MattB here, North Fla. Looking forward to learning alot! Been around car audio since my high school days (80's), but just 'entry level' I guess you could say. I have been on the hunt for a while now for equipment. I read a post about a SS sub on another bbs, and came to check it out. Wow, I am impressed..and I dont know half of nothing when it comes to car audio. hey guys gotta couple questions right off the bat, in my car i have a 4 channel amp for my speakers and a mono block amp for my sub, i dont know what the hz's and stuff on the amps do, is there any way i can tweak them to make my speakers and sub slap louder? i dont know anything bout the hz's hahaha plz help me. i have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794 for my deck, Focal Access 165CA1 in the front, and a 13JLw6 with a jl XD600/1 mono block amp and a JL J2-320.4 for my speakers if that helps you guys help me. cause on my deck theres so many setting i dont even what to mess with. i would like my vocals to really loud and my sub to hit real hard, please help Thanks!

Whassup peepols!!! I was lurking a little and I see alot of familiar names from caraudio.com so what is SSA? Is this a rouge group of unhappy caraudio members? Who runs this place? I notice you guys go into more than just audio. Is this a big place? How long has SSA been around? Jerry

Well i come from SoCalSPL.com. I own two car's My 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Boewer, on F5 24" rim's. My sounds are 2 DC Enginering Alt's a 260 SP and a 400SP. 1 XS battery D3100 under the hood and a pair of XS D6500 in the rear, under the second row seat. Alpine type R all around. Amp's are Sundown 100.4, and a big boy Sundown 4500. A pair of DC LVL 5 18" at .5 ohms in a custom ported box. All wire is 0/2 harris welding cable. Hey guys. Finally decided to post somethin so I just registered, which i guess makes me a newby? Anyway, I am definitely enjoying my RL-P 15. It is currently in a simple 2cuft box running off a SoundStream Reference 500sx. I will be switching cars soon which explains the simple box. This sub gets good and loud and I haven't even done any tuning or messing around w location. The quickness is incredible. My front stage consists of CDT EF-51 components and dayton 8's for midbass. I need a complete new system so it's good that I was able to find this site b4 i made any reckless purchases. I need 2front and 2back speakers replaced. I also want a sub n amp that kicks HARD when i need it to but i can control the amount of bass easily. I've been looking at a single 12" VS12L7 kicker sub (2-OHM) in a SOLO-BARIC BOX with a HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1608D 1600-Watt D-Class. Would this b a good combo for what I need? (sorry if my description on these 2 things dnt add up cuz i'm not sure wat any of this means). im also gonna need a new radio btw but i'll worry about that later

Oh well, Hello SSA! I am a newb that doesnt know jack squat!

so here is how i found this site. being from charlotte nc i knew about sundown and SI. i blew up my kicker kx1200.1 yesterday and not wanting that nasty sloppy power it was giving out decided to get a sundown 1000d. i picked it up about an hour and a half ago plus some 0ga wire. i have to say it isnt as powerful as the kicker but the soud difference is night and day. the kicker was very sloppy and had a very uncontrolled sound to it, if that makes any sense. the sundown has surprised me in clarity and the output is plenty for my 2 type r 12's. now its just time to rebuild my box because its put together like crap, and sounds like it to.

Stopping by to say hello. Im from TX and run old school HiFonics amps of the VIII and have some VII stuff as well. Always looking to pick up those amps so if you know anyone selling them please let me know. Thanks, Eric

I'm on CAF by the same name, it's gone screwy so I've popped over here. That's basically it...is there a protocol for this site like you have to be here for x amount of days before you can offer advice or weird stuff like that? My "system" if you can call it that, right now is two SSD's in a ported box off a hifonics bxi 1606d with type r comps of a PG 250.2. Within the month is going to completely change to a 10" BL off a cadence txa1000d, phoenix gold ti6's or if I can get the fundage Focal k2ps, off a cadence txa 3002. Fully deadened doors, amp racks and everything...I'll keep ya'll posted.
