What's good everyone just stopping by here to say hey to the board & introduce myself. I'll admit that i'm really armature with the whole topic of systems but i've joined the board to watch & learn and one day become as knowledgeable as some of you are. I've always loved loud music but never really took systems seriously until now. I just bought a car this past week, a '94 Ford Probe, and the first thing on my to do list is get some boom in there!

Ya whatever. I'm new here, I've been around home audio more than car audio, I'm running a sweet rig currently in my loft (HK AVR 235, Klipsch Kg2 Speakers, CD changer) and hope to add an IB sub shortly. My ride is a 1990 Acura Integra GS, but I also frequently drive my family's 1995 Land Rover Discovery (series 1). I'm 16 and I really love to run. Over the summer I put in 300+ miles plus a triathlon; cross country season I'm not sure how many more miles I ran. During XC though I badly stressed my hip and finally couldn't keep running through the pain. As much as it hurt me, I had to call it quits early on in the season. The good news is that I am now healthy an…

Ok, well after 10 years, I'm back and I came straight back here. First off, I want to say I'm happy this company, community, and forum is still around. I got a ton of help 10 years ago and I learned so much. Seeing the SSA store over the past week and browsing the forum brought me back. I already learned so much but see that I need to learn so much more. As the title suggests, I'm getting back into car audio with only an untouched SI Magnum I bought based on recommendations back in 2008. However, I now have a 2016 Honda Accord and some money to spend on a simple SQ system. The car has a stock 4 speaker system, and frankly, it sucks. I'm stuck at understanding what …

Quick search and I didn’t find an answer to this easy question so I’ll ask here: If I go with US Acoustics Barbara Ann 100x4 @ 4 ohm amp how can I wire 2 Evil tweets and 2 Evil midbasses? I was figuring buy the tweets in 8 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 50W from two channels active and get the midbasses in 4 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 100W from the other two channels active. Is that how it works? Is each load independent on each channel thus getting independent power from the amplifier? This seems obvious but I’m not sure.

Hey guys, I'm new to the ssa community and I just had a question about whether I would be better off with 2 12's (most likely fi q 12's ported and tuned low) or one really loud 15 (most likely a DC xl 15)..obviously ported.. Ok first of all, ill start with the basics..I drive a Volkswagen jetta so the most I can squeeze is 3.5-4 cu. ft...and for power I've got the audioque 2200d and a 220 ho alternator with 1 red top (starter battery) and the big 3 with 4 Ga...now given my trunk is relatively small..I would probably be better off with 3.5 cu. Ft. Recommended for the DC xl but..its taller and would most likely not have enough air space to bounce back off of my trunk lid or…

I drive a 2003 Hyunda Tiburon GT. I've heard from one person that 18" subs don't do so well in smaller cars. I was looking for some more input on this subject. I have a 15" RD Sonance currently that does just fine, but I've been looking into some Fi Subs and I'm considering the possibility of maybe a 15" or 18" Q or bl. Anyone have any suggestions on a sub and a size? LOL. Thanks everyone! Corey

Hi guys i have all sorts of problems,1st where to start. my OHIO alternator does lousy at keeping the charge to my 4 xs 2700s, i have 2 runs of 0 gauge from the front battery to the back, 2 grnd and 2 positives, big 3 in 0 gauge,my amp will play about 5 min then shut off, then play 1 min and shut off and so on downhill. back when i had 2 orion 15s amp never shut off, same set up diff subs. now that i got 2 18 SMDs i think they are too hungry for power the amp is 9000w rms 13.8 volts. alternator is 14.0 when cold 13.4 warm then music goes and so does the voltage12.8 max. someone said to get a smaller pulley OHIO sent me one with 6 grooves mine is 8, DC power makes a dual …
