delete please, I found my first thread like this, but i couldn't find it from my user CP before I made this here the first one http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=25439 Since apparently I didnt make this thread when I signed up a month or two ago, here it is. I'm Brandon, and drive a '96 gmc sonoma longbed, right now I've got 2 ultra linear 12s in a dual chamber 2 ft^3 sealed box. I'm using one of my friends amps for the time being becasue my old sound storm started putting out a massive DC offset, positive left channel and negative right channel, but im planning to get 3 PPI pc2300s and eventually 3 PPI a600s. -Brandon

I see a lot of amps pushing plenty of rms and the speakers are generally limited to 100rms or lower. Occaisionally, I will see one able to take 200 rms. My question would be, do those that can take higher power give a better quality sound? I am missing on why an amp would put out huge amounts of power when no speakers can hold them. Is it so you can run multi speakers on one channel?

Hello all! My name is Dan and I purchased a 10” DSS Ethos subwoofer a couple years back and I am finally ready to get it installed. I know absolutely NOTHING about this sub. The person I bought it from I have no contact with, however he recommended that I purchase the Crescendo Audio Symphony series S1500.1 amplifier. Like I said I know nothing about this subwoofer. I was wondering what specs I should use as far as building a enclosure. I have a 2013 Focus St Hatchback. I would appreciate any and all feedback as to what kind of enclosure it requires. Thank you all ahead of time. Dan

Hey guys, brand new to the world of car audio and just had a few questions! Planning to get two 12" icons, and being 1250watts each looking for a good 2500 watt amp...but I was wondering is it better to get an amp around 2500-3000 watt or two seperate at 1250-1500 watts? Also to be able to run these I plan on getting an xs battery but which should I get? I also plan on doing the "Big 3", but is there anything else I should do? Thanks for the help everyone, like I said complately blind in this world but really want to learn!

Well, despite my reluctance to join another forum, my brother supa_c spends hours on here, so i figured it had to be better than caraudio.com's forum. I probably wont be posting nearly as much as he does, since I'm usually working or busy tinkering my own website at http://blacktee.net anyways, i like the emoticons, so thats a good start....

Already posted this question in a different section, but this is my first post so give me a break The trunk of my car( 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI) has opening that connects the trunk with the inside cabin of the car. I was wondering if facing the port towards this opening instead of towards the rear of the car would increase SPL or hurt it. Will the air be pushed into the cabin of the car or will it just be trapped in the trunk bouncing around on it self. I will prob end up leaving a gap of about 3" - 5" between the enclosure and the actual opening because the trunk gets narrow towards the back. Would I have to place the port directly in front of the opening or would h…

I have no experience in enclosure construction at all and have been tearing through forums for some helpful advise in enclosure designs. I am pretty confused at this point about some things and was wondering if anyone could clear it up? I am under the impression that if a certain speaker is in a smaller enclosure that it will handle more power and a larger enclosure will be more efficient (less box rise). so if that is true, will they be equal in spl if they receive the same amount of power (after rise) rather its in a "smaller" or "larger" enclosure? i have also heard of people covering ports to play with their tuning, is this just a solid cover reducing the height/width…

MattB here, North Fla. Looking forward to learning alot! Been around car audio since my high school days (80's), but just 'entry level' I guess you could say. I have been on the hunt for a while now for equipment. I read a post about a SS sub on another bbs, and came to check it out. Wow, I am impressed..and I dont know half of nothing when it comes to car audio. So, hopefully I wont ask any stupid a$$ questions...I'll go read as much as I can first...but..well I guess that's it....that's my intro... MattB www.e-Autotrim.com

Hello everyone My name is Travis. I live in kennesaw, Ga. Like most of you, I'm a car audio fanatic. I am currently running 2 12" DB Audio 12s (D4) and a DB audio amp (pushes about 500watts per speaker @ 1ohm) in a 2004 NBS Ford F-150. Any local to me, feel free to send me a pm, I love to see what everyone else has in their cars/trucks.
