Just curious. Do we have any licensed ham radio operators on here? I got my Tech a few weeks ago and have been loving it. Its amazing to go from cb (4-6 miles range) to 2meter (150+ mile range) and each base unit is the same size. Here is my setup in my daily driver. Cobra 19 in the right and a Kenwood 281 on the left.

My mom has an '02 Ford Taurus that I installed a Metra dash panel radio conversion kit in so I could install the stereo deck she wanted. Because of the configuration of the dash panels you can't install your own radio unless you install something like this conversion kit first. The kit provided a new front panel but asked you to remove the panel retaining clips from the old panel and use it on the new installation. Those are the internal retaining clips you de-lock when you insert the U shaped removal tools. The old clips got misshapen and one broke. So now I can't get the panel to stay in and am looking to replace the clip. Anyone know where to get a clip that look…

I've been contemplating this for over a year, and am seriously considering it now, and could use some input from you guys. I have spoken to Mark some over that time, and want more opinions. Thinking of starting a rock review style website. Review new records (before they hit stores), concert reviews (with photos), interviews (once hits go up allow visitors to suggest questions), instruments and gear, rock style clothing and art, and news. Offer a break down to sort out by band names, with links there to each piece about them (and links back), links to the official band site/FB, and links to purchase their music (Amazon, iTunes, etc). Would this be something any of you wou…

I had Boston Acoustics low end comps in the front, and low end coax's in the rear powered by a low end Alpine 4 channel amp. I had a very nice Alpine deck (unsure of the model) and two Alpine Type S 12s in a prefab box powered by a dei 1100d. I fried the 12's within a week and then started researching online and installing my own stuff. Interested in hearing what everyone else had for their first setup!

Well I would like to say thanks for everybody that helped me out. Anyway I am trying to get a list of good songs to play on my system. The front end can actually keep up with the woofer for the most part. Here is a list of songs that seems to hit the "sweet" spot on my system. Its a 3.5 cuFt box tuned to about 31.5hz (I am actually think now I tuned too low. Maybe this summer I will fix it). Any suggestions of songs to try would be awesome! Flow Rida - Finally Here - Jump - Gotta Get It - Shone - ROOTS Slim Thug - Boss of all Bosses Durrough - - <- Probably the loudest I can get my system to is this song - - - <- S…

Haven't spent much time with the kid. He takes the Mazda (w/ uberwoofer) out once in a while. I'd rather him have something a little quicker and a little nicer. So, it'll be our little project. Winter tires are still on there. And we've already ordered some nice gold rims.
