Mostly geared towards the older guys of the group ... but definitely want replies from the younger guys as well. During your life, you were given many pieces of advice - what are the most memorable tips given to you? What advice do you wish to pass on to others? I'll start with "think with your big head not your little one" ... and I'll insert the [serious] tag here to at least try and keep this thread somewhat on topic/serious. Listen to people with experience. I'm not talking listen to your old man talk about how he got hammered back in college every Thursday night ... I'm talking about listening to the guy who has been working for 30 years and knows the ins and out o…

So just curious. Does anyone like tequila here? I for one love it! I'm not talking about that crappy Jose Cuervo Gold stuff that most people remember from their college days. I am talking about 100% Agave Tequila. I have for the last 7-8 years learned to appreciate and understand what real top notch high quality Tequila is. My friends call me a Tequila snob because I refuse to drink Patron! Blah!!! That stuff is NOT the best Tequila as most people think. If you thought Patron was the best it's not your fault. It's just good marketing and product placement. Also the fact that the HipHop industry glamorized it as well. Anyhow here is some top notch Tequila that I am really …

Looking to purchase a good android tablet under $300. So far out of date on these things I have no clue. Prefer one in the 10" size. Don't plan on anything crazy for it just a solid everyday play toy. Any recommendations?

I take Gracie Jiujitus and frequent a martial arts forum.... Here Giuliano Stroe has six-pack abs before turning six years old. And he's also in the Guinness Book of World Records before he can probably even read it. Though it's highly unusual for a child to start weight training at such a young age, the pre-schooler entered the record books earlier this year after completing the fastest ever 10-meter walk with a weight ball between the legs, which is both both highly impressive and highly specific. Since then, a four-minute video of Stroe has hit the Internet and made him a viral sensation. It looks like a training montage from a Rocky movie, minus the Survivor soundtrack. (And, interestingly, Guiliano Stroe is almost the same s…

Saw this and thought I'd share... http://blog.edesignaudio.com/?p=1792 Because I cannot operate with such a large overhead with little inventory, and no staff, I have come to the conclusion that the doors at Elemental Designs will be closing by the end of Friday, August 31st, 2012.

Does anybody play in it? Might be interesting to have discussion not only on the market but the state of the economy and things. I know the owners of the board dislike politics, so PLEASE LEAVE OUT your views on those. I don't want to hear Obama did this or Bush did that if it's just to bash and be dramatic. I started almost two years ago, part of it was out of the opportunity to gain money, part was just because I was bored. The market obviously changes everyday in response to different worldly happenings, and it keeps my brain occupied. I started out with long term holding views in mind, but in just a few months I got sucked in to trading more short term. I'm not …

My wife was carrying an arm full of towels into the bathroom. Once she got in there she realized her arms were full and she couldn't open our linen closet doors (which have magnetic latches). As she was standing there deciding where to sit the towels down, the door unlatched and opened all of the way. She said thank you and put the towels away. Now if we could just figure out how to train it to fold the laundry too we would be all set.

I was cleaning out my car, when some kid came though in a new caddy acting fresh as anything next to me and my 1991 lumina. He had all of his doors open and was trying to show off his bass, that sounded horribly distorted, and pretty weak. Although I have a 15 in the trunk that I knew would blow him away, I passed it up and made the mature decision to not have a mini bassrace in public like that. Anyone proud? I honestly think coming to ssa has made me gain a lot of respect for real car audio and respect for others on the road. I used to be the annoying person behind you at a red light pumping my nasty bass as hard as possible, but now I turn it down, or at least turn dow…

  25. I have been looking for a decent 12 gauge pump gun for a while now. Last weekend I came across a gently used Mossberg Maverick 88 Security for peanuts. Today it stopped raining long enough to go to the range. We decided on an impromptu game of "Who Can Hit The 100 yd. Target with Deer Slugs". Turns out that nobody wins that game. Ow. All in all a hell of a day at the range.
