first post to the ssa forum, really looking forward to reading as much as i can about all kinds of things concerning sound, currently drive a 03 si hatch with a few sound goodies alpha damp on the doors sides and rear hatch, set of 6.5 jbl components running about 200 watts and an apline type s 12 on 500 watts, sounds pretty ok looking for the next sub stage to replace the over sized box and perhaps pick up some lows i know i am missing.

ok so basically I bought an amp and sub and box for $650 with tax from the local car audio shop. The prices were the same as cructchfield for the amp and sub. The problem is the "universal" ported box they gave me for $50. I did a lot of research and it turns out the box needs to be specifically built for the sub or it can damage it and not hit hard enough. The sub hits pretty hard as is but it definitely doesn't feel like it's getting it's potential My sub is a JL 12w3v3-4 and the amp is an RF P500-2 My main question is: Should I take the universal box back and get a $50 credit towards the custom box (which will probably be marked up a ton) or cut my losses, try to sell …

I recently purchased a SSA Evil 18in sub, and a 3k rms amp. my first ever real set up so im pretty new to car audio. but i have a question and in need of advice. when i turn up the volume it almost sounds like the subwoofer is bottoming out or making a clicking noise. is this normal or do i need to lower the power on it. or is there more to it than just that?

Newly converted to FIcarudio products by xconcepts from caraudio i am wondering what is the min power requirement for the SSD's i will be replacing a pair JL Audio 10w3v2's in a sealed enlosure of 0.65 which are both being powered by a JL Audio 500/1 , and being unfermiliar with the FIcarudio subs , i'm wondering will a pair of 10 "SSD's work properly being connected and boxed the same way ?? The Jl's were rated 300 W each , will the amp be sufficient for these two SSD's to perform properly ? Hey guys what's up...so I'm new to all this car audio forum stuff and am trying to fumble f__k my way through this post....so here it is...I am old school and have all old school shit....I'm looking at powering this beast of a system.....I have all of this in an 04 toyota tundra access cab limited.....basically I have around 20k of power needs....I'm running 2 DVC 10's by cerwin vega...2 DVC 12's by cerwin vega...3 different cerwin 6.5 component systems...head unit is 10.6 inch touchscreen with every bell and whistle imaginable....for power I'm old school also with a lanzar 8k velocity amp..(2 channel) for the 10's...a lanzar 2.5k velocity amp...(4 channel) for components…

But if i get a 14 volt battery and my car alternator charges at 14 volts ? How well will it charge the 14 volt battery and while bumping down the road ?

I cant seem to make up my mind on the subs I am looking at. the two that have my attention are the ssa zcon 18" and the sundown z v3 18". I am waiting on my crescendo bc2000D's. leaning more towards the zcon. Amp and sub are both 2250 rms @1 ohm. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello all, My current system consists of all Kicker mids/highs in an '04 Accord. I have an Alpine MRV-M500 at 2 ohms connected to a Polk DXi DVC 12" in a sealed, rear-firing custom enclosure that measures around 1 cu ft (maybe a little more). Listen to all kinds of music, love heavy bass but am realistic with expectations from only 500 watts. I smoked the voice coil on the Polk within 4 months of installing it. It was rated for 360 watts rms and I got it in a Best Buy deal of the day sale for $40, so no big loss. I'm searching for a 4ohm dvc sub that will easily handle 500 watts from the Alpine sub amp without burning another voice coil AND will be happy in that s…

The system will consist of Tru amps, t03-250.2 (for sub) & t03-4.150 (for front tweets & mids). HU will be Clarion DRZ-9255. The speaks will be either Hybrid Audio Referernce or Seas Reference.
