tweeters and Mach 5 Audio midbass(6.5") real soon.

Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I narrowed my choices down to 1-15" SSA Xcon(D2) or 2-12" DC Level 4(D1) in 4ft^3 @ 30-32Hz with 56-64 in^2 of Port Area, that internal volume is after displacements (subs, bracing and port). -
Good build so far, keep up the good work.

Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Very good question denim considering we talked about everything else except for that aspect. Im not stuck on the Sundown's just want to hear everyone's opinion. -
Will there be away to pre-order these (not worried about a cheaper price but it would be a great feature, just want to buy them since its hard to hold onto money), any updates?

Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
My vote is the custom Sundown SA-12 or the SSA ICON! SoundSplinter is out of the RL-p 12 according to the website. The good thing about the Sundowns is it will match the amps(3) and Im getting a hell of deal on them . -
Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
So I will be selling subs to one person and the box to a friend who wants it. Now I will be starting from scratch, sub and port will be backward facing toward trunk opening powered by a Sundown SAZ-2000D @ 1ohm. I want to embark on something new and get a sub that will pound the lows with authority, enclosure after displacement 4-4.4ft^3 @ 30-32Hz (but still undecided, could go up or down: I listen to chopped/screwed, rap, r&b and old school). My budget is $350 or less per sub and I want 2-12" subwoofers, which sub and tuning frequency do you recommend? SoundSplinter RL-p SSA Icon Mach 5 Audio IXL (when the new voice coil configuration comes out) Sundown Audio SA-12 (on steroids, with some extra features to handle more power already talked to Jacob) Incriminator Audio Death Row DC Level 4 FI Q -
That box just does not look 4 cubes internally after displacement or maybe the video is doing the box size any justice.

Leave it @ 0 and good luck with install. Share pictures and videos with us when all is said and done. -
It sounds better and seems to hit harder than the old box, how are you liking the new box?

Sub combination for Sundown SAZ-2000D
jcarter1885 replied to jcarter1885's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have around 4-4.5 ft^3 of space available, what would be a good size for this setup? Thanks for your input. If you go Icons, they will love that box, so will the Q's I believe. My only downfall is that I just went to a local car audio shop to ask them some questions about building my box unless I have my own set of tools by then, they looked up the subs parameters and were trying to pu them into WinISd Pro. I was telling him that I wanted a box around 4-4.5ft^3 @ 30-31Hz, he was saying lets let the program decide what will be best so after loading it into WinISD it said I should tune around 35-40Hz because he usually looks to where the box has a 12db peak at (thats the frequency he will use to tune the box at and 40Hz was the highest). I was like those arent even the recommendations of what the company said to roll with, is using WinISD good to design boxes and if so is there a way I can get the full T/S Parameters for a Icon 12"D1 and Xcon 15"D2 so I can use them in WinISD? The shop also tried calling you guys from the number on your homepage and it didnt work so I just wanted to let you guys know that if you didnt already. -
If you need answers that fast you should just email Jacob, I doubt anyone remembers how heavy there amp is off the top of their head.
