Hello all from Oregon. Been in car audio for years, and have just now pulled my head out, and damn, there is a whole other world out here. Funniest thing is, over my past year of planning, and doing research for my build, I end up here via one link or another, so instead of more time wasted, I figured I'd join, and see where it goes.

Hello I'm definitely new to the whole forum deal but am told this is THE best place to learn about car audio. I am wanting to learn as much as possible in order to better myself in the car audio industry and make this hobby into a life style! Extremely eager to learn as much as possible from people that already know their bizz. Tired of ignorant arrogant people that just get mad at you for being wrong. I would rather be told I'm wrong and why I'm wrong that way I can learn from it and further better myself in this fast growing industry. I appreciate all of the feed back everyone gives and the learning process won't be easy but it wouldn't be any fun if it was! Thanks to e…

Hi guys, i am fairly new to this so all/any help would be useful. i have a Optima 55 battery and the problem is that everytime i really test my car on Termlab the battery starts to clip/cutoff. The voltage drops from 14.4V to 11.8V. What can be causing this problem. My car runs on the IASCA format and does a 150.5dB in the Rookie Int. Class. the car clips at 150.5. I am really eager to know what this could be. Looking forward to your help guys. Thanks.

Hello SSA forums, glad to be a new member here! I just ordered a 10" GCON (dual 4 ohm, for a sealed box), and was curious as to what types of RMS levels it would take to work well? I know it takes up to 750 WRMS, I was just curious how well it would do with less than that, as I still need to get an amp for it, and money is an issue. it will be in a 2003 Saturn Ion, no sound deadening, and it is a daily driver, so I was looking for decent sound quality, with the ability to thump if need be on occasion. On a related note, would either Soundstream PN1.650D, or a Crunch PZA1500.1 be better for this sub? I'm open to other amplifiers, but I was looking to spend under $150, and…

I came here because I really like SSA, sundown, and FI stuff. But here's a rundown of my setup in a 2004 dodge ram. I have boston acoustic door speakers, a kenwood receiver, pure 1500d subwoofer amp running a alpine type r black cone (1000w rms) in a fox box. Now can i ask questions yet, or do I have to wait?

My dads sending me a new Fi BL15 in a month or so and he's leaving it up to me to find an amp to match its 1000w rms. It has the dual 2-ohm coil option also. I'm trying to find a decent amp that will push it for under $200, i know its a stretch, but if anybody can help me out I'd appreciate it.

Was just referred to SAS by some friends on reddit. Here to learn and seek advice for my ride. Just reading some of the threads and it's apparent there is some serious knowledge here. I'm not sure if I should post my questions in this introduction thread or not, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I'm putting together my second install and this time it's going to be a little better. The first one was Rockford Fosgate using stock head unit. It was for my son's car and it's not too bad. Better than what he had at least lol. This time I want to put together something for my vehicle. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. It's a base model. I want to try to …

Hey, I'm Andrew I'm not new to bass but I am new to building systems. I've researched and read a lot on this forum and on some other car audio forums. I've been around systems my whole life, anything from surround sound, car audio to 100k watts of bass at an EDM festival. I guess you could say im addicted to low frequencies. I've already started my build, that's what brings me here. I placed an order for an SSA Xcon 15" a few days ago so I figured I'd sign up on here aswell. So currently I have bought: SSA Xcon 15' dual 2ohm Audioque 2200d (Brand new 343 shipped) I looked at sundowns too but for the price I couldn't pass the audioque up. Pioneer AVH-x5500bhs Items needed:…

Newbie here saying hello from Michigan. I have been watching the SSA forum for a few months and have learned alot of new stuff just from reading. Car audio has been a hobby of mine since I could drive (only 7 years but hey). Soon I will be starting a new build on my 2003 Dodge Durango and thought it would a fun idea to post it here in the builds section. Thank You, Sean

I here. Let the fun begin. For those that do not know me, I have been involved in Car Audio for a little over 8 years. Been involved with Cars for even longer. I have carried ASE Certification for Advanced Automotive Wiring, and am Currently a Mechanic and Webmaster. I am the Owner/Administrator of Soundwaves Car Stereo (www.soundwavescs.net), and have been for the last 2 or so years. Gradually it is evolving into not only a community and technical resource, but I am also going to be offering Car Audio Gear for sale, and a fair price for everyone. Through Soundwaves Car Stereo, I have also done several installations for people in my area, and have a pretty broad r…
