Why audiopipe over audioque?

I bump all the time. My friend says he can here me coming down his street but i talked to my neighbors and asked them to let me know if i bothered them with it instead of calling the cops. I only have 1 15 though. No tickets yet just complaints from the girlfriend if my trunk is open.

Then i guess im screwed until i upgrade my alt.

I know where the positive connection is but yes the only wires connected to alt are the plugs and yes im positive on this since its the second alt ive installed on the car.

Ok. But how would i add a new one? I see what you mean and agree with you, but i still don't know how to add a new one and thats where im stuck.

What i meant was the little plug in at the alt. Theres no single power wire from alt to batt that i can upgrade with bigger wire. Because of the Ford alt design i Don't know if its possible without going to a GM single wire style Alt. I guess when i upgrade my alt thats what ill look for.

Im lost at how to upgrade the wires in the harness. But yes your correct with the wire layout.

Does it honestly matter? Im not gonna run that type of wire to the amp just for electrical wiring.

I thought it was the same thing as welding wire. The alt positive looks to be maybe 10 or 12 awg.

Not on ford alts. Theres just a wiring harness that plugs in, thats what messes me up.

From what ive read just do a good frame ground then an engine ground and you should be fine. I still havent figured out how to do the positive yet but atleast my voltage is stable.

I had to replace my batt. But i got a dmm and ran another ground from the batt neg. to the engine, and now at full tilt with heat on high and my lights on im seeing an average of 14v with the lowest drops being 13.5v at idle. Batt is at 12.8 with car off.

So how much more ineffecient would a Class AB be then a D? I have the same problem with a Kicker 300.1 but i also only have a 65 amp alt. Sorry not trying to threadjack.

I got those teminals at HomeDepot for $2 apiece. I paid $18 for 8' of that wire at lowes.

There aluminum terminals. They were the only thing i could find. Im gonna look for something better tomorrow. I still have noticable dimming though. I still got to do the other 2 stages of the "big 3" though.

ok thanks ill check the local CA shops. I did the battery ground today. Here are pics: The pic above is of the wire from the batt positive to the solenoid.

so i went today and go some 1/0 wire to do the big three but now i cant find anywhere to get the ring terminals that large. I checked lowes and home depot, and called an electrical supply company but got nothing. Where do you all get your ring terminals and other connections at for that large of wire? Also i noticed there is not a positive running strait from my alt to my batt to upgrade, has anyone else encountered this? I can get pics if necessary. Thanks for the help

Are you gonna have the electrical to back up 3000 watts? Thats alot of power for your first install get something more suited to your skill level that will leave you room to upgrade later. The people here are willing to help you if your willing to follow the rules.

No not yet. Today i put the battery cable back on and the battery didn't have enough power to crank the car but the radio turned on and off like it was supposed to. I plan on checking the wires tomorrow.

Well today my radio display stayed lit when i cut my car off and kept playing unresponsive to any buttons. It drained my battery and left me stranded at work. So i jumped it off drove home and disconnected the battery cable. Zippity phuckin doo-daa

Well i put new alt in. Cars runnning again monday im going to do the big 3. Thanks for the help.
