    Sub suggestions

I have 1 RL-i 10 downfiring in between the two front seats in my dodge. The box is ~.8 cubic ft after displacements, I added enough polyfil to get it closer to 1 cubic ft. It sounds excellent, and plays really low for a 10. It also has plenty of output for my purposes and desires. A pair would be really nice.

    Gladius review

To anyone considering ZED amps, they are definately worth the price. High end build quality and sound quality equal to something like a Zapco, which I have heard, for much less money! Another plus is Stephen will answer the emails himself. In my eyes these amps represnet one of the best bangs for the buck on the market! Top notch quality for a resonable price and with as many of Mr. Mantz's classic amps still running around that should give you an idea of the longevity and reilablity of his designs Like I stated prior, I seem to always end up going back to ZED designed amps, and there is reason for that.

A few more thoughts: While some people see the price as high on these ZED amps, they truely aren't. The price of the Gladius might seem a bit steep for an amp rated at 75wpc, but interms of build quality and sound quality, it is a steal. Which no duobtedly is a trait common to all of these ZEDs. The looks also seems to be frowned upon by some, but I rather like them. I see them as simple elegance in a car audio world polluted with chrome and neon "bling".

    Gladius review

Through out the course of my adventures in mobile audio I have always been a fan of ZED built amps and have owned a rather wide selection of them... Lanzars, Crunch 50c, Usacoustics, etc... I have never been disapointed in terms of performance or build quality. Gladius reivew: I currently am powering a set of CDT CL-62i/24 components. This is a set in CDT's lower price range, but I am very pleased with bang for the buck. Prior to the Gladius these were powered by my old trusty Orion XTR 375. This amp was always reliable and powerful. It finally died and I was in need of something new. I new ZED was building/marketing thier own amps and had been milling the idea of replacing my current amps with ZEDs. The death of the Orion was the spark I needed to take the plunge. My Gladius has the Burr Brown upgrade and the sound is superb. The difference between the Orion and the Gladius is quite a lot. I always liked the way that the orion sounded but this amp is much better. I am hearing things that I wasn't with the Orion. The overal clarity is quite better then with the orion, and in fact the Gladius powers them equally as loud if one wanted as the orion did. I am extremely pleased with this purchase, and I am glad that I have a ZED built/engineered amp back in my car. I intend to purchase a minilith later this year to replace my current subwoofer amp, just haven't talked my wife into it yet. Thanks Stephen, Chris from Wyoming.

Maybe someone could help this guy out

Too bad about his defective subs and being given the run around at the buildhouse. But it is still good as it shows some of Mike's famously good customer service. I love my RL-i 10.
  6. And you can order them with burr brown chips. I don't know what that actually does to the sound but supposedly it is a nice improvment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The ZEDs are extremely nice. I just got one, a Gladius with the Burr brown upgrade, delivered on Monday to replace my Orion XTR375 that finally died... I have had it in several installs and it has always been good. The new line of Zed amps has been in the back of my mind since I heard they were making their own amps. It sounds excellent even on the crappy speakers that I have in right now, as my CDT comps are out for warranty work... The only thing is now I want to get the Minilith to replace my current sub amp... But that is going to be hard for me to convince the boss (my wife) to let me buy right now. But my birth day isn't too far away, so maybe I can work that angle...

    1 12" RL-p sealed 1.5 cuft or 2 12's in .70 cuft

I am running 1 RL-i 10 in ~.8 cubic feet after displacements. I have this box polyfilled to "give the sub a little more space" and it gets really low and has much more output then I anticipated. It sounds superb and I will definately keep buying Mike's products. 400 watts really makes the RL-i sing.

    New user...

Hello all, I recently joined the from after purchasing a SoundSplinter RL-i 10. My current system consists of: Eclipse 5423 HU CDT CL-62i/24 Comp set in front doors Orion XTR 375 SoundSplinter RL-i 10" Cadence Z1000 This is installed in my Dodge Ram 1500. It sounds excellent and wasn't too hard on the pocket boock either!

Greetings from a new SS user...

I will be leaving town tonight, but will try to get some pics posted early next week... Sub pics are going to be kind of hard since I am downfiring the woofer... But I will atleast post a pic of my amp rack... ~Chris from Wyoming
  10. Hello all, I recently took a gamble and purchased a RL-i 10 never having heard or seen a SS driver in person. But I really didn't feel like it was much of a gamble after emailing Mike and getting my questions and concerns dealt with in a VERY timely manner.... most times within 6 hours or so of posting them. I had heard TC sounds woofers (eclipse) prior to this purchase, so I had a slight idea of what to expect.... All in all, I am extremely happy with my purchase... With only 1 10" woofer, I wasn't aiming for loud, but the RL-i exceeds my expectations by far... It gets plenty loud and sound superb while doing it. Also it gets really low for a 10. Thanks Mike for offering the consumers an excellent product and customer service at a bargin price.
