Yeah, kinda forgot to introduce myself before posting but hi all. I've seen a lot of car audio people from many diff websites come here, so I figured I'd join up. I have a decent knowledge of subs and electronics and all that but I always try to learn more and end up confusing my self, hah. But yeah whats up?

Hey, I'm new to the world of subs/amps and all this. I am buying a new truck soon, don't have a good sound system, I'm wondering what would be good for someone like me I LOVE bass, absolutely love it. What combination of subs/amps would suffice? And can anyone make a guide on how to set it all up once I get the subs/amp? If you need me to be more descriptive about what I like, I can be. something around 2000 watts(both subs together) would be great. (remember I know nothing about subs except that they produce lovely bass)

In reference to a previous post about 2 Fi BTL18's. My max outer demension are 42 wide x 36 tall x 26 deep. This would be a wall enclosure in the back of a mini-suv. I want to mount the 2 18's on the 42x36 wall. I figured that the box would have enough ft3 but will the 42x36 be enough wood area to mount the 2 subs and have room for a port. The subs would have to mount side by side on the 42 and the port would go above them. I'm afraid that the holes are going to be so big that there won't be any wood left for support

I am building a system and starting off slow. My first purchase as far as amps and subs will be a SAZ-3000 and a Dual 2ohm BTL18. It will be wired at 1ohm for the 3000 rms. I would like to expand on this later with another SAZ-3000 and BLT18 for a combined 6000 rms. I have never strapped 2 amps before and I'm trying to make sure I buy the correct sub to start off with. I understand the impedance for a single amp system but I'm confused as to how it works when you start strapping amps together. What would my impedance be with the two amps strapped and two Dual 2ohm subs? I'm looking for a final 2 ohms since this is what the strapped amps are rated at. This has probably be…

hello ppl. i was just wondering if someone could give me a little bit of advice. i have a 93 dodge shadow that im thinkin about gettin a system for. it will be a daily use system but i like my bass to hit hard and i was thinkin about goin with 2 12" btl d2's but dont really have any idea as far as an amp. question, would it be better to get one amp and bridge the 2 subs to it or get an amp for each sub. and if someone has the dimensions for a ported box tuned to 32hz for the 2 12" d2 btl's plz let me know them. the type of music i listen to mostly is rap but i do have a few bass cd's like= Knights of Bass, Bass Mechaniks, Bass Patrol and a few others

I like the emoticons here.. I think I'll stay. I dont actually own any of your equipment I dont think but one day I'll build a street car.. in the mean time the civic has my attention. I'm not an expert in any field just building a car. I might start a build log here, I dunno. Seems like a nice forum though. I was born on Christmas 1984 my real name is Chris.. imagine that. Lol. I'm trying to get away from another forum and start posting somewhere else all the time but I havent found any very active ones. I hope this one is different.. I'm from Fort Pierce Florida and live in a little town called White City. I work for a battery and tire company locally and just getting…

Yep...Santa did it this year: 2 x 18 Fi Bl -Dual 1, Cooling, Flatwind, Daily, Non-universal. Sundown Saz-3000d (thanks acex3a) 180max/135idle Iraggi alternator ~40' of 1/0 welding wire still need to get some 1/0 battery terminals and clamps for 1/0 big three and a new battery under the hood. dunno if I want to tackle the box this time around, might just have a shop do it. planning on doing ~15 cubes after displacement, and tuned to 32 or 33 hz. I know nothing about sound acoustics, and the effects of internal design. so plain jane rectangle is gonna have to jive for now.

I am curious to know how many watts would be concidered enough in a "daily driver"? I know that the threshold of pain (in the ear) is around 120db's. What kind of watts are needed to acheive that. I have been around the car audio realm for the better part of 15 years but it has always been a "bigger is louder is better" way of thinking. I never really looked into the science of sound and why it all works. I am learning a great deal from this site. My very first system was an 18 inch cerwin vega powered by a 400 watt california profile amp and a kenwood tape deck. The last system I had was 2 15 inch type r powered by a 1000 watt phoenix gold amp and a pioneer p9. I now am…

Hello to all SSA members. My name is Nightshade here and on SMD.com as well as Team Ol Skool.com I'm also know as AllNightLong on Termpro.com So I'm not new to the forum scene, just to this one. I figured it was time to expand my knowledge to another site since the one's I'm currently on aren't enough. I'm pretty much a car audio junkie and I soundoff veteran. I'm a member of Team Sundown and also of Team Nemesis. I compete in bassrace on a regular basis. Last year I finished 8th overall in points in the 129.9 division in North America. I do participate in Db Drag as well, but it is not my passion like bassrace. This year I have started out in 139.9, and I will r…
