Just sayin hey for my first post here

Howdy folks! My name is Ken, and I'm from Ada, Michigan. At 41 I've seen and heard alot in car audio. I spent a few years installing in local shops and in my garage. My first system consisted of: a Hitachi 321AR tape deck. a Concord CA30-4 amp, a pair of Polk 6x9's in the rear deck, and a pair of Bazooka 6 1/2" Bass Tubes in the trunk. That stuff was transported in a '77 Chrysler Cordoba (I was 18..). These days, I roll around in a 2006 KIA Spectra. I'm constantly experimenting with my gear, trying new ideas and components. Hey ya'll, finally done enough lurking to (hopefully) not embarrass myself. I'm 27, from Yazoo MS, and own a Monument shop. That's right, tombstones. I've been into car audio since i was 10, and have been building race trucks/mud trucks since i was 14. I have the same problem that I imagine many people have when they first find SSA. Well i come from SoCalSPL.com. I own two car's My 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Boewer, on F5 24" rim's. Hi all. I just purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram crew cab laramie and am looking to outfit it with a nice SQ oriented sound system. My first truck was an old 97 f150 single cab with a full memphis setup. My second truck was an 07 sport trac with CDT es-62i components and a jl8w3 ported sub. I am not a total newb when it comes to car audio but at the same time there is always room to learn more and that is what I plan on doing as I ask questions about what I should run in this setup. This site looks very promising.

Hi This i what i'm working with: 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Quad Cab Big 3 upgraded 2- 15" fi BL 2- kicker zx1000.1 3/4" MDF custom center console box with 5.6 cuft of airspace after sub disp, bracing, and port. Would love to have a bigger box, but space is LIMITED. No divider between subs/ subs share air space Single Slot Port is 15.5" x 3" and 14.75" long (around 32 hz?) Subs will be down firing and port will face up. Definitely SPL Questions: 1- Are the port dimensions correct for a 32 hz tune? I keep getting different measurements depending on the port calc I use. Im running a FI BTL 12 on an AQ2200d. I was going down the road the sub hit 3 times and static came in then it stopped all together & Started smoking. Now its not doing anything at all. not playing or putting out anysound? what do i do? will a recone fix this?

Hello, I just recently took interest in the car audio world for the sake of my husband. Been lurking the forums for quite some time and feel like it is time to speak up and gain some more knowledge.

What's up guys? Love the site and all the good info. I just put a small setup in my truck, now I fell back into the vicious cylce of it never being loud enough. So, now I'm thinkin of doing a wall, lol. Will keep you posted on what I decide or possibly a build thread.
