  1. NO play or Pause button--only (i needed this feature to use it for SPL comps) you can only pause an ipod... nothing else i dont use the pause button on the one i have now, so thats fine with me CD player didn't skip even at 150+db, it still played just fine when I was burping 20hz at 146ish range.. this deck should be skip free. never been metered, but i dont think im anywhere near that, so i should be fine
  2. so im shopping around for a new headunit and i came across this, which has all the options i want, but i havent used jvc before. it has good customer ratings, but has anyone on here used them before? should i just leave it be and stick with alpine and the good stuff or what? i would rather save the hundred dollars, but if its garbage ill leave it alone. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDS100/JVC-KD-S100.html?tp=5684&tab=features_and_specs if anyone has used the bongovi (sp) sound thing, if so how does it REALLY sound?
  3. well i dont know much about the different features that HU can do, never really got too in depth about it all. just some general features i want are the aux. input in rear (not i pod) have something that can put out good sound, i dont need a ton of settings, simple is better for me. sub preamps (given haha) has to play cds, and a high volt reading if possible. dont konw what else to ask for. but my price range is ~150 but i would be willing to go up to 200
  4. front and rear is 5, sub is two? damn thats one of the things i like about it... isnt higher sub volt (no more than 6) better for sub amps? that was one of the few i found higher than two with the other options i want...

    Trade-In Program

I'm all for supporting, and participating in this program
  6. the rise in resistance is a natural occurance in every system, heat causes resistance in all electrical. you shouldnt really worry about it while shopping for an amp, just get an amp that CAN put out a little more than what you need for some headroom. but just because you have the power doesnt mean you should use it, this is just to prevent bad signal to your sub(s). here is a link to the 4500, which i would recomend over my previous recomendation of the 2 2000D. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAZ%252d4500D-Pre%252dorder.html the amount of power that a sub can see for a 30 second burp is much different than the amount of power they can see daily driven, so watch out on what you see other people do. alt + batteries = less voltage drop, yes

    X8 Projected Pricing

    X2 sounds fun =)
  8. if you are wanting to run them at top power or whatever you want to get all the options. get dual 2 ohm VC and wire them in parallel to 1 ohm (per sub) to 2 sundown audio saz 2000D, watch your gains so you dont damage the subs. use 1/0 wire, do the big three.. get a new alt. and a couple batteries...and follow their recomended enclosure dimentions and you should be good im pretty 100% sure you cant post about trading/selling until you have 25 posts, might want to take that out of the OP.
  9. loud vs. louder questions aren't the best. it all depends on install and a million other factors. but i would say that a bl would be louder, just cuz i love mine. i only have ~1200 going to it, just watch your gain if you do go with that much power. dont be clipping
  10. the big three is only a couple feet of wire and ring terminals.. not that expensive and running that kind of power, get some 1/0 wire, for sure.

I just saw this who owns it?

    that's crazy...
  13. lol i was talking to you! and i wasn't talking to me! (me being ken lol) if i talk to myself, i don't answer back...is that weirld! and by amps i mean subs AND AMPS!!! it is better to have a rock solid clean amp rather then a lanzar! lol! oops, ment to ask if you were talking to sadistic customs. but i totally agree on the amp. sundown > all else
  14. does it matter how far the fuse is from the battery, as long as it's within 18"? more specifically can it ever be too close to the battery? i installed new wires in my friends car (power and grounds) and its only about 6" from the battery. his fuse keeps blowing so he tried a bigger fuse (still only 80 amps) could that be the problem? i dont know the specifics on what amp and such but its probably 7-900 watts. should he just upgrade to a 150 amp fuse? its 4 AWG.
  15. itll definitely help, the more the better. but in my case im a lil short on wire and im positioning the batteries a certain way. alrighty, thanks. ill be getting a new battery soon so ill be in the same boat you are
  16. i know the opti's are good amps but dont know that much about lanzar there close to what they say just a hair lower i think thats were those sundown audios are fricking awesome good clean power x2 sundown > life!! lol!! you know what though using a 2channel amp isn't the way to push a piar of amps man. you should hook those amps in parellel (run them at 1ohm) and buy my saz1200 off of me!! lol!! (sundown amp) p/m me if you are interested!! are you talking to me or ken? and by amps you mean subs? i really wish he would buy that haha trust me
  17. i know the opti's are good amps but dont know that much about lanzar there close to what they say just a hair lower i think thats were those sundown audios are fricking awesome good clean power he ordered it all before i could pitch the "buy sundown power" add at him.. but i still do anyways haha
  18. i directly told him. "ill order you some knu wire. im going to get some stuff from them soon, if you want now. and it will be way cheaper for you. ill get the shipping and you will have MUCH nicer wires." and he said no... he was in a hurry to have some beats, but ill tell him about the fuse sizing. thanks for the help man
  19. and i could barely fit the 4 gauge wire in the terminal. so we would have to reduce it even if he did buy the 1/0
  20. http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-W3011-1200-Watt-12-Inch-Subwoofer/dp/B000N2N24G/ref=pd_cp_e_3 and two of those. so we are at 4 ohms... no i didnt bridge them. we we are at *advertised* 2k watts.. i dont know anything about lanzar, how are they on advertised wattage, how true is it?
  21. oop, found it. ok figured out why i always get so confused when he talks to me. he always talks about peak wattage.. ive told him that doesnt count only rms does, but he likes the sound of it better i guess. anyways here it is http://www.amazon.com/Lanzar-MXA282-4000-Watt-2-Channel-High-Power/dp/B000E3ZDP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1247884870&sr=8-1
  22. i tried to talk him into the 1/0 wire but he didnt want to waste time for shipping, he was in a hurry and wanted to get it done that day. and i doubt he will buy more wire since he just spent 80$ on the 4 awg no-name kit (local shop) and neither of those amps.. im still looking for it, he got it on amazon
  23. likei said, he is confusing when he talks. but we arent running it at 1 ohm, we are at 2, so nowhere near 4k watts. and yeah, i sanded the paint away.
  24. just curious. would it be better to chasis ground the second battery, along with the first? or not and have double on the first? or would that not matter? for diagram 1 & 2
  25. pretty sure its not blown, its brand new. but with how he had his settings before i got to it, it very well could be. he thought the gain should be all the way up. i almost cried... but after i was done with it it was working fine and all, i grounded it properly with the 4 awg. power wire is BRAND new, we bought it right before i installed it a couple days ago, would the small fuse have burnt through it that fast?
