Sir-Lancelot replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical

I only have 2 RF 1000bd's putting 1000w on each 15 right now and it gets loud. (Sundown 3500D soon. ) Yes Sir. People that tell you that are haters and do not have room for 18's. LOL.
-
Love them!! Very tight bass, not sloppy or boomy one bit. CheVelle and Godsmack never sounded so good, lov'n that fast kick drum to my gut. Seriously, they have exceeded all my expectations.
-
No difference. With the right box and tuning 18's will sound as good as 8's, the 8's just wont move as much air. I went with 15" xcons for some of the same reasons you listed. I do not hate on any tunes and listen to almost everthing. Mostly metal/rock, tho. I was very surprised they keep up and never get boomy. Tight as hell for such a big woofer.
-
That should be perfect and I doubt you would ever play anything below that.
-
Depends on where you tune your box and what you consider low notes.
-
Subs up port back would be louder, IMO.
-
LOL! X 2.

Where are the XCON enclosure recommdentations?
Sir-Lancelot replied to bmr4life's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Sure it will. I a 1000 watt amp on each of my 15" xcons and it bumps pretty good. Loud enough to make my rear air controll fall off my headliner Save up for a 2000 or keep your 1000 you won't notice 500 watts hardly -
Sub up port back should be louder.
-
X's 2. I would want to hear the motor. Nice ride BTW.

You wont even notice a difference between 1200w & 1500w. -
Charge him double for offering to trade a Jensen.
-
I have the same problem. Been thinking about a 3 way with solid mid bass drivers. Curious to what is suggested for you.
-
I would, and I am an adult with working equipment to trade. LOL and edit to add that just sounded wrong.

Second Skin Damplifier Pro and Spectrum Install
Sir-Lancelot replied to tejcurrent's topic in Second Skin Audio
Cool. Did you buy another door kit or was the free one enough to cover the center of your 4 doors? My roof and back door panel rattles like all hell. I was going to buy some foam mat of sorts to place between them and the metal to make it a tighter fit along with some deadener on the metal itself. The roof panel really bugs the chit out of me. I hear it flapping behind me and it makes it sound like my sub is farting. If i push up on it, nothing. I hope some mat and/or foam stops this. I am in Florence, BTW. I make it down to MB pretty much once a week. Maybe I can check it out over some lunch one day. -

You made that look too easy. This is something I am going to have to do to my Yukon soon. I just cant make myself want to go do it now in the hot ass SC sun. Would you say the spray on is as effective as the mat liner? It looks like a huge time saver. Thank you for sharing your progress and taking time to put up pictures. -

It would split the power between your dirvers. 100w / 4 drivers = 25w ea. -
best subs for a sealed box 1250 wrms
Sir-Lancelot replied to Lucky 76's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Whats wrong with the icons? Is there a reason you want to stay sealed? I have 15" xcons ported and I am very happy with them. They play low and get loud as chit for a pretty small enclosure. (3.5cf ea) I have mine crossed at 80, but when it cools down I am going to rework my front stage with some dedicated midbass drivers and new components. I will crossover lower and I think it will be perfect. Hard to argue with the increase a ported enbclosure gives you over sealed, especially when you can tune low so there are no boomy peaks like a box tuned higher. I listen to mainly rock/metal with some R&B/hip hop. FWIW.
