Hello, So let me just get this out of the way; For the gramer nazis, this will be my one and only apology. I know my spelling is bad. Matter of fact I've made 4 smart phones dumb with how bad it is... Im so sorry!! Anyway's I have 2 vehicle's that are in desperate need of new audio equipment. I have a 99 Toyota Camry and 01 Toyota Tacoma extended cab. Both have totally stock audio equipment. Both head units are stock tape/cd dubble dins. Im limited to use of the FM stations. on the camery I'm pretty sure all but one of the speakers are blown . So my plan is to find a setup that works well, that I can pretty much duplicate to some extent.… -

What up guy's! So, I need some tuning help/opinions. Vehicle is a 1996 jeep grand cherokee. I have a pair of evil 6.5's, and a pair of evil 1 tweets running off a nvx jad 800.4. Also, have a dayton dsp408. Midbass is mounted in stock location in the doors. Doors are deadened and sealed of as best as I could. Haven't fully installed tweeters yet, but they are wired up. Stock location for tweeters are in the dash. Is this a bad spot for the evils, or is there maybe somewhere better for them? Also, was wondering if anyone had crossover suggestions for the evil mids and tweets. I'm really not sure what steps I need to take as far as the tuning goes. Any opinions are welcome. … -

Hello everyone, I’m Eddie and it’s refreshing to find a helpful and informative car audio forum like yours. I started out in car audio back in 1989 with a pair of 12” MTX Terminators powered by a Fosgate Punch amp with a Clarion head unit and a Clarion EQ. I’ve owned many systems over the years and am now just getting back into car audio. I’m looking forward to learning more about the current brands and technology that’s come out the last few years while getting to know everyone here. -

Quick search and I didn’t find an answer to this easy question so I’ll ask here: If I go with US Acoustics Barbara Ann 100x4 @ 4 ohm amp how can I wire 2 Evil tweets and 2 Evil midbasses? I was figuring buy the tweets in 8 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 50W from two channels active and get the midbasses in 4 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 100W from the other two channels active. Is that how it works? Is each load independent on each channel thus getting independent power from the amplifier? This seems obvious but I’m not sure. -

Hi all, It's been over a decade since I've been into car audio. Thinking about restarting in stealth mode with a shallow mount sub. No longer a basshead and been out so long. Can't believe the Brahma is back. I "donated" a Mk I when I moved a few years back. -

Hey everyone first time posting so hopefully not doing it wrong. My question is has anyone had issues using jl fix 86. I have 17 Silverado with factory Bose. Only thing factory I’m using is the head unit the issue I have is my mids have always been kinda flat I’m pretty certain it’s a calibration issue it always says it’s calibrated and all lights green but I literally returned speakers thinking something was wrong with them then discovered re calibrating the fix will make it sound different sometimes but always shows it calibrated. I’m thinking maybe different vehicles may require extra steps to acomplish proper calibration. I did get it a little better by turning gains… -

Hey guys, new guy here from Mid MO. I have always enjoyed car audio, and look forward to learning more. I have a 03 Lexus GS300, I am about halfway through a budget build. I use my car for long trips for work and having good overall sound and being able to go loud and with not terrible quality is my goal. I am not a SQ guy but I do appreciate quality and balance, but don't mind a good bass thump too time to time. I am on a hard budget and i will let you know what i have set aside for which part of the upgrade, for the next series of upgrades. My current setup is as follows. Kenwood Excelon DDX775BH H/U Front doors: NVX VSP65KIT (Component w/crossover… -

Hello everyone. After reading through new member rules and regulations, I can see this is a no-nonsense group. Good, I'll get right to it. This install started as I have aquired (3) 4' x 8' sheets of 1" MDF and like my music louder than necessary and typically in the rock/rap genres. On top of the material and shop to work in, I have all the tools required for making a good system (table saw, trim gun, router, electrical meters, function generator, D/C power supply, oscilloscope, etc.) And the know-how to use these tools correctly. Here's my parameters for the project. 2004 Nissan Armada with 44"W x 24"H x 26"D to work with. $1000 to spend on this, I know… -

Found this site looking for ideas for my 2013 f150 platinum. Currently running alpine mv 500 to two alpine bass 10". And alpine mv 500 four channel to front jbl gto component speakers. After reading the noobie warnings, I will be looking around trying to not get booted. As I have a lot to learn. So, I'll be lurking in the shadows. -

Im still accumulating some parts but most of the big stuff is done. Anyhoo im happy to be here and look forward to learning from you all. -

Looking for some recommendations for a head unit. So, what I will be working with is 4 evil1 tweets, 4 evil65 mids, and 2 nvx800.4 amps to power them. One amp will power all mids, and the other will power the tweets. 2 or 3 15 inch subs will come later. Almost decided on the hellions. But, anyways I want to run an active setup in my 96 jeep grand cherokee. I thought about using the amps crossovers instead of a head unit. I also considered an audio control matrix plus since I will be using y splinters and do not want to lose any rca output. What head unit would anyone recommend for this setup? Also, if using the nvx 800.4 crossover is a bad idea, is there another setup tha… -

Hey guy's! As the title states I am new to the forum. This is my first post on any forum, so....be easy on me on this post and future posts lol. So just wanted to say wassup and glad I found SSA! I have been reading threads on every sight imaginable, just reading and learning about the do's and don'ts of car audio. Also, a ton about different brands and all that good stuff. Stumbled upon SSA and heard nothing but awesome reviews and personal experiences with the company as a whole. Again, glad I found them! After drooling over pictures of several SSA products for 2 years, I finally purchased my first ssa products. Just got 4 evil 6.5 mids and they look awesome! They aren'… -

I ordered some 4 ohm evil6.5 mids and evil1 tweeters to go with a JAD900.5 amplifier in my 2016 Subaru impreza. SSA says they are out of 4 ohm tweeters. Should I be patient and wait for 4 ohm tweeters to get back in stock or just go for 8 ohm tweeters and 4 ohm mids? The JAD900.5 outputs 75 Watts RMS into 4 ohms -
