Hey guys, im new to the whole car audio scene and this is the first car audio forum i have been a member at. Thanks to my boy ronrico for lettin me kno about the forum and all these great companies (FI, AA, Sundown...ect.), and teaching me everything i know(I still have a ways to go). I will soon be running a 15" Havoc on a Sundown 1500d, and I also will be using a SAX 100.2 for my Mids/Highs Setup. Hi, I am effse7en (like spell check). I have a 98 Chevy Malibu, with an Alpine CDA-105 head unit and an Alpine Type-R 12" running off of an Eclipse XA-1200 amp. It's alright, but I think I might sell the setup to a friend and get 2 SA-8's on about 1000 watts. I found SSA because I was actually looking into the SA-8, and found the post about the pre-sale. Hey guys. Now that i have my new sub and amp on the way (SKAR Audio 12" subwoofer and Sundown Audio SAX-1200D), i wanted to post a thread that might ask for clarification on the theory of what everyone refers to as " 10% is the Equipment and 90% is the Installation". What exactly does this mean? I mean, obviously, i would imagine that the box within which you place your subwoofer will make a huge difference. The grade of wiring you use will make a difference. All of the level adjustments made on the amplifier will make a big difference. I just want to ensure that i get the best sound out of my new purchase, and if 90% of what is to be expected is in the installation i wan…

Apparently our first three posts are supposed to be here, so I want to jump right in, haha. Don't judge, but I want to wall two fifteens in my 2001 Jetta. I have very minimal experience sadly, and don't care about ruining the car too much.
