  1. I paid for my RE XXX to be reconed and then the 47 dollar return shipping fee for the XXX, and my UPS tracking number says it will get to your place tommorow. But I was emailed a UPS shipping notification from you guys yesterday saying you shipped me something. I am assuming you shipped me the recone kit accidentally. I emailed you guys a copy of this email with my full name as well. Please let me know what is going on, thanks!
  2. I shipped the sub out today and paid through paypal. Can you let me know that you got the payment? (paypal name is "applespalsh"). Probably shouldn't post this in the main forum but your pm's seem to be disabled. Thank you.
  3. I am trying to send my sub into you guys for a recone, and assuming I should ship it to the general address. I can't get a hold of anyone at your company to verify that this is the address that I should ship my sub to for a recone, and I don't want to blindly ship it out to an address without getting confirmation from you guys. Please let me know, thank you! PS - For anyone that might bring it up, I already spoke with Nick via email and they are expecting my sub once I pay, but I can't pay or do anything yet without a shipping address.
  4. Excellent, thanks and please disregard the emails I sent! I'm gonna send the paypal later tonite and hopefully have this thing on its way to you guys tommorow.
  5. I have an older XXX that needs a recone. I sent an email a week or so ago to get paying details for a recone, but I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone. It's a 12 inch, and my zip is 33155. But I also have no idea how to ship it without it getting damaged, was wondering if I can just pay to have you ship a box + the wooden crate or however you guys pack it, since I have no idea how to pack this thing myself.
  6. yes, along with sending one directly to Nick's email. I ordered lead tinsels from them a while ago and they were getting back to me within 24 hours on each email I sent to them, but this time I have been trying to get a hold of Fi since February 9th with no success so far. I'm starting to go a little nuts over here from bass withdrawal too! I'd love to get this thing reconed, it's very sad having a non functional XXX
  7. Before hand i had a 12 Infinity Perfect running off of a JL Audio 250/1, then upgraded to an RL-P Dual 2 ohm with a Nine.1 as the amp. Box is a subzone prefab 1.03 cu ft sealed box before driver displacement. The sound quality is phenomal, but the output so far is a complete joke. It has no more SPL than my Perfect did, and if i attempt to turn the HU volume or gain up, the sub begins to clip and bottom out. It also moves an incredible amount, and doesn't seem to be putting out output anywhere close to where it should be by the looks of how much it is moving. Are my problems all in my box, or does it sound like i have something else going on? We used a Volt-meter and the sub is indeed wired correctly at 1ohm, and the amp is measuring 12.8 volts, so i dunno what the problem is? Sub is getting 1200 rms from that amp. I know a good box is important for perfomance maximizing, but i never would have guessed that a small box would make a high output sub sound like a puny baby sub like my old infinity. What is the problem here people? Is it all my box or do i have some other problem?
  8. 2.03 cubic feet BEFORE sub displacement, tuned to 34 hz, 30 inches of port area. Is that gonna be sufficient to get me the output i want, as well as still retain a good amount of SQ?
  9. ls1pimp

Can you guys critique my projected box specs?

Its for a 12 inch RL-P BTW, and i am going for like 70% SPL, 30% SQ
  10. What do you guys mean "fix the wiring?" there is nothing wrong with the wiring. It was wired to the fuse box, but i fixed that already and now its wired to the battery.
  11. Don't get me wrong, it does get very very loud, just not crazy insane loud like i thought it would.
  12. I have not seen one that does not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i thought Eclipse made some a couple years ago that didnt? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So then what is the problem? Something in my setup sucks. either the amp or the sub. Either the amps not putting out anywhere close to what its supposed to, the sub can't handle nor produce anything close to that power, or both or maybe neither.
  13. Im also not convinced the Amp is fine, the voltage output seems correct, and it runs fine. There is the chance that something is screwy with it, but i have no clue, and i don't really know how to find out.
  14. I don't understand how the hell you are even listening to your system with your HU cranked so high. That sh!t would deafen me, even with crappy speakers! Is your trunk built exceptionally strong or something? I honestly am at a loss to explain your problem. The only thing that I can guess is that you either had too high of an expectation, or there is an equipment failure somewhere in your system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well i lowered the speaker amp gain to match the sub amp, so even at max the speakers aren't very loud. Im just as confused as you are. The sub sounds good, and it makes sense that to sound better it needs a bigger box, but the fact that it bottoms out is just confusing me to all extents.
  15. Mike, what i don't understand is, when a sub bottoms out that means the enclosure is too big. Wouldn't it be bottoming out even more when i change to the bigger ported box? I can't set my gain any lower, my HU volume is almost at complete maximum right now.
  16. Well,Im getting a new box regardless, but what should i do if it continues to bottom out even with the ported box? I have the gain very low right now, so low that i need to turn my HU to near max volume in order to hear bass that is loud enough, yet it still bottoms out.
  17. Well, i tried polyfilling the box today, made it louder but it still bottoms out when i crank it up. Even lowered the gain and same thing. Is gettinga ported box gonna make it stop bottoming out? If the thing still bottoms out when I change the box, this sub is gonna be gone.
  18. I want it to hit ridioucsly hard, but i also want it to not be very boomy and still maintain a level of SQ. Is that size going to be alright? And thats freaking huge, the box is gonna have to be like 2.2 cubes, i doubt that will fit in my trunk. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> mine is in a 2.0 @ 28hz, you have to get a little creative in the box design, but if you give us the info we can try to help <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Car is a 1998 Trans Am, so trunk space is very very limited. These are my specs. 28" long(left to right) 12" wide(front to rear) 17" deep(bottom to top) And like I said before, just want the ultimate LSQ box, with more focus on SPL than SQ. I also loooooooooove low low bass.

  20. On the contrary, the RL-p can and will bottom out if fed too much power (it will take quite a bit of power before slammin' though). Seems everyone here has laid out the cards and now it's time for ls1pimp to make some decisions. For one thing, lay off that gain man - you don't want to destroy the woofer before you have a chance to get your setup set straight! Get your wiring to the battery and try to find a way to use either a 1.25 - 1.35 NET volume sealed or 1.5 - 2.0 NET volume ported @ 34 Hz enclosure. 0.85 cu ft NET is simply not going to give you the output you want PERIOD. Don't forget about enclosure positioning and noise cancellation as well - but seriously man: Get wiring done properly Ease up on your gain - if the woofer is clippin' and makin' all sorts of nasty noise, you are hurting it and need to back off on the gain. Change your enclosure So now that you've heard this so many times, are you ready to go do it?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you even read the posts ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does net mean after sub displacement or before?
  21. Well, you guys were all 100% right. Me and a buddy rewired the whole car, moved the wiring to the battery instead of the fusebox, and still the same thing. Its definately the box. So what specs do i need the box built too? I want some crazy LSQ, with much more emphasis on SPL, and some on SQ. Probably gonna go ported. So what specs should i use?
