Anyone and everyone that wants to come and check out the rides, people, and audio equipment from your "Neighbooring Texan" come and meet with us! This is an open "Event" meaning we are totally open to suggestions in order to help out with the meet. It will be in the Central Texas area.....Because last time we had more than a few arrive from HOUSTON! I know a couple of you guys are from west Texas and a few are from San Antonio and Dallas. So somewhere Central would be great, and if BigJons guy with the shop is down with the meet at his place it sounds like a steal deal. So start the posting of when your available. BTW- It would be nice to hold it between middle to l…

I thought I'd post this here, since I've noticed that there's quite a few people from both places. My wife and I have been thinking a lot about our future. We currently live in a small town in Kansas. The largest cities are more than 30 minutes away (both of us drive about 45 minutes to work). My wife will be done with school in the next year and a half and is getting into the medical field (the administrative side). I'm currently in school and am strongly considering going into the medical field (most likely radiology or physical therapy). The job outlook around here is decent, but the biggest town we'd work in is less than 130,000 (Topeka, KS). That's where my wi…

A Texan is drinking in a Florida bar when he gets a call on his cell phone. He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear, and orders a round of drinks for everybody in the bar because, he announces, his wife has just produced a typical Texas baby boy weighing 25 pounds. Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but the Texan just shrugs, "That's about about average back home, folks...like I said, my boy's a typical Texas baby boy." Congratulations showered him from all around, and many exclamations of "WOW!" were heard. One woman actually fainted to sympathy pains. Two weeks later the Texan returns to the bar.The bartender says, "Say, you are…

For those just waking up, I was in the running for "System of the Month" (SOTM) over on the SMD forum. I called up upon my bothers here on SSA, quite a few actually, to lend their support and cast a vote for me. Well, quite a few of them did. Enough of them, as a matter of fact, to secure a win. I'd like to thank all of them for there support and generosity. Thank you. I'd also like to thank the community as a whole, for their support, in sight, and willingness to help out. A very big factor in helping me complete my "dream" build.

Thanks to those who did you know what for me. It was totally unexpected. Brought a tear or two to my eye when I opened the envelope. Thanks again Kent. "Thanks" doesn't seem like enough, and it isn't.

I want to thanks the SSA forum and all the members for helping me improve my English (and my car audio knowledge too) !!! It's way better and more effective than English classes ! I had several tests yesterday for a new job, and the english one was very hard. I got the results and I did a very very good score ! They all were scaring me with that test : it's very hard, you won't have enough time,...etc. So I rushed and made some mistakes, I could have reach a better score though. I don't know if I get the job, but I know what the ssa forum did (and does) for me !!! BIG THANKS TO SSA !

To start the story I will by saying at no point did I think I did not deserve the tickets. On my van I have, what may be some of the darkest tint you can have and still be able to drive. 5% over factory 20% on rear five windows, 5% on front two, and 35% on whole windshield with a 10" 5% strip over it. While I have had this my inspection sticker has since expired. But would cost $200ish to get brought up to date due to having to have the front tint removed then replaced, so I have not done it yet. I was driving to a local audio shop I frequent with my GF and friend in the van with me, we were going through a small antique shopping center. Stores on both sides, speed limi…

So my wife started working at best buy a few weeks ago and i go in today and start talking with the guy in the car audio section and apparently "the loudest sub in the world is a kicker solo x because it has the highest sensitivity of any sub, 92db." and the worlds loudest vehicle is in houston tx pushing an astounding 320 db with 3 kicker solo x's. going on to say that reaching 200db is fairly easy and that his vehicle with 2 kicker L7s is at almost 100db. i couldnt tell whether i was crying or laughing on the inside. The image some people think of that you watch some youtube videos, go to an electronics store and get subs, an amp, and a box you like put them in your ca…

After reading this. "If your not labeled as a deigner then do not respond in this section to build requests!!!!! Only post request for a designer to help you with your enclosure. designers may charge for certain designs! this should be worked out between you and the designer in PM's not in the forum!" And their ONLY "Enclosure Designer" is a 16 year old........... I will most likely not be returning there.

A man is at work one day when he notices that his male co-worker is wearing an earring. This man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow, and is curious about his sudden change in fashion sense. "Yo, Bob, I didn't know you were into earrings." "Oh, yeah, sure," says Bob sheepishly. "Really? How long have you been wearing one?" "Ever since my wife found it in our bed." oops.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I know you guys are.. and i am too... Everyday.. every other day... 6 minutes ago... either here or elsewhere, people are ALWAYS asking how many batteries, is this enough battery, is my alt strong enough, how many alts will i need, etc.... Well... i've been meaning to say this for a while and it seems it's time now. STOP PUTTING YOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM QUESTIONS UP ON A PEDESTAL! Just because you may want to install 2,000w on stock electrical system doesn't mean it's immediately going to suffer catastrophic failure! This is where we, as a group, teach common sense..... Let's look at absolutes vs varied values- Hooking up amp(s)- They MUST be wired and grounded- Absolute …
