Also forgot to mention its a single cab so space is limited hence the equipment choices
I bet that will rock in a single cab.
What kinda box you plan on using?

Steve Mead, The only reason I could think for anyone to bash DC amps would be the price or personal reasons. If i had the $$ Id run DC amps in a heartbeat

Thanks man.
Im not on your level yet, but im on the way.

Thanks for watching

It might cause slip if the tensioner cant travel enough to fully tighten it.

i like it. subs in you trunk?
Thanks man.
Yes. 7.5 cubes net @ 34hz sub and port firing back

If you like it then sub or like.
The semi wet hair kinda made it hard, and the fact that she's a bass hater...

so my box in total should only be 6 cubes? total????? thats not good to hear. with all the time and money into this build.
I believe he was referring to your net volume.
What is the current net volume and tuning?

try a rca with a drain wire. you can make these your self. you want to have a 3 conductor wire 20 gauge, and you take the neg and drain wire and connect them together on 1 side of the rca. usually the source side, and the other wire is positive obviously. then run to back to amp, but on that side, you do not use the drain wire, you would want to cut that off so it wont be able to make contact with the ground conductor on the rca. the drain wire is uninsulated so its easy to identify. or if you have a 4 conductor wire, just leave 1 out unhooked.
So whats the purpose of the "drain" wire if you connect it to the ground on the source end, but connect it to nothing on the other end?

I don't think mileage will go down a measurable amount, but I have not measured.
Cost will be determined shortly on the alternator, the idler kit will be $199 for the idlers, bracket and hardware, you supply the belt. I highly recommend it to kill belt slip! My car doesn't make the slightest chirp since installing this idler kit.
Ive been thinking about it alot. When during dry weather I have no belt slip, but everytime it rains I have a good bit, Im not running stock alt though. I have an autozone 175amp peak and after I added the diodes inline with the "sensing" wire my voltage output has increased nicely, but I can tell the alts working hard and my mileage suffered. When I start rebuilding the system in this car, I will definately be investing in some mechman products for the simple fact I know for a fact they will work great on a crown vic.

How does this alt effect gas mileage?
Also any ballpark pricing?
Your gonna make my wallet shrink making all this awesome product for the crown vics.
Also If you want I could post this up on crownvic.net theres alot of hardcore CV enthusiasts who would probably love this.

Those are hilarious.

I would run 64 bit hands down just for the ease of backwards compatibility.
No input to add on the tablets

How about over two years i payed for it in 2009
You have better patience than I do.
Hope this all gets resolved for you soon man.

back side, it would have to go on the outside of the car

Its gonna look bad ass. (White paint, black tint, black wheels)
Thank you for the super quick response as well.

FWIW, Im 19 with a 16 month old daughter, and now that shes here I cant imagine not having her, but i will tell you that it will make EVERYTHING MUCH MUCH MUCH HARDER (i cant emphasize this enough). If i were you Id consider all options still at this point and remember that whatever decision you make will affect you for the rest of your life.
what was going through ur mins when ur girl told u she was pregnate??
I freaked out at first then started hustling to have money for the baby cause my current job at the time was only part time, It was going well till I got arrested selling things, but that was a stupid mistake thats in the past now.
But its all good now and I have a beautiful baby girl thats the light of my life and realize how stupid I was for trying to do illegal things to get money, Im in school now getting an associates degree in Electrical engineering, so that I can have a good job to provide for her.

I have a UFO style 18" BTL in the trunk of my vic, and I want to order the 12" Fi sticker, but I need to know if the adhesive is on the front side of the sticker or the back, because I have dark tint and want to put it on the outside of the window so it shows up well.
So is the adhesive on the sticker face or will I be able to place it on the outside of my car?

Can you build a box?
If you can build your own enclosure, then Id suggest a Fi Bl 12" or 15" running off your current amp (im assuming its around 1000wrms).

So I tried this today using 2 diodes with the cathodes facing away from eachother soldered together, before my car charged at 13.8 hot, now im charging around 14.2 hot and 14.4 cold.
I can take pics if someone would like to see how i did it.

So after further thought, and lookin at the diagram would the green wire on the 6g alt pic in the OP be correct? Also should I face the stripe on the diode towards the alt or away?

Sorry to bump this old thread, but im finally getting around to trying this. I have the diodes and all the necessary things to do this, but idk which wire to look for, I know its supposed to be the "sensing" wire. I only have 2 wires coming from the pigtail of my alt one yellow and one green.
This is the exact alt I have: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Commercial-Alternator/2000-Ford-Crown-Victoria/_/N-je6hqZ93xme?counter=4&filterByKeyWord=alternator&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=904656_193128_10843_

Don't by a scosche, there useless.
And an isolator won't solve the problem, but will be a possible bandaid
