Newbie Sign IN

Hi everyone.. I'm a (almost) 42 year old from Ada, Michigan. I've been fascinated with car audio since I was 16. I worked at a car audio retailer for a while, and continue to install as a hobby. I love to design and build subwoofer enclosures. I'm constantly trying different woofer /enclosure combos, which drives my wife up the wall. I truly enjoy listening to different setups in different vehicles.. Every system has its own quirks and qualities, which is what car audio should be about, and what makes it so fun. I drive an '06 KIA Spectra, with a healthy mix of older and newer gear. Glad to be here.. Ken

Hello from louisiana. I have been lurking here for a few weeks after being introduced to the forum by a friend. I doubt he is a member, he lurks alot. The main reason I am here is because of Sundowns SA-8, it seems to be an extremely impressive woofer and 8s have been my preference for woofers as long as I can remember. I have read most of the stickys you guys have posted and learned quite a bit from it, and I really like the way this forum is laid out. This seems to be the best audio forum I have seen and I would like to thank you guys for the effort put into making it what it is. New to the board. Ended up here because I am looking for a new 12 and was looking through the black friday deals. Been on some other car audio pages for a long time. Never had anything all that fancy though.

New to the forum, I just ordered a pair of GCON 12" D4 to be powered by a pair of Infinity Kappa One amps. They'll be going in a new box that I plan to build which will sit in the trunk of my 2011 Dodge Charger R/T.

Hello quick question involving wiring two 2ohm subs to an amp. If the amp is rated for 3000 watts at 1 ohm mono, how would one wire the subs to reach 2500-3000 watts? Should it be wired regulary or bridged?

Sup SSA, located in concord, if anyone is in the area of concord maybe you've seen my 03 White Tahoe rolling around. I just removed most of my setup. I currently have 2 18" Fi BTLs, 9.5cuft box tuned at 35hz,1 Kinetik Hc2000, 2 Audiopipe ap30001ds, Hifonics Txi4408, RE & Kenwood components, Pioneer Deh-5100ub, All Stinger Wiring. I have a box under my back seat that has a mounting depth of 6.7 inches... i am thinking about getting two fi x 12s, i have a 4000 watt mono block autotek amp.. any better ideas on woofers?
