Hello everybody, my name is Philip Stanfield (also user name, creative, huh?), joining from Memphis, TN. Just to say a little about myself, I currently do NOT have a car . BUT will be buying one sometime this or next month. I totaled my Ford Ranger back in November of last year, and haven't had the money to get a new car since. I currently am attending the University of Memphis, and am a freshman. My setup is currently in my female-interest's car, it was in my Ranger before that. It consists of a Pioneer Premier DEH-P350 headunit, stock door speakers, Soundstream Stealth 1.1200d amp, 2 Orion HP12d4's wired to 1 ohm in a 2^3 ft per chamber box, ported, tuned to 38 hz, Mas…

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I was really into car audio about 15 years ago, but a wife and kids pulled me away. I have recently got the itch again, and I have been reading everything I can to catch up on what has been going on. This forum has been a big help so far, and I'm sure it will continue to be in the future. Thanks, and glad to be here.

I have been into car audio since I was 15, so almost 9 years now. But for the past 4yrs I have been married and no longer allowed anything to do with a stereo. Now due to other wonderful events in life (sarcasm) I am going thru a divorce. Time to catch up with the audio world and this time I can afford to go big. Spent most of my time on SIN/carstereos.org imsolost7886 over there also. Know quite a few of the guys on here from there, but again its been awhile so it'll be nice catching up with you guys also. Hopefully soon enough, I'll be back to answering questions instead of asking a bunch. Spent a good 10hrs between yesterday and this morning doing a lot of reading. Sti…

My wife drives a 2003 Honda Accord V6 sedan. She has a 300 watts RMS at 2 ohm on the 5 channel amp and wants a sub. I was on DIYMA and someone suggested I look into the 12" SSA DCON. I read the specs and did some searching. The price fit our budget but my question is...how will this sound with 300 watts at 2 ohm in a sealed for example 1.0 to 1.20 cubic ft sealed box? I read that people prefer the ported box but I am looking for something sealed but I am open for suggestions. I was looking into one of these: Single 12" Sealed MDF Enclosure (12SQTC) 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Installation &am…
