Finally signed up! Been lurking for awhile doing research for my next system. Currently stationed at Ft Huachuca for the army. Will be getting out early October and then returning home to PA. Still searching for the next vehicle but will have that squared away before getting home. This will be my second system. Last system was in a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Alpine 9885 head unit, Polk Momo components, a pair Rockford Fosgate p3 15's, RF T10001bd for subs, RF T5002 Fronts and a 220 amp alt. Hello all, I'm not new to mobile audio, but it sure feels like it. Ran my last setup fo ten years or so. Traded the Yukon for a Land Rover, now I hafta start over. Just feelin lost, the names I used to know don't appear to be what they once were. I have never dealt with comps before, now I have a 3way set in the front and 2way in the back to replace as they are shot. I have decided that a 10" DCON is what will be out back. I just hafta figure out which way to go on mid/high. If I ask stupid/tired questions please bare wth me. Thanks, Kevin

Hello everybody just got a single Sundown E-15 v.3 and putting it in a 4.00 cu ft slot ported box with a Hifonics BRX1116.1D 1100 watt amp should bump preety good. The last system i had was not vary good i had two pyle 12s 250 watt rms subs with a 1000 watt crunch amp one of them stoped working after about 4 months.

Hello everyone, I am just getting back in to car audio after 18 years . I have a 95 Accord Wagon that I am slowly building. Most of my equipment is from the mid to late 90s lol. I was a Kicker fan boy back then. Here is what I currently own, HeadUnit- Pioneer DEH-P9200 Subs- 12 NIB 10" Kicker Solo Barics (old round c series and d series) Components- 6.5 Kicker Resolution Series. Only item installed is the Pioneer Headunit. Big 3 is done and have ran 1/0 to the trunk.

New here i like checking out new forums i'm in and out of term pro alot and have competed in db drag for some years now. I own a audio shop and like I said I like to keep my ear to the ground on new products and techniques. I currently am waiting to get my new ride out but in the past I've ran DD,Image, crossfire, re, premier,us,lanzar(one of my favorites), and alot of other crap.. last year I ran a 96 cavi with 3 lighting strike 15" in a wall with 19 cubes and bout 300 sq of port it ran 149.9 daily lol i love my sleepers. hope to see what this forums like

I recently purchased a SSA Evil 18in sub, and a 3k rms amp. my first ever real set up so im pretty new to car audio. but i have a question and in need of advice. when i turn up the volume it almost sounds like the subwoofer is bottoming out or making a clicking noise. is this normal or do i need to lower the power on it. or is there more to it than just that?

Just threw two x18 v.2s in my Yukon in a 15 cu ft box on an SCV4000. Very impressive, but I developed coil rub after just a month. It's really strange because there is no felt rub when you press down on the cone.. Actually, it only rubs when the coil is cold. After I pump one second of true RMS to it, there is magically no rub.. The other sub is fine. I monitor the clipping light religiously and the only time I see a red flash is on the attack peak of bass notes. From what I have researched, a slightly flashing clipping light is pretty normal and a fast flashing light is slightly overpowered. New poster to the forum. I was away from car audio for 12 years or so but I gave in to the bug again in the last 6 months. I am shopping for a new sub at this time. Waiting on the GCON to be re-released, as I have been looking at many different subs and it seems to be the best fit in my price range. I bought a JL 12w3 last year but my car audio rust was showing, as I bought it on ebay and it blew with no abuse. Now I am looking to do it right this time and landed here at SSA.

Just checking in. The last amp I installed in my own car was a Hifonics that was made in the USA and MB Quarts were the speakers to have. Yup, I'm gonna say it, times have changed. After a few weeks of catching up on what has been going on in the car audio world for the last 20+ years, by lurkin' the forums, I landed here. I'd like to say "Thank You" to all of SSA for providing a great place to gather information, ideas and purchase equipment.

I started out in car audio back in 1989 with a pair of 12” MTX Terminators powered by a Fosgate Punch amp with a Clarion head unit and a Clarion EQ. I’ve owned many systems over the years and am now just getting back into car audio.
