Hey guys, I'm new to the ssa community and I just had a question about whether I would be better off with 2 12's (most likely fi q 12's ported and tuned low) or one really loud 15 (most likely a DC xl 15)..obviously ported.. Ok first of all, ill start with the basics..I drive a Volkswagen jetta so the most I can squeeze is 3.5-4 cu. ft...and for power I've got the audioque 2200d and a 220 ho alternator with 1 red top (starter battery) and the big 3 with 4 Ga...now given my trunk is relatively small..I would probably be better off with 3.5 cu. Ft. Recommended for the DC xl but..its taller and would most likely not have enough air space to bounce back off of my trunk lid or…

I came here because I really like SSA, sundown, and FI stuff. But here's a rundown of my setup in a 2004 dodge ram. I have boston acoustic door speakers, a kenwood receiver, pure 1500d subwoofer amp running a alpine type r black cone (1000w rms) in a fox box. Now can i ask questions yet, or do I have to wait?

Hi guys, i am fairly new to this so all/any help would be useful. i have a Optima 55 battery and the problem is that everytime i really test my car on Termlab the battery starts to clip/cutoff. The voltage drops from 14.4V to 11.8V. What can be causing this problem. My car runs on the IASCA format and does a 150.5dB in the Rookie Int. Class. the car clips at 150.5. I am really eager to know what this could be. Looking forward to your help guys. Thanks.

Hello all from Oregon. Been in car audio for years, and have just now pulled my head out, and damn, there is a whole other world out here. Funniest thing is, over my past year of planning, and doing research for my build, I end up here via one link or another, so instead of more time wasted, I figured I'd join, and see where it goes.

Hello SSA forums, glad to be a new member here! I just ordered a 10" GCON (dual 4 ohm, for a sealed box), and was curious as to what types of RMS levels it would take to work well? I know it takes up to 750 WRMS, I was just curious how well it would do with less than that, as I still need to get an amp for it, and money is an issue. it will be in a 2003 Saturn Ion, no sound deadening, and it is a daily driver, so I was looking for decent sound quality, with the ability to thump if need be on occasion. On a related note, would either Soundstream PN1.650D, or a Crunch PZA1500.1 be better for this sub? I'm open to other amplifiers, but I was looking to spend under $150, and…

Hi folks, new poster but old owner of a q12 sub. I love the driver but I can't use it right now because my bonehead buddy tore the surround with his finger lifting the sub up one day. There's a 1" horizontal tear in the surround now and I'd like to know if I can repair it or if I have to send it in for a recone. Also, it's an older dual stack motor, is there a way to figure out the options on it without tearing it apart? Thanx for any help.

Whats going on guys? Tito here just wanting to say whats up . I came across the forum by looking up estimated delivery time for the Fi SP4 i ordered a few days ago. I own an 85 mazda rx7 and a 2004 cadillac deville. The 85 rx7 has a simple setup with 2 kicker l5 12s in a prefab ported box, using a jl slash 500 to power them. The 04 deville has 2 sundown X8 in a 4th order bandpads enclosure, powered by a hifonics zues amp, soon to be replaced with 1 Fi SP4 18" in a custom 6.5 cu enclosure tuned to 31hz. I look foward to chatting with u all and learning some new ideas.

Was just referred to SAS by some friends on reddit. Here to learn and seek advice for my ride. Just reading some of the threads and it's apparent there is some serious knowledge here. I'm not sure if I should post my questions in this introduction thread or not, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I'm putting together my second install and this time it's going to be a little better. The first one was Rockford Fosgate using stock head unit. It was for my son's car and it's not too bad. Better than what he had at least lol. This time I want to put together something for my vehicle. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. It's a base model. I want to try to …

Hey all. New guy to the forum but not to stereos. I fell in love with bass when I was 12 and built my first system in my sisters car at 14. Built multiple stereos for multiple reasons and now I'm at it again soon starting my astro build. The final outcome plan is still in the air as we all know when starting these rhings they usually go on with more and more being added. Fell in love with ascendant audio a few years back when I met a guy who had 6 15 inch havocs in a truck. Well I contacted him about ordering some 18 inch havocs (4) and ill be ordering one thing at a time for the slow build considering I'm a family guy with kids and that comes first but as I get work don…
