My first choice would be 2-12" Sealed Xcons and then 2-10" Ported BL's, but both are great choices and cant go wrong either way (hopefully they will get you to your goal).

jcarter1885 replied to Doctor Q's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical

I just received my 2000D and was wondering what would besome good settings to tune the ssf and low pass filter to: Im thinking SSF= 20-25Hz Range and LPF= 35-50 Hz Range see what sounds better. Any suggested or opinions would be appreciated, the subs are 3-12" Kicker CVX's 1.333 wired, in 5.79 Ft^3 @ 25.94 Hz.

What Amp Would You Recommend?
jcarter1885 replied to Doctor Q's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i already looked at Dcons... just for the subs it would be $620 and i can get the 4 pioneers for $240. If i had more money i would go with the dcons. well start saving up because you will love the difference betwen DCONS and Pioneers, just by two at a time. -
x2, go ahead and get the SSA 15" XCON and Sundown SAZ-1500D combo at the store.

naw he means two amps on, one on each set of coils

need a better amp
jcarter1885 replied to Generation X's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That doesn't mean take it slow, it means the suspension will loosten up and they will be louder after about 2 weeks. ok, see I thought it meant take it easy so when the suspension gets loose you can turn it up some more all within its limits. thankx, learn something new everyday. -
Bump! Any ideas or thoughts ? Do some testing to find out what is best for your vehicle. Unless they have tested the same equipment in the same vehicle they don't have a valid opinion. x2 x3, try to turn the box where sub is back facing trunk door opening w/ port up or sub front facing toward seats and port up and see what sound better. Build another box according to jbl specs (port up, sub up) then play with that configuration and flipping the box around to see what sounds better. Then determine what box and which positioning is best, good luck. http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Boxes%20and%20Parameters/GTO1514TD.pdf JBL says 3.50FT^3 @ 30 Hz
-
lets go from hear, what car will this system be in? what other equipment (head unit, front stage speakers, elctrical to back up system)? what is the optimal space you have in your trunk to make a box, go measure it give us your max dimensions (h x w x d).
-
Your right, a lot of people don't know what they want, or they want something but it isn't what they need, that's where they need help. I understand and I got where your coming from, good point Duran.
-
well what are your suggestions then, I was thinking about a one sub and amp setup but since thats what he wanted to choose from (I pointed him in the best direction whichever way he went) didnt mean hey go buy it. In my eyes alot of people dont know what they want or know what to do with it when they get something so if thats what he wants then go for it, who are we to tell him dont get it (I say go for it and have fun but I will at least make sure he has some good equipment that matched up well). he didnt list any goals or a car plus whatever other equipment he will be running.

if break in period means nothing then why do companys and people recommend it for about a two week period, just curious? -
If im correct: Box= 41"W x 22.75"H x 22.25"D (outside dimensions) Port= 6"W x 21.25"H x 46"D (both ports added together- (2) 3"W x 21.25"H x 28"D) Port Area= 127.50 in^2 (Port Area Range= 63-84in^2) Sub Displacement= 0.26FT^3 5.28FT^3 @ 31.41 HZ
