Sound Deadening

Treatments for vibration control, noise mitigation or maximizing SPL

  1. Started by Eastman474,

Okay so im gonna be running four Sundown Audio SA-8's on a SAZ2000d. Im working on building a fiberglass box for them in my Silverado and I have heard some stuff about deadening the interior of the enclosure to gain spl and sq as well. Is this true? If so what kinds of deadener would you recomend? im guessing spray but any suggestions are helpful thanks.

Just a shout out to Don of SoundDeadenerShowdown! Shipped me everything I needed to treat my doors at a great price. Answered all my questions and then some and even saved me a few dollars by keeping me from buying more than I needed. His product exceeded all of my expectations and the fact that I was able to help a small business was icing on the cake. Thanks Don! The only problem now is that the engine and road noise I couldn't hear before is coming through loud and clear Time to start saving up to treat the rest of my vehicle

The side windows in a bronco's top are only held in by rubber trim, Unfortunately they are not tight enough to withstand the pressures of bass. The windows flex back and forth and on some songs can make enough noise to be annoying. Anyone have any ideas on how to better secure them? I was thinking maybe epoxy of some sort, but I'm not sure if it would work or which one to use.

Hi all, I want to do some work on my Rav4 and have tried contacting Don on here and his website but no answers. Does anyone know if he is still selling products? I have new speakers that I want to install and would like to do some deadening at the same time. Joe

I have an opportunity to get a bunch of hushmat extremely cheap from a shop wanting to clear it out. Now, my question,is it any good? Normally, it is too expensive to consider over the other brands on here, but this is a good deal. I don't want to spend the money or time if the stuff does a poor job. I only want to deaden once.
