    HO Alternators

Yep, just send'm an email or fill out contact form on site, link emailed them and they told me to call them. imho if you have a website be willing to discuss and do things by email. not to mention i hate doing business by phone 30 min later i would have forgotten what half conversation was about and I always have questions for later. email to me is more convenient and easier on my phone bill. I went with spring hill though. ordered it friday got here monday. I got the rebuild kit with the isberg housing pre assembled all i had to do was unbolt the rear housing clean it out replaced one bearing and have yet to put the smaller pulley on or the other bearing. that things a bitch to get off. but so far so good. no more voltage drop. And i believe it exceeds my daily regular listening on startup it stays at 14-14.9 volts (i don't have a voltmeter yet so i'm going off the gauge) then about 5-10 minutes later drops to just about 13 and sits there. granted this was at night and in the rain so... I'm running about 2k rms when i turn it op i don't get a voltage drop but my lights do dim briefly and not to noticeably when the subs hit but are fine when its just a tone. Is that normal. I'm also running a 1oh stable amp at about .6ohms so that may have something to do with it as well lol. Also the alternator doesn't get anywhere near as hot as my other one. my old one i had to wait two hours just to be able to hold it barehanded after driving for 15 minutes. I do have one question would 4ga pure copper wire about 24inches long be sufficient enough for the alternator/engine to chasis ground in addition to the original. i got it grounded to the strut screw under metal plate sanded down the contact points on the plate and the car on all three bolts just to make sure there was good contact. now back to the light dimming. i have an optima d75/25 in the front in the front and a kinetik i think its an 800 but i'm not sure in the back. shouldn't the kinetik provide the instant power needed to keep the lights from dimming?
  2. In the market for one. so far have looked into db, irragi, cbr electronics, nations, mechman, and just recently spring hill. I've heard of people having issues with mechman and irragi but after doing some reading there could be other reasons why their units failed. Any input on any of these? right now I'm leaning more towards spring hill autoelectric simply because they offer more options for upgrading ie i can order just the parts i need and upgrade the alternator myself and save $100+ that and their customer service has been very responsive about answering my thousand questions. even on the weekend which i thought odd... Anyone have any dealings with them either??

    HO Alternators

I need one that can be swapped out with a cs130. It's going in an older buick DC doesn't have any + that's a little more than I want to spend. If i got one of those I'd end up paying more for the alternator than I did on the car itself lol. this is what i planned to get High Output Alternators - Alternator & Starter Repair Kits - Alternator Parts - Delco CS130 220 Amp High Output Upgrade/Rebuild Kit along with an upgraded housing (iceberg is what everyone calls it) for 28 along with a smaller pulley. After emailing them they gave me a quote for 173 which includes putting it together for me so all I need to do is change the bearings and pulley and attach it to the other part of my old alternator at idle 75-95 AMPS @ 750 rpm, at 1500 rpm 220AMPS is what they quoted the output.

    10in sub pair

Just getting back from a deployment and there are alot of new stuff out there so... I'm looking into getting a pair of 10s. I was looking at the IDQ and IDMAX but since I got to this forum I'm seeing sundown and ssa as well as some other's. I already had a box built to hold the IDQs but right now I'm running two american bass dx 10s which by the way for 35 a piece I'm rather impressed with them to say the least. What would you guys suggest. Right now I have a choice of running between 900-1700 rms and the box I have I think has 1.5 cuft per chamber...
