I know I have a car audio addiction when......
jcarter1885 replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in General Audio
or are those your initials, haha im just playing (thats a good one) -
x2 because thats the next H/U I want when I decide to get rid of the Kenwood X, someone on here already has it maybe he could give you and me a good review on it.

your best bet is to try it considering it can be either temporary or permenant solution since it is removable, go for the gusto and tell us how it came out. just my .02 I always thought that adding polyfill would decrease internal volume regardless if it was packed or loosely placed in their since it is taking up space but I guess you learn something new everyday.

Well they are brand new in the box never used. They have a few sets of the 1514's i think and one of the 2514. I just don't know if they sound good at all or what I should be paying for them. And are the little red and silver amps any good? I don't need them but if anyone else is interested in them I can look into them a little further. Those are brand new too. I did some research on the speakers and seen a guy on craiglist selling some brand new ones I believe for $75 since he got them for $100, so I guessing anywhere from $75 or below depending on your negotiation skills.

I definantly would like to see it back in action so I can purchase my third and last amp for this actual setup Im currently working on (either a SAX-50.4 or SAX-100.4, working with size issues now).

autozone or anything similar should check it for ya. -
got the car stripped down to its birthday suit, progress is excellent. good luck

Just dont use the loudness feature period, when did you turn this feature on after you installed your SAZ-2000d to give it some more sound because you thought it was lacking or was it already on before? Im pretty sure if it was on before you hooked up the Sundown that it was the only cause because 400-600 watts on 4 ohms by itself without clipping shouldnt do a woofer that is capable of 2000-2500 rms like that. Just my .02

yeah mine was on and Im glad you reminded me to turn mine off, I noticed that something was sounding odd when playing my system ever since I hooked up my extra runs of ground from battery to chassis(the head unit reset itself when it turned back on). Well with that amount of power I dont think you messed anything up but who knows just have to play it and see how it sounds. Turn off Loud regardless, you dont want to mess up sub or amp? Whats the max volume on your head unit, what do you usually play the volume at when your going full tilt?

x2, I can agree with you when it comes to deck choices. I have the same one as you and want to upgrade to the new JVC with the blank screen when off and touch screen when on but I just dont want to get rid of this deck.

im not sure what happened but Im thinking that the loudness feature on your head unit should be turned off.

Glad you could join us.

I just did a lot of research and really couldnt find no hard facts to back it up but I think it is 1 ohm stable when running two channels(1500 x 2 @ 1ohms) but 2 ohms stable when running one channel (3000 x 1 @ 2ohms) because its supposedly two 1500.1's put together in one case. Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right. It is 2 1500.1s strapped so it should do 1 ohm on 2 channels but only 2ohms mono. I almost picked up one of the 1500s myself but spent a little more money on something else. Doing rated or near to it, they are great amps for the price. i have to run it at 1 ohm mono though bc i have two dual 1 ohm subs and wire them to .5 ohm each no your wrong, if you run the subs in parallel(it will give you .5 ohms each but the final ohm load will be .25) and if you run the subs in series(it will give you 2 ohms each but the final ohm load will be 1 ohms). your gonna need an amp that is 1 ohm stable on one channel and not two channels, that amp probably wont work for you (what subs do you have) considering you want to run it at 1 ohm mono. -
well I was wondering how that could be true until I did my research and found out the xj8 can hold a whopping 22.5 gallons of gas, thats incredible

now thats a beast

thank you guys for shipping my amp today, ya'll are A+++ in my book . -
no thank you my friend, Jacob quick question whats the most you can get out of a sax50.4 @ 2ohms per channel before clipping (I know it says 80 but your amps are underrated )

alternator problem?
jcarter1885 replied to Lucky 76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well the reason for the small voltage drops is the heat from outside(the later you go in the day the hotter it gets) and your engine components heating up after be running for a few minutes will cause this. Were not saying your battery is bad (the battery can be excellent for a normal car just for starting purposes) but your trying to run an amp that draws over 400amps, the group size battery you have is probably to small for that application. What size and what kind of battery do you have(just because you add a H/O altenator does not mean it will be ok for you to try and draw 400amps or more from it and be okay without upgrading your battery. You have been having alot of voltage problems, how about taking your car to someone who knows what their doing and maybe then can guide you in the right direction (check all your wires and connections, especially your grounds-thats what could be causing all these voltage leaps and bounds). -
alternator problem?
jcarter1885 replied to Lucky 76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Just my .02, it seems to me like it is your battery (you got two different alternators put in the vehicle and still have the same problem). That amp is drawing a lot of power and a H/O alternator by itself will not cut it. -
Either a Sundown SAZ1000D or Saz1500D would do you justice with a 15" Q or BL with the BP option. The most h/o alternators for Saturns are not over 200 amps, so I doubt you will find a 300Amp but you never know. If its a car your not going to fit a 18" subwoofer in a Saturns trunk, you can get a 15" ported with the right amount of enclosure space or 2-12" FI SSD's with a Sundown SAZ-1500D would be perfect also. If you get a good starting battery(group 34) and secondary battery for your system(group 31) you probably wont have to get a h/0 alternator depending on how your voltage holds up. just my .02

Sounds like a challenge Bill!! x2 Challenge!!!
