I'm planning a system. So far, it's gonna be a havoc 12 with some sort of sundown powering it. Here's my issue: when it comes to ohms and all that other stuff, I'll admit I get a little confused. I was planning my system based on a simple premise: If amplifier A puts out X amount of watts at 2ohms, and you pair it with a 2ohm sub, you would get X amount of watts. Easy enough, right? Well now, I'm getting the impression that things go further than that. I had planned on getting a sundown 3500D amp, considering it puts out 1,750w at 2ohms. That with the 12" havoc 2ohm sub would be a nice fit, right? (AA states the havoc to be 1,250RMS and I could go easy on the amp power) B…

I am looking at both of these units' specs. The J.L. lists 75 watts per channel at 11.4 volts, the Sundown seems to list 100 watts per channel at 14.4 volts. When I say seems to; it lists testing voltage at 14.4.I would like to know if the 100.4d was tested at 14.4 volts, and if so what would be the rated wattage at 11.4 volts. Apples to apples. Also the signal to noise ratio is much different for these two units. If anyone can tell me at what output these tests were run for each unit.I understand the there is a good chance only the manufacturers know these answers, and they may not want to tell. I also would like to know where Sundown Audio manufactures their products…

Hey everyone! Guess I'll start with the basics: Car: 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2 (Basically stock, although I would like to mod it for performance somewhat) Stereo: HU: Kenwood something or other with USB and aux on the front (not bad, but planning on switching out for a Clarion touchscreen) Infinity Kappa coax 6.5s in the front doors (2-way) Infinity Kappa coax 6x9s on the back deck (2 way) Some random Kenwood 12s in the trunk (bought em off a friend that was getting out of the army and needed the cash) Autotek 4-way (200 total, I can't remember the model or exact specs, it's been a while) Kenwood 8013D for the subs Me: Deployed (yes, it's ghey), and will be without my…

Hello, I'm the proud owner of the following... SAZ1000D SAX50.4 I've been out of car audio for a while... actually about 10 years. I've heard nothing but good things about sundown, hopefully the class D amps will live up to the old 1st and 2nd gen HCCA class A stuff I'm used to!

Just wanted to say hi to the forum. I am new to this forum but have been into car audio for around 20 years. I have to say that this is one of the best forums I have seen for car stereos. I am getting a truck soon and am getting ready for a new system. I have my components and 3 amps from my last set up, just need to decide on the rest of the equipment after I get the vehicle.

What's up everybody? The name's Tre'. I'm from Columbia, South Carolina. I signed up after hearing about these forums at a sound comp in Sumter, SC. Shout out to Gary [banginALTIMA], Jacob, Paul [12-12's in Cherokee], and my homie Rowshard who introduced me to Fi Audio. Fi is on another level as far as sound quality and sound pressure go. I've heard all kind of subs - Kicker, Memphis Audio, JL Audio, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer, MTX... and to be honest, those are good subs, but Fi, RE, SSA, and Sundown subs are...well you have to hear and FEEL them to really get an impression of them. I already picked out my system when I start working again... Panasonic CQ-C7000U 2…
