  1. Sooo my girlfriend signed us up for this Cutest Couple's Contest that is put on by our local newspaper, The Ledger.Bless her heart she's very competitive, but I don't think she realized what all it entails to win one of these things on your own haha. So anyways if I could get some help or participation I would greatly appreciate it.You just have to go register and make a username and password and then confirm it in your email.Take's 2 minutes start to finish, tops.I'm not asking you to cheat. If enough people participate that won't be necessary anyways.I want a fair win So here are the rules as stated in the email she recieved: Thanks for participating in The Ledger’s Cutest Couples contest! The third round has started and your photo is up for voting. The top 5 photos from this round will go on to participate in the final round, Monday July 11 to Sunday, July 17. Let me take this opportunity to remind you of the rules. Everyone may vote once a day. Please do not clear your cache, use different browsers or any other tricks to vote multiple times in one day – we can easily discover this behavior and it will cause any votes from the person to be voided, as per our rules. Many people fall into this behavior when they see another picture has gotten a great many votes in a short amount of time. Know that those photos will go through the same scrutiny. Instead, take advantage of the “vote for me” widget on your photo’s page and send it out to friends and family. Encourage them to vote everyday. Good luck! Vote at www.theledger.com/cutestcouple And here is the link to our picture: Our Page!! I don't know if that is against the rules or not.If so, just let me know.God bless everyone!

    Universal Option

I was curious about the universal option offered for the BTLs.I understand that it is so you can change between dual 1 and 2 ohm coils, but what are the drawbacks?I noticed it says that if you don't get the universal option that the motor will be optimized for the ohm load configuration you order. So does that mean that a universal BTL won't ever perform quite as up to par as one that isn't universal?Just curious, because I figured if their were no drawbacks then all of the subs would have them. Thanks man for any feedback.I really appreciate it.

    Universal Option

Not to beat a dead horse, but can you elaborate on matching tolerances?I'm just curious as to why, if their is no negative affect, why all of the subs wouldn't be made to be universal. Thanks for the quick reply though man.

    SAX-200.4 Prototypes In

The power will likely be double, if not more, than the 100.4 that is out now I assume?I saw the 200x4, but is that at 4 ohms?If so, I'll likely be doing a lotttt of work with these when they are released.Been looking for something that can run (8) 8 ohm speakers at 100 watts RMS with a nice, wide crossover band.
  6. Got a friend that has a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Classic and he already had some JL Audio ZR components installed (if you would even call them installed. The work was HORRRRIBLE).He initially came to me wanting as much CLEAN,LOW bass as possible without having to cut into the bed or giving up any seat space.I immediately thought of the Digital Designs 1008b's.After a few phone calls with Steve over at DD we got something worked up mapped out. After popping a few panels inside and seeing the pitiful quality of the work inside, my buddy agreed to let me strip everything out and re-install all the existing equipment. Now, on with the pics...... I'll see what I can get these things to do
  7. Hertz and Audison actually. That's a nice avatar by the way.Where did ya get it?
  8. Thanks man.I love working on these trucks.Focal has a lot of nice stuff, but Hertz seems to be knocking them down left and right in a lot of places. They have a long standing name to speak for them though, so I don't really see Hertz ever taking that from them. Peeping little ninja eh?
  9. It's a bit of a pain with the way the voltage monitoring is setup. It is through a device near the battery on the ground wire that goes to the battery, which manages the current flow and then controls the alternators output. Not as simple as just running a big 3, though many people do that with no acknowledgement of the voltage monitoring device.Oh well. They will learn sooner or later when their alternators are way overcharging their back batteries because it senses that the front one is having a great deal of current drained from it So what is your solution to the problem? On my honda the ECU shuts off the alternator when it senses a drop in power demand, not really a problem though on the HOnda concidering when the volume is cranked, the alternator is definetly feeling a draw. I'll have to PM you or email you all the information, as there is lots, haha.It isn't like just a small configuration though. It is lots and lots of additional wiring and modifications to be done, so I don't want to get your hopes up that it is a quick alteration and PRESTO your done haha.

  11. Thanks man. By the way I hollered at Jake and his main question was if I had a storefront to rep and sell his equipment out of, which I don't, so I don't think he was interested in having me carry his equipment the way I was explaining. For these jobs out of the shop at the house.I will still keep an eye out for awesome deals or jobs I could possibly use some Sundown equipment in, as I've never used any of it before, and see if I may be able to work out something with a nearby Sundown dealer on some more appealing pricing.
  12. Thanks buddy.I'm a huge believer of doing things right the first time and building my setups to last so you never have to go back in to fix anything. I see you have a 2nd gen Xterra in your sig.I have an '05 SE.Have you done anything to yours?Believe it or not, you can fit 16 12s in the back and still keep the back seats.Ask me how I know
  13. Thanks a lot man.I appreciate it. Thanks man. These are the JL Audio ZRs, but the Focal components are very nice.Even their entry level stuff, the Access series, gets pretty loud and still sounds very nice and crisp. My favorite series is the Polyglass series, in particular the 165VRs.Tons of nice midbass and get pretty loud while retaining every bit of sound quality, and they won't leave you having to pull a loan from the bank. Thanks.I'll have to get some picture of the outside. It's a nice ride all around.
  14. Working in the rain....gotta meet them deadlines
  15. Actually those are the commands right out of Steve's mouth haha. These aren't regular 1008b's though
  16. Thanks man. The box consists of two separate chambers, divided by a brace in the middle of the box. Each sub has exactly .8 cubes after displacement, with the port being 4" x 2" and tuned to 32 Hz I'm EXTREMELY impressed by them. The 1508s are even bigger haha.
  17. Ha I saw you lookin'.I was wondering when you were going to pop up and say something.
  18. Thanks man.I see you're an admin on there.Big guy on the site eh? I'll have to see about joining on there.Again, I aprpeciate all the props and positive feedback.I reward you with more pictures
  19. Thanks bud. Thanks for the props here and on the other site man.I see you included my user name and everything on Classifiedzz so it's all good.I like for people to be able to see my builds and the work that I do, so the more people the better
  20. Thanks man.FloridaSPL always gets first look at my builds.Where do you get your Stinger stuff from?If you ever need anything that you can't seem to get your hands on, I am a dealer and would be more than happy to help a fellow forum member up I agree, so without further ado..... Coupling the two 10 gauge positive wires from the sub to the one 12 gauge speaker wire Heatshrinked And taped Depth when mounted in the box
  21. So......Who's ready for bass?
  22. Thanks man.I do a lot of work with a lot of Focal stuff, and their crossovers aren't NEAR as big, so I can usually get away with mounting the crossovers right behind the kickpanel, and in front of the pocket behind the rubber barrier, but the ZR crossovers are just so big that you don't have much choice.I love that little pocket back in there though. Most people don't even know it's there but if you do it can help you out a LOT.It's a bit more work to get to, but it keeps everything nice and close. Ha yeah, the regular 1508's are 3/4 of an inch deeper and require more airspace.I was pretty limited on both, so I went with the 1008s.
