  1. Hello there, community. This is the first time I’ve actually joined an audio community and posted/commented within a thread. I’ve browsed many threads on various forums, which include the SSA forums, and I’ve actually gathered quite a bit of useful information/knowledge from doing so. I’ve had multiple sound systems throughout the years, which I have learned through trial and error some valuable tricks and what not to dos haha. My most recent system is the only one I haven’t actually fully wired and setup myself, because my vehicle has a dash/head unit that can’t be removed and doesn’t have a wiring harness. I let an audio shop install a sound processor (I’ve never r…

  3. hello all for my 01 Pontiac Bonneville se, daily driver, I am in need of your suggestions for a complete system. my listening tastes are disco, HUGE house/techno listener, reggae, jazz, hip hop, and easy listening music!! 2-12 subs (no clue what to get), 4-6.5 mids for the four doors (eye-balling the jbl ms62c for sure), only 1 amp for the subs, and 1 amp for the 6.5 mids.. a good clean head unit, a sub box, wiring, etc, and interested in having a parametric eq to tweak the sound as I listen to various types of music. really not interested in setting off car alarms! but definitely want to bang pretty good as im on the hwy.. key importance is sound quality, clarity, and a…

  4. First let me start off by saying that i am a huge fan of this forum. I have been snooping around for quite a while before i signed up to be a member. I am a big supporter of companies like Sundown Audio, SSA, IA, because i feel like it is a better product that is the underdog in the mainstream person's eye. I am ready for a new set-up because i down-sized to a 4 door honda civic from a larger SUV. I am looking for a single 12" subwoofer with good SPL that i can use in a daily driver application. I will be running the sub off of either a SAZ-1000d or the new SAX-1200d at either 1 ohm or 2ohms, whichever meets the subwoofer's specifications better. I am very interested in t…

My setup in my 1999 Dakota is a Alpine PDX-5, JX 1000/1, Alpine R components in front, pioneer TSDs in the back, and i used to have a 5th gen type R that blew on 1000 watts. I was planning on being pleasantly surprised when i bought an american sub from an american company SSA but its been 3 days since my card has been charged and my SA-12 still says Awaiting Fulfillment and my messages are not getting any replies :(

Hey everyone, my name is Josh LaFountain (Mark LaFountains brother) from Baton Rouge, LA. I used to compete very heavily (Team S.P.E.A.D ) in USACi super stock and street beat. Spent about 4 years in the hobby then sold it all to help fund college. But now im getting back in bigger than ever! I used to have an ext. cab Ranger with a pair of Hifonics Goliaths, 5 batts, and 3 RE MT 15's. Spent 4 years doing nothing but burping 52Hz and tweaking every single moving part to get that extra dB. But now im fed up with that and wanna build a complete monstrous ground pounder. So I'm coming out to see Mark in phoenix soon and hopefully we can do an extreme makeover truck edition…

Hello everyone. After reading through new member rules and regulations, I can see this is a no-nonsense group. Good, I'll get right to it. This install started as I have aquired (3) 4' x 8' sheets of 1" MDF and like my music louder than necessary and typically in the rock/rap genres. On top of the material and shop to work in, I have all the tools required for making a good system (table saw, trim gun, router, electrical meters, function generator, D/C power supply, oscilloscope, etc.) And the know-how to use these tools correctly. Here's my parameters for the project. 2004 Nissan Armada with 44"W x 24"H x 26"D to work with. $1000 to spend on this, I know…

Hello, I am in a serious situation here. So, my buddy and I are into this car audio thing. (You'd have to be from Iowa to understand that its looked down upon.) So, he has his two SA-12's on a SAX-1200. And they hit. So, the main thing I was wondering, was what would basically give him a run for his money? I have considered 2 Fi SSD 15's, 2 SA-15's(out of the question, I don't wanna be the homo who copies him), and the main choice I'm complimenting at the moment is a single 15" on a SAX-1200. Possibly an Icon 15"? Any input is abliged. Thanks! -Austin

Quick search and I didn’t find an answer to this easy question so I’ll ask here: If I go with US Acoustics Barbara Ann 100x4 @ 4 ohm amp how can I wire 2 Evil tweets and 2 Evil midbasses? I was figuring buy the tweets in 8 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 50W from two channels active and get the midbasses in 4 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 100W from the other two channels active. Is that how it works? Is each load independent on each channel thus getting independent power from the amplifier? This seems obvious but I’m not sure.
