This is my first post on the board. Just saying hello. I am the proud new owner of a ZCON 15 as well as several other products purchased through SSA. I am 49 years old and have been fooling with this stuff for over 30 years as an amateur. I recently built my best system yet. I'm not totally a noob, but I'm no expert either. I look forward to discussing and learning about car audio.

Hey guys I've been trying to learn as much as I can before I start buying anything, and this forum is pretty sick! So far, I plan to run a single 15" ported off an audioque 1200D amp. Any thoughts on what subs to get for ~$200? I was looking into the Alpine type-R due to my budget, but now i'm kinda leaning towards SSA or AA subs....

Just got 2 team 18's(dual 2's) and plan on putting either 2 bc5500's or one 'merica 12k on them for power. I want to do a flat wall but need a little help on what size box to use, i.e. cubic feet per sub, sq in per cube for port, aero or slot, and tuning frequency. Thanks in advance for the help! Oh and space is no issue as it's going in an Astro.

hello everybody ! new to the site.. hoping toget lotsof help building my system... i have had a 05 f150 fx4 extendedcab for over a year , i currently have a jl audio 13tw5 powered by a jl audio500/1 v1 amp and a double din pioneer also a yellow top otima.... anyways i need more bass! but im lacking the space and i want to keep it daily driven, so im building a box in the center console i have arround 4.5cubes to play with... i decided to go with a 15" fi btl (ported duh) and a sundownaudio saz 2000d( already have them) i already did the big3... should i get a second battery in the back? i just found out Optima's sucks ! bigger alternator ?? i got 4ga wire rite now…

Hey everyone... been into car stereos since i was about 17, am now 22, be 23 in april. worked at the circuit city roadshop when i was 18, learned how to do the basic installs and alarms. never got into custom stuff, but have done fairly large system installs in my day. I drive a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 2wd regular cab automatic, I have done everything myself, notched the frame, raised the gas tank, lowered, welded the roll pan, tailgate handle, antenna, hood squirters, put a 2004 front clip on(core support, everything), painted the truck myself also, it was my first time doing all of this. Hello, before i begin my article I wanted to list out all the specs, measurements of everything i wanted to put in this car. To tell you I'm only 16 and i'll be getting my drivers licence soon and I wanted to put a system in right when i get this car. Electrical specs: I would be having everything from battery to alternator that was already put there during the manufactor process. So 1 200-300 volt hour battery with a regular stock alternator. I decided to post my follow up thougts in a seperate thread about the Icon 12 I have now. Initially I had decided to install the sub in my commuter car and old honda accord. I have always had response issues with this car with some cancellation in the 60-80hz range. Being unhappy with how the icon sounded in this car I decided to go a different route. I decided to put a system in my Ram3500 truck. I bought a set of Alpine type r 6.5 components an Arc audio xdi 450 amp and used a pioneer double din that I already had. I have 4 6.5 mids in the truck 1 in each door and ran the amp to create a 3 way setup with the front channels of the Arc amp running the tweeters and …
